To be fair though, it was the community who was very loud about absolutely not wanting cross server ques while a handful of people who could see beyond the shiney nickle right in front of their face said "When this game starts losing subs you're going to wish you had them." I love the smell of "I told you so" in the morning.
  2. The PPA Proc nerf hurt us a bit, but yeah our damage is really, really good. Especially since we have strong single target and strong AOE. Feels like even 2 really strong DPS isn't enough some times. I get in WZs where there are 4 or 5 healers in the same spot with 1 tank, and it's just like pulling teeth. They can't do much to us because they don't have the DPS, but it makes for some really boooooring stalemates.
  3. Dayum, is your friend pyro? My personal best is 550k but I'm kind of a utility/dps spec hybrid so I can't pull the numbers a full pyro can. That's pretty impressive though, never seen a pyrotech over 700k. Especially not on alderaan. Were you guys fighting over mid the whole time? I could see that if that was the case, if he had some good healers with him and it was a cluster**** mid.
  4. When you get as many healers as he has in a game, it's damn near impossible to kill anything. Even after the healer nerf. It's probably not his fault no one is dropping if they have 4 healers with that much healing.
  5. If a server isn't healer heavy they won't see those numbers. Also, damage =/= good at pvp It certainly helps but I'd rather have a DPS that had good awareness and objective points than damage any day
  6. He's posting shots from voidstar, as a smash jug, in games with a ton of healers. In those circumstances my Jugg (in centurion gear, not even recruit) has pulled 300k. With a pocket healer and more expertise 600k is definitely not out of the question, not by a long shot. I've never seen 600k in person, but I've seen plenty of screenshots before this guy Not to downplay him by any means though, it's still impressive even on AOE star. The highest I've seen is 900k though
  7. That's true, forgot about that. We do get heavy armor, but we don't get shields or cleanses. I think the thing that pushes ops over in terms of survivability is you have stealth. I'd still give the edge in terms of survivability to OPs but to be totally fair, I've never played one so I could be way off base.

  9. It would be a large step, but it wouldn't fix it. You'd still have trolly pugs etc. The only way to truly balance it is to just make premades get their own que. Which is what they're doing.
  10. That is so not true I don't even know where to begin. I've been on both sides of the fence, only solo ques, and only premade ques. Believe me when I tell you that most premades consist of people who are just as bad as PUGs, the only reason they win is because they have microphones.
  11. I have a ST / Pyro hybrid that gives me jet charge... but I give up some railshot damage talents at the top of the pyro tech tree to get that. My highest Railshot I've ever hit was 3.7k. You definitely won't be hitting 5k AND have jet charge.
  12. It would be kind of cool, if there were enough players, to just have a Huttball league. I think that would be pretty sweet, but I have a feeling this game is bleeding subs so hard that any further fracturing of the PVP ques would be pretty detrimental
  13. I feel like in non-rateds you should be able to. I would really love to not ever have to set foot in civil war again until they fix the damned side speeders. Talk about a lame WZ.
  14. Pyros are a melee class, so we don't get the benefit of being ranged and having our max DPS rotation. As melee classes go, pyros are easily the squishiest. We do get the added benefit of being able to half dps at range, so I guess that's something. We over heat really fast and do pretty low dps, however, if we do that.
  15. This entire post derives from the fact that you don't understand the complexities of the warzone, so you find it shallow, imbalanced, and not warranting being in rateds. I'm telling you, you are wrong. It's great that on your server you don't have people who have figured out how to counter "Leap, Pull, and then mouse 1 as fast as you can" and you win 9/10 of your games. That's gotta be nice to have such an easy time farming. Some of us, on our servers, people have figured out counter strats, and counter-counter strats, and we are really enjoying the different roles that classes have in huttball, and how they function in terms of offense, and defense, and controlling mid. When X server ques finally come out, you'll see what I'm talking about and hopefully you'll enjoy Huttball a lot more.
  16. Apples and oranges. I would love to have the CC of a sniper or OP, or the survivability of a maurader, but it aint in the cards. I'm not sure how the comparison got started but it's kind of silly. To be totally honest, I was surprised they nerfed PPA procs, and not the upper teir rail shot talents for pyrotech when they did nerf PTs. The damage doesn't feel excessive, especially when you look at the big picture in what the class actually has. If you pick up those damage talents you give up mobility, survivability, and utility. Damage is pretty much all a 31 Pyrotech has to offer. Is the damage excessive? I dunno, maybe, but it sure doesn't feel that way with as squishy and immobile we are. *edit* to fix my spelling.
  17. You keep mentioning his heat management, but as we keep pointing out this is Pre 1.2 when our sustainability took a large hit in the way of the nerf to PPA. The reason he's so heat effecient is because he's getting procs that give him free Railshots. Since free railshots refund 8 heat after use, every time that procs he effectively vents 8 heat. Pre 1.2, there was no cooldown on the procs, so he gets chain procs that effectively vent heat for him. Post 1.2, there is a 6 second internal CD on PPA, which means we are not nearly as heat effecient anymore, without throttling our own damage to keep our heat at around 40%.

  19. Spoken like someone who actually understands this warzone. Stop trying to remove strategy from the only WZ that really has in depth strategy.
  20. To what extreme? The only class that really gets truly shafted in Huttball is DPS OP. Literally every other AC has some kind of great utility / Advantage from the WZ Huttball. I mean, that sucks for DPS OPs but that hardly warrants the removal of huttball, and their disadvantage really just boils down to the fact that the class is kind of lack luster in general.

I only got to watch a little bit of it, because I'm at work, but the thing I noticed right away is he has a pocket healer who's completely focusing on only him (He might even have 2 healers, I wasn't able to see). Voidstar is an amazing map for powertechs because we have a lot of AOE, throw in a pocket healer and that's going to be a wrecking ball always. I know on my PT I can hit 400k without a pocket healer. My record being something like 500k. There's no down PTs do a lot of damage, especially if they have someone watching their back to compensate for how squishy they are.
  23. You only have to be in melee range to start casting ravage. Once the channel has started, the range where it will still connect is dramatically increased. It's in the neighborhood of 15m. You have to really book it from them to get out of it, and if you're slowed forget it. At least that's how it works with juggs, and I doubt it's different for mauraders.
  24. Can't allow people to pick warzones in rated otherwise people will design their team for one warzone. For instance, an amazing team in huttball would probably not be terribly strong in the other warzones. You need to make them que for every single warzone, so that way teams aren't crafted just for Huttball etc.
