  1. I had a thought which I posted in another thread and I wanted to see if anyone else would agree that this is a fair way of doing things. I was thinking that with all the ideas floating around and the aggressive discussions going on that there is a way for devs to see what people actually want and what they don't want. After 8 months - 1 year of the game being live (seeing as I think that's how long you need for the game to be in it's main state with a regular number of players, and everyone being able to be at 50) they could start adding an in game vote. How it would work: -You have to have a character level 50. -You have to have been subscribed for more than 2 months so far. -You have to play for more than 8 hours a week. -When you log in to your game you get a pop up in the bottom corner which is like a "poll" tab on the latest opinion based changes (specific add-ons, UI changes, character look etc etc). -You click on the tab and a short list of things you can vote on come up, you click on one and it gives you a full description of what the change would be. -You click yes or no on if you want it. -There have to be more than 60% of people saying yes to it for them to start working on implementing it. This way the majority solid gamer base get what they want and the devs get to know what is actually wanted by the majority of the community. Obviously all the polls going on are put in by devs and not by people so there can be no overlap or doubling up or purely stupid ideas spammed.
  2. Don't put in duel speccing for 4 years. If the majority of actual game players (you have to be subscribed, playing more than 8 hours a week, and have a level 50 character then you get a vote). And the number of players at this level are given a vote panel when they log in, if over 50% of them say they want it then put it in.
  3. That's odd because at peak times all the EU servers are full or very high, and every time i'm online there are hundreds of people in each area.
  4. You are completely spewing opinion and you're being entirely subjective. They have made a game, if you don't like that game unless it's buggy or you have ideas for improvements that have near universal appeal, or which at least have universal appeal in mind then you're just ranting.
  5. Well what would you do with the tentacles? The hoods would have to be twice the size and you'd look like a mr bobble head. Actually, what do Twi'lecks look like if they have helms that completely cover their heads?
  6. Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. You are constantly Online with thousands of other players, you have flash points in which you have to play along with other people Online, almost like it's Multiplayer, to beat the content. The game is Massive in it's size, scope, and number of players. Finally it's a Role Playing Game.
  7. That.... would be an awesome idea on PvP servers. Have it that when you enter certain designated PvP areas it immediately logs a person on the opposing faction who is in the area as a bounty. You get it as a quest and then you have to hunt them down and off them and pick up a "scalp" or something. Bounty hunter and smuggler classes should get a bonus on it in some way.
  8. -and the need/greed system needs to be heavily updated/altered so that people can't need for companions, if they already own the armour/weapon item, or if they are unable to use it on their main.
  9. Hahahahahahahaha, the irony... oh the irony. That's just not true it is entirely 50/50. That's the problem with having an opinion which is entirely subjective and based on no facts... people still think they're right. Only a small number of people are insulting but they're the ones who scream the most and the loudest, don't straw man and stereotype a group just because you're on the opposite side.
  10. -Hood-up and hood-down option which is capable of showing over a helm/mask or without a helm/mask. -Resizable UI. -Ability to dye the colour of parts of armour or clothing sets however you like. -A lot more abilities per character, with a large number of abilities being of nearly the same power and sharing a cool down, but entirely fitting a style of play. SO you could have one person who likes to play one way using one move and another using another but doing nearly the same DPS depending on the situation. -A lot more build options so that there are much larger levels of variation between the builds of each person. -More races. -More classes. -The major highest level items being orange and being specced entirely through mods (so that you can choose how you want to look). -More lightsaber colours. -Make high textures and AA work for people they don't work for. -The ability to buy or earn different space ships. -The ability to hold lightsabers backwards a-la-starkiller. -Higher levels of weapon/hilt/armour customisation. -More body options, skin colour options, tattoo/scar options, piercing options, eye colour options etc etc. -Light side "corruption" visuals.
  11. And add ons like DBM are an absolutely awful idea.
  12. Oh great another I want add ons vs I don't want add ons thread, i'm guessing macros, dpsmeters and threat meters have come up like atheists arguing with catholics again. There are already 3 or 4 massive threads arguing this subject, why make another? Half the forums says don't do it and half says do.
  13. Let The Wookie Win: Just a fantastic guild name.
  14. What the hell is anyone who enjoys SWTOR doing on the SWTOR forums anyway?! This isn't how we should be doing it people, we should be on the WoW forums slagging that game off, then we can be just like the WoWtards.... and it will be delicious.
  15. What's to stop people just saying it's for their companion and selling it instead? The other thing is that you don't use companions in the majority of group instances, you will never use a companion to raid, and you will never use a companion for PvP war zones. Rolling need when you don't need it is just being an a-holius.
  16. yes... it's like wowhead, only instead of wow type tor.
  17. I wouldn't call you cool... apart from that I can't give up the charade, BW are forcing me to pay my subscription to continue having this much fun. I've tried to stop, I told them that having this much fun is bad for my health, that it's giving me way too much time to enjoy this fantastic content with my really good friends... and all they said was that I can just cancel my subscription any time I like.... BUT I CAN'T!!
  18. That's not how it works though... ever... and it never has worked this way. How it works is: If you don't use x, y, and z add-on you cannot even be looked at for this raid/guild/group and if person a has a higher number than person b (even my a minute amount) then person a will be chosen over person b when deciding to go on a raid.... then person a turns out to be a god awful player who has been carried for his gear and just knows how to stand still and watch a meter whilst he times his rotation, but by the time you've kicked person a because he is wiping the raid person b has already gone offline.
  19. The idea of the need vs greed system was that you needed the item for the character you are playing as in the spec they are playing in as it is better than an item you have. Rolling need for your companion when someone else in the party needs it for their character is pretty despicable, and rolling need when you don't need the item at all is despicable. The WoW need and greed system is pretty great tbh.
  20. Because the absolute majority of players don't use the forums? There's about 1000th of the people who play posting on the forums, maybe less, and there are a tonne of people who don't even play posting. The majority of forum users aren't enjoying the game because the people who are enjoying it are playing it.
  21. Then you were a terrible terrible pally in WoW. I was Ret with Prot off spec and I tanked down Raggy and dps'ed him on two (obviously separate) occasions within the first two months of him being live. On my ret pally I used maybe a 4-5 button rotation with 2 or 3 buff cool downs, and on the port pally I honestly used less. In WoW I had 3 rows in the lower bar and two down one side of the screen, and most of it was filled with crap that didn't need to be there.
  22. Combat logs are fine, as are macros as long as they're social macros only.... dps meters, gearscore and add ons like DBM however are just awful. A dps meter which only shows at the end of the combat could be o.k, but having someone stare at it throughout the fight is just poor.
