  1. Well, some day they will fix it I'm sure. Once they do you won't want to have to get different gear for Xalek again. So you might as well get the Survivor gear even if he doesn't benefit from the absorb rating. If you are getting Stalker to give him more DPS, then you are using he wrong companion if you want someone to help with DPS. My 2 cents.
  2. Oops, I was saying Power but meaning Bonus damage. I was figuring Stalkers added a total of 2(rounded) bonus damage at a loss of 20WP worth of crit bonus but wasn't sure how much crit that added with DR. I was thinking about the .1% or less that you mentioned so yeah that confirms stalkers are better.
  3. My calculations show that after Will of the Sith and Mark of Power the total power boost is 1.984 so basically 2 more power from the stalkers bracers. You gain 2 total power at a loss of 19.98 will power. Assuming the game rounds both up(which they probably don't) that's +2 power - 20 Willpower. I can't find the chart that shows DR on CR. Assuming 300ish crit how much additional crit % would you get from 20 additional WP? I would think that 20 extra WP would be worth more then 2 power. Depending on how the game rounds it could be 19 more WP with only 1 additional point of power. Edit: To make it easier to compare. Stalkers +2 Power -20 WP Force Masters: -2 Power +20 WP(How much Crit is this worth?) After looking at it more I'm guessing that 20WP gets you about .05 - .1% additional chance to crit once you are in the 30+% crit chance range. So yeah the +2 power(Stalkers) is probably better.
  4. The thread is to long so i didn't read the whole thing. It may have already been said here. If you are interrupting the channeled heal you are doing it wrong. I won't tell you how to do it the right way. If you can't be bothered to learn how the other classes work and instead just yell "Nerf Them". Then I won't be bothered to help you and instead watch you suck. Here's a hint though, try interrupting the correct heal next time. TL:DR: Learn to play
  5. With most of the XP coming from the quest rewards then the killing of mobs it's not a whole lot slower to level as a healer then it is DPS. The largest part of your leveling time is spent traveling so don't notice a huge time hit when heal spec'd. It is noticeable though. With both it's easy to stay alive and kill stuff. As a healer it's nearly impossible to die but even as a non healer just approach situations smart and you still don't die. If you want to be able to do level appropriate flash points while you level then go healer cuts down on the LFG time by a lot.
  6. I admit to using it quiet a bit in PvP. Generally not to heal myself because if I'm getting focused I don't have time to cast 2 x 1.5 sec infusions. I cast one move and then get a second ready while moving and stop long enough to cast another. So it will effect my team mates much more then it will me. Probably lose some to focus fire that I would have been able to keep up before. I knew it would eventually get fixed and knew I would have to adapt once it does so I'm not hurt by it. PvE there are very few times where I have had to use it. So it shouldn't hurt me much if at all there.
  7. Based on what you have said I would say with almost 100% certainty it's your positioning. There are only two reasons you get focused down within 20-30 seconds of coming out of the spawn. One is if you have been marked as a good healer. The other team knows you and they see the mark above your head and focus you, this generally only happens when facing a premade. The second is if you are in the wrong spot at the wrong time. Good DPS don't even get focused that hard only good healers. Good positioning isn't something that can necessarily be taught. It's more of an experience and awareness thing. Some people are naturally good at it and others need a lot of practice but everyone can be good at it. A heal spec isn't going to help your game play because you will probably still be standing in the wrong place at the wrong time. Though it might slow you down some and keep you back a little which will help you survive more. Healing can be very frustrating though, more so then DPS so if you are already getting frustrated because of dieing a lot, it will only get worse in a heal spec. My advice, play which ever you like better, heal or DPS. Get used to the maps and slow down some. Take the time to look around and see your surroundings. Know where the enemy is before you start pressing forward. Use your range to your advantage. Don't over extend yourself. You go down fast under focus. If you get to far away from the rest of your team and to close to theirs you are an easy kill. Dissb posted a video from his blog on here last week. He talks about what he is thinking when he does some things during a match. Watch it, maybe you will learn a thing or two about where you should be.
  8. Heal Spec'd PvE - It's practically never useful. With force bending it's slightly more efficient then Infusion but barely. If you in a fight where Dark Heal can be used the fight is easy and you won't have to worry about force anyways so you should be DPS'ing to help kill faster and get through the fight faster. If you are using Dark Heal because of force problems you are managing your force wrong or your group is taking tons of AoE dmg and DH won't help anyways. Heal Spec'd PvP - Don't use it a lot but it's there if Innervate is on cool down and someone just locked out your infusion. I tend to save Innervate for when infusion is locked but not 100% of the time. Non-Heal Spec'd PvP - You or whoever you are trying to save are going to die if you are casting Dark Heal to try to save their life. You would be better off DPS'ing and trying to kill the person before they kill your heal target. TL:DR - PvE never, PvP rarely but it is there for extreme emergencies.
