  1. Yeah, Black Squadron took our mains to Harbinger, the majority of my Characters are still on Pot5, however, and While they don't have Animal's hangar, I can and will fly with them. hit me up if you wanna group.
  2. The negative effect I've suffered from is withdrawal if I go a couple days without playing. That and The near instaneous threat assessment and targeting priority checklist I run through in every day life.....?
  3. Very true, of course in applying real world physic's none of these ships could fly, without being thrown very hard.
  4. With No Problems.....after a long drop.... But that in itself brings up a whole new chapter on tactics, ballistic flight, and or it's tactical applications. The EU is littered with pilots using unpowered, ballistic flight to disguise their ships as asteroids, space debris, etc. It would add a real run element of game play for those willing and patient enough to launch sneak attacks in this method.
  5. I'd still knock out my 8 to 15 kills a match
  6. I've found it better as a defensive gunship (More midrange threat than the Type one.) Try a fire and maneuver strategy, if you're sitting still in the Cbreaker, you're gonna die. I use the Plasma Rail, HLC, Protorps, Feedback shield and Barrel Roll, and I do just fine in mine. Light'em up, close to torp range, and let them fly face first into your HLC, or hit them with Blue death, while they're burning.
  7. troll harder, troll again. Back to the discussion: Fridge, I generally put up *better* numbers when I roll solo (Just finished a TDM with 18 kills, 12 assists) meaning out of 50 kills, I put damage on 30 of them. I just find more fun to fly with my guildmates, not because OMZG We must annihilate any and all resistance, but because we're usually BSing back in forth in TS, and laughing our asses off (Usually at each other, not the opposing team. ) Hell, it's standing procedure for us to take out the ship we're the worst in if it looks like the opposing team is full of two shippers.
  8. I approve of this message, We call them "Supreme Commanders" On Pot5.
  9. Right there, you're wrong, find an enthusiastic nublet, and group with them. Answer his/her questions, and help just that one player get better. When I first started flying with Black Squadron, they carried my dumb ***. From flying and talking with them, and more than anything, practice, I got better. Now I can hold my own and then some.
  10. @ Tom and Co., good seeing you out there tonight. Great flying.
  11. Yeah, on Pot5, we pretty much stepped on the hackusations early through education, and the feedback shield, does generate alot of those "shoot from your butt" type rageouts for those that don't know.
  12. I *HAVE* to know who the Accuser was....
  13. Animal-mutha Pub side, Bahles on The Imps.
  14. Welcome To Pot5! Be sure that you guys jump in to The Pilot channels (Same for both factions.) See you guys out there.
  15. There is a scout hunter Type One Striker build, that is extremely effective. I've used it to great effect. Ion/Heavy/Cluster or Conc, with Speed thruster, straight line Speed, yes, they can out run some scouts, but they'll never turn with you.
  16. It would take a serious amount of time to eliminate the Home Team Advantage, i.e. Home server would have access to all their best ships, not the one class they've been power leveling in preparation for the event. Someone like this would be more feasible when PTS is up, everyone could just copy their toons there and slug it out, of course that would eliminate the F2pers, someone of whom, are really good.
  17. It worked. Setting them on harassment detail of HV targets freed up our HV targets to capture and defend enough nodes to come from behind and win. 1000 to 960. Sure it probably fed the pubs a few extra kills, but it won us the match. Remember: Everyone was a two or three ship noob at one point. But we had an advantage, everyone was a noob when we were noobs.
  18. Well, I'll try to say this without being insulting, because it's really not my intention to start weeny wagging thread, but you've missed the point. Which is: Teamwork makes everyone better, even those two ship bads. If a vet can direct them somewhere useful, even a two ship stock flying first timer can be useful, even if they're just harassing a node, or chasing a gunship around. That is why the pubs win so much, guys. We support our teammates. We tried it on the Imp side and it worked there. We didn't lose a match, even without being in voice comms. Sword naturally moved into a supporting position when I set up to fire on my gunship, Yohfro didn't need to be told to harass the strikers and scouts coming after us and Pep played linebacker and directed the rest of the team. We forced them to play our game. Not vice versa. Teamwork wins matches, that's all there is to, and when two teams working together, face off it makes for better matches, win or lose. Personally I'd rather lose a close one than get roflstomped, and I'm sure there are many pilots on our server that feel the same.
  19. Yohfro, Imp Pot5. Excellent team player, and devilish S.O.B. to hit. Murderous in his Sting, and I'd rather have him with me than against me.
  20. Because no one in the history of competition has ever been surprised by the skill of an opponent, Ever... Side Note, Swordsaint and I rolled with Pep and Yohfro tonight. didn't lose once. However...most fun of the night. We we faced off against some of my fellow Black Squadron members, and a handful of other good Pub pilots, came from behind to win a squeaker. I will fully admit Andregard is a better Gunship pilot then me, and Trith is a beast in a Scout, but we pulled it out because we coordinated, and dictated the fight. We weren't even in voice comms, just used the in game chat and map, to see where support was needed.
  21. Stacking is not when a pug totally overwhelms another pug. Solo queued(speaking only for myself, don't know if anyone else is grouped, Only Black Squadron member online atm, 50 to 7 TDM, just happened.
  22. I still insist we have the best pilots in the game, because after playing on several other servers, I've been disappointed with the level of competition I've seen elsewhere. Our servers main problem: One side is very organized, the other isn't. I'm looking at you Imps. I've encountered a great number of extremely skilled Imperial Pilots both on my Pub and Imperial GSF toons. (Name's like Is'pep, Matu, Yofro, Fortunatus, Zuchisen and Gildrak come to mind) The problem I see is we have several coordinated groups on the Pub side. Black Squadron can often field two four man groups during prime time, The Burger boys are a force to be reckoned with, and their are several other guilds that routinely fly together. I've been spending more time on my Imp toon, Bahles, as of late, because A: I want to bring as much threat to the table as I do on Animal, who has 6 mastered ships, and B: I'm trying to encourage coordination and communication. Let's face it, Out of Black Squadron's 40 odd members, not all of us are standalone game changers. By using voice comms and giving pointers, we turn Average Pilots into Good pilots, and Good Pilots into Excellent Pilots. On the flip side, no one likes a walk over: I was telling Matu and Is'pep the other night while I was flying with them, about a match that was so lopsided, that I literally fell asleep while guarding a node. I only woke up with my Warcarrier slammed into the node, earning my only death for that match. That's no damn fun. Not for me, being on the winning team, and certainly not for the guys and gals on the other side who were getting facerolled. I miss those early days when every match was a nail-biter, and I continually hope to see Death Squadron or something like it come thundering back, just to make most nights interesting again. For the TL:DR set: Imps, Especially those of you I named above: Grab some of those Average and Good Pilots on the Imp side and make them better.
  23. Well, I've always been an accurate shooter, video game, real world, doesn't matter, of course I was also taught from an early to to assess a situation, before acting. So when I bust off three kills on damaged opponents in short order, blame my dad. Off Topic: When I was still loading diapers, my dad took us home on leave, he went to the gun club with my grandfather. A trophy winning competition pistol marksman bet my dad $100 (in 1981 money) that he could clear a table of bottles and cans faster than my dad could. This trophy winner broke every bottle and knocked every can off that table in 9 seconds, using only 8 rounds. .....My dad shot a leg off the table....
