  1. Disabling premades in WZs is stupid, but they should only fight other premades. Then you have your practice ground against other premades trying to learn, and you don't muck up the other people trying to learn even more basic skills by lulfaceroll-ing them in games where they should be learning how to play.
  2. My point you is you don't learn if yout strats work, or become better, if you're crushing an unorganized team. What works against a pug may not work against a premade, you're only giving yourself a false sense of security crushing pugs with your l33t strats. To use your analogy, yes teams practice together in professional sports. What they don't do, is practice as a team by going outside the field and starting a pick up game against the kids down the block, and then crushing them. They practice against other professional teams.
  3. If only you had something like a stun, or flashbang, or evasion to make it so you didn't have to worry about railshots for a little bit to buy you some time to heal. *edit* Fun side note: Is there something I don't know about cleanses that would make 3 of them put you OOM? I mean I don't have an OP healer, but I've seen healers last longer than 3 heals.
  4. Countered... you mean like with a cleanse or any defensive CD that deflects white damage? That kind of counter?
  5. I love that Kolto overload is now on the table as being OP. This thread got pretty epic pretty fast. PLAZ DON'T NERF MY KOLTO!!!
  6. That doesn't make any sense. You don't learn anything from squashing an unorganized pug with your premade. You learn from fighting people of equal, or better skill than you. If an education is what you want, you should be in the camp that always wants to fight other premades. The only reason to not want premade on premade only is because you want your easy wins.
  7. Usually the result of that was the premade split across two teams and we fought ourselves Of course, our server was dieing back when I had a premade. It might just be a population problem, but premades should not just have priority against other premades. Premades should always fight another premade. That's just all there is to it. As someone who abused the crap out of premades for a month or so before premades died I can tell you that it's really, really easy to pug squash and it's totally not fair. It probably also contributed to people not queing anymore on my server.
  8. It's my favorite "battleground" type warzone (i.e. not huttball, because that's more of a sports game than a battle) and here's why: It's the only WZ in this category where the spawn rooms are an appropriate distance from the objective to prevent spawn zerging. When you die in coast it actually means something. Voidstar is second, because of the spawn time on the doors, but the doors are still very close to the objectives and easily defended (too easily). Civil war is the worst, as defending anything other than mid is childs play, and makes for boring games. That's my opinion anyway, I love coast.
  9. I'm on his server, and these imperials are the reason why I have so many alts There is almost no one left on our server and the few imperials that ARE actually left are complete pants on head *******. Still, I had fun playing against Eidolon back before the server totally bit the dust and it turned into 8 random scrubs vs the same Republic pre-made all day.
  10. Dear forum posters, Quick question, for anyone participating in this thread: Why are we taking the opinion of a level 17 seriously again? Sincerely, -Reason
  11. Doesn't vanish put them out of combat? I thought it did
  12. You're forgetting Kolto!!!!!1!1
  13. My Sniper is low level, but basically as has been said it's a trade-off. Sometimes you roll into an area when you don't want to roll (into a group of players, or mobs, when you wanted to plant where you are) and also LOS issues can happen. On the other hand, you get better defences with natural cover AND something that I haven't seen mentioned yet: it provides protection against pulls. For instance, and I'm especially sensitive to this because my main is a PT, if you are in cover on the ramp as a sniper one of my favorite things to do at the opening is to stun you and pull you down into my team and watch the ensuing orgy of destruction If you're behind natural cover I can't stun and pull because you'll just get caught up on the sand bags.
  14. It'll be a niche game, to be sure... the PVP is just not good though. The skill wheel, though adding some real depth and level to character creation, creates the inherent problem of now no longer having brackets to base pvp off of. All the games I've PVPed in so far, one side has had twice as many as the other 2 factions and usually there is one player in CL 10 gear, with 3 times as many ability points as everyone else. That person usually destroys. I dunno... I'll be watching the game on release but I predict F2P in 3 months.
  15. I'm in the closed beta, and let me just say that I wouldn't get my hopes up...... and also... they may have admitted their mistakes, but they certainly did not actually learn from them. The atmosphere and lore is phenominal, but that's about where the good stuff stops.
  16. This thread is pure troll gold, I love it. You people need to stop taking **** so seriously. OP: Pretty solid vid. This is pretty much the knee-jerk reaction to any PVP vid that has ever been posted ever. But, I'm sure you knew that.
  17. I quit before NGE, so I guess maybe that's where the disparity is That's different though. NGE was a total overhaul of the basic mechanics of the game. We're talking about class balance here.
  18. Did you play the same game I did? All they did was cater to the playerbase. That game turned into Jedi wars because instead of keeping it almost impossible, and an accomplishment to become a jedi, they let it devolve into a class that you just picked. All SOE did throughout the entirety of that game was cater to bads.
  19. Yes, because most players who play any game are bad at said game. If you cater to, and listen to, said bads then your game will be unbalanced and stupid.
  20. I have to admit, I'm mildly surprised this thread hasn't been closed since it's off topic and there are now more forum moderators than there are people who play this game. You'd think moderating would be pretty easy.
  21. Yeah, sadly I've moved on I'm going to check back in with 1.3 and see if they have Xserver ques yet. Le sad
  22. That really isn't how the math works. Expertise cancels itself out (Yes, even with the disparity between damage reduction and damage dealt. Run the numbers, you break about even) and then you get increased heals. If anything expertise slightly increases survivability.
  23. I guess I just don't: A) see the problem with expertise, because noobs "normal" mode is recruit gear. B) See how what you detailed would really be all that different than expertise. Noobs would still get lit up by people with superior gear.
  24. Pay attention to the video. What happened was the game bugged out and spawned them on the other side of the doors. You can plant the bomb from the backside of the door when spawned like this. :25 seconds you see the bomb explodes :28 seconds you see a jugg come in from the OTHER SIDE of the door, where he planted the bomb. Maybe you should change the title of the thread
  25. And while all that is true, and it's pretty silly for them to release a patch that deletes items; there was a big red box when you logged in today that said not to travel with your matrix cube equipped. Maybe next time if there's a big warning highilghted in red you should take the precious 5 seconds out of your busy day and read it, instead of complaining on the forums. TL;DR read big red warning signs.
