  1. armor and most abilities don't even change. You still wear the same armor type most of the time and you value the same primary stats. Its almost no different than switching specs in other games.
  2. If advance classes are so different why do most of them share one tree. I don't see a mage and rogue sharing a tree. In addition, why are 50 percent of base skills the same the buff they provide the same. Even the first 10 levels is the same. No to mention all the story and the type of gear they wear. Just because a jedi guardian single weilds a weapon while the other duel wields doesn't make it a different class it make it a different spec. They just wanted to add more classes without doing more work thus they created advance class. Also, BW did say they will offer advance class repecs shortly after luanch but then decided against it later. The Jedi Guardian is made to be a tank and can't really dps no mather the spec while the juggernut is mad to dps and can't really tank. I been helping my wife out with her jaggernut on how to spec and dps and all I played is a Guardian. Both classes feel the same one just can burn targets down a lot faster. I have 10 level 85 character in WoW one of each class but I only have one 50 in swtor because i can't stomach the grind again to level the same class to 50 bc of no advance class so I choose not to play at all. I think the whole reason why they lost so many subs is because of no advance class respec, x-server lfg, and no addons and macros.
  3. /agreed. In addition, right now GW2 fan-base are the Fanboys they pretty much have nothing but love for the game. The major complaint seems to be the that when you press a button and an ability fires off nothing happens, more base is needed. Unfortunately, I bought into the hype and pre-purchased the game and I wish I hadn't. GW2 really is poor game. its Warhammer online 2.0 with no feedback in combat and bad rotation design. Every quest is going to be a public quest from warhammer or rifts in Rift. Most classes are cool-down driven and most of the time your just auto-attacking. The quest design causes them to become so oversaturate with players that you don't even know what you are doing. Down the line the will be hard to finish because not enough players maybe leveling. The story is interesting but the cut scenes are bad quality, think infamous. No to mention there is really no carrot or end game except for a carrotless; know, I know, COD and Battlefield have no carrot but they are build on fun game play and skills while guild wars 2 is a stripped down hot bar MMO. It feels incomplete. I also don't like the cash shop, tbh it has all the problems of swtor, warhammer and maybe more, no addon support, no LFG, no raids. I only played the first 10 levels of 5 characters but that how I feel. I will level a character hopefully it will get better.
  4. what i got from playing guild wars 2 is that you still need healers and tanks for hard dungeons. They have said as much, but more class can do that thou some will do it better than others. I just don't like the long cds on guild wars 2 and the responsiveness of combat. they need to add some base or something to make it feel more responsive. That seems to be the number one complain on the fourms too. The game is also buggy but its beta. FYI: already prepurchased it and can't wait. 3 mmos here i come (wow gw2 and swtor)
  5. If this game dies, you can pretty much say goodbye to MMOS. I mean if you can't have BW (one of the greatest game designers) and Star Wars IP ( a huge IP) succeed at making an MMO + subs than who can? If SWTOR dies so well sub MMOS plain and simple, no publisher will ever devote money to it, unless the developer's name starts with B and ends with D.

    Yes!!

if i had a dime for every post that said that thing will be different in x amount of time I would have been a dimellionaire. Wasn't the legacy patch suppose to be the Jesus patch and fix everything. Didn't BW say they aren't doing x-server LFG because they care about the community and now they are saying the engine of the game can't handle it. I have learned not to put to much stock on what BW or their loyal fan boys say. I remmeber BW promising Advancere-specsrespecs shortly after release, than they said advance classes are meant to be different classes. I could keep on going about broken promises but I wont. However, I do hope you are right and they did learn from their mistakes, either way i am in it for the long haul.
  7. I wish they would make legacy unlocks unlock able via real money. They could keep the legacy level requirements but allow us to pay with in-game or real money currency. This would generate money for the game and wouldn't really give any game breaking advantage to others. I would pay $10-$15 for race unlocks, and $2-$5 for small stuff.
  8. there well be paid transfers for you to transfer where you want. Also, if they offer free transfer anywhere balance would be a nightmare.
  9. And that why Guild Wars 2 won't be as big as every swears is it going to be. I know people thing Guild Wars 2 will be the next wow killer but I be it going to do about what Guild Wars 2 did give or take 20%. FYI I already pre paid for GW2 and I currently have an active account for both SWTOR and World of Warcraft.
  10. in an interview EA said that 1.3 million players resubed their first month, and they blame the 400K lost to casual players because they tend to not like paying sub on a monthly basis. In the latest earning call they said the same thing that they had 1.3 million paid after the first payed month. BW said on DEC. 20th that if the game stays above 500K subs they will be successful. Since they laid off employees, i will bet money that BW is probably below 500K subs. Last weeks the instance: tor edition stated that they have seen number put at 386K sub from reliable sources. This would make more sense since majority of servers have 3-30 people on fleet at peak hours. I don't think there servers can handle more than 5000 people right now. So even if there are 4 servers is very heave at peak hour i doubt they even have 5000 players on all three.. I assume that is why they are talking about mega servers. They probably have less than 25K players on at anytime and they can merge them all on 4 or 5 server and call it a mega server to PR spin it.
  11. i just can't deal with load screens. I like the game a lot but the loading screens makes me not want to play it. I have not logged in since a week after 1.3 came out. Everytime i think about playing I think about all the loading screens and all the quest that require you go back and fourth between 2 planets. The loading screen and no LFG is my main problems with the game. I have a 50 trooper and 4 other characters between 31-40. Everytime i want to log in to this game i ended up just playing D3 or logging into WoW to check my mail and post a few thing to the AH...which reminds me I should post some stuff to AH since its the weekend.
  12. why is it that every player that is against the x-server tool was always the greatest player and people eructed statues on their behalf until the x-server came out . May be you were great in you little server but people realized that more skillful player exist. I have a ton friends from different server that i met through wow's LFG x-server tool and we do raids together and have become good friends. Its called real ID, hell i met people in Diablo 3 and than raided with them in WoW and we where from different servers. Look up openraid.com and you will see a community existing regardless of servers. Also, If ninjaing loot is the problem there are ways around it that can be implemented by BW, oh wait never mind they laid off half the development team. I guess all those thing we were promised aren't coming for a long if ever. Plus once name changes and server transfers become active guess what people can ninja loot and change their name or server.