  9. I had a guild member that was leveling up at the same time as me with a similar problem. I was having no problem and he was having difficulties. In his case it was a rotation issue He switched the the Hybrid 13/28 build and started doing much better. At 36 you can have both Wrath and Chain Lightning. It's been a long time since I've used Lightning so can't help you with the rotation. The other option is going corruption. You will kill slower but it's nearly impossible to die. Just about anyone can level up with ease using a Sorc in a corruption spec.
  10. If you are wanting to be able to DPS in PvP you will probably not be happy with the 31 point option. I spend a ridiculous amount of credits switching back and forth between healing specs and DPS spec's. I hate 32/7/2 in huttball because I solo queue most of the time and get tired of watching our DPS attack everyone but the other teams healers. Plus I get frustrated with LoS trying to heal in huttball. For our Ops I am generally needed as a healer and i enjoy healing in PvE so have to switch back to corruption spec. It's enough DPS to be able to help out in a FP when you aren't healing but it probably won't satisfy you in a warzone. It's worth giving it a try though you never know until you try it.
  11. They seem to be the most accurate but that does not mean they are 100% accurate. They are not affiliated with Bioware either so if you find problems with it their site posting in the SWTOR forums won't help you.
  12. You getting that off TorHead? I haven't checked the in game tool tip for a while but last I checked it had an amount on it in game. I noticed Torhead has the heal amount as 0 on a couple of our heals in the corruption tree. i don't think they have always been listed that way just recently.
  13. This is not entirely true. Anyone above them can target them and attack them no problem. So anyone on the ramps or the walkways leading up to the ramps can attack them without a problem.
  14. I personally think Revivification is a must have for any Sorc healer. It is what sets us apart from other healers. If you plan to do Operations you will need it. Maybe not in Normal modes though it definitely would make life easier. HM's there are times where you have to have Revivification. If you only plan to FP's and PvP you can probably get by without it, but would most likely need Force Surge for most HM FP's.
  15. PvP gear is better for PvP healing. As a PvP healer I heal with Infusion far more then Innervate. That way I have Innervate as backup when someone locks out my Infusion. So a lower CD on Innervate doesn't do much for me. Plus you get expertise from PvP gear which makes your healing that much stronger. I would never consider using PvE Force Mystics over PvP gear in a PvP situation. However some people use 2 pieces of Force Masters and 2 pieces of Mystics in PvP gear.
  16. ^ What he said. It's not supposed to effect the next two. The tool Tip is correct in that it says your next ability. It is bugged though so that you can get two if timed correctly. The same thing would happen if you just waited a second after Innervate was over to cast your next heal, it would not get the bonus from Force bending.

    Confirming that I One shot kill people all the time. I use affliction though. You can bug it by doing typing Up, Down, Up, Down, Left, Right, Start, Select, A, B, A, B, A. The initial tick then ticks for 100% of targets Health so it doesn't matter how much armor they have. Shhh...don't tell anyone.
  18. Was this in answer to my post? You can't squeeze out two Infusions if it's locked out do to Interrupt. If Innervate is on CD and you have debuff for SB then Dark Heal is your only other option. Which is why I tend to cast infusion first in PvP. If I get interrupted I can always fall back on Innervate.
  19. In PvP it is common for a smart player to interrupt Dark Infusion locking it out for a few seconds. If Innervate is on cool down you are left with few other options then Dark Heal as you or your target probably already have SB debuff on them. I always save my Jolt for Dark Infusion if trying to take down another Sorc. Dual sub 1.5 second cast Infusions is a huge amount of HP returned. If you can shut down that potential that makes the difference between them being dead or running away at near full health.
  20. 25/16 or 23/18 is a very common Sorc build. Check the sorc forums for the common variants. 0/23/18 is my build of choice for DPS PvP because I feel more survivable then the common 0/13/28. For PvP all 3 are very viable and everyone has their opinions on which is better. For PvE DPS calculators find 13/28 is far better then 25/16. If you want the lightning tree for PvE 3/31/7 is found to be better DPS then 25/16 only still less then 13/28 but not by much. You do have some wasted points though too. Electric Induction - Those points in Lightning Effusion net basically unlimited Force with Reserves. Put the 3rd point in Electric Bindings. This skill is great for surviving melees in PvP and has a lot of utility. Subversion - Useless skill. Force Lightning should be your spam skill so you won't be casting Lightning Strike. Mathematically you actually end up losing more force then you gain from the increased regen. Put those 2 points into Backlash.   21. I currently use 13/28 and rarely have problems with a corruption sorc if I run into one in Huttball. Gear related even if they are equal HP I don't have a problem. I'm currently sitting at 400ish expertise, Obviously I don't know what they are at but probably similar given similar HP unless they are just using PvE gear. No way of knowing what they are spec'd though other then seeing they have Innervate. Dueling bores me so outside of WF's I'd rarely have a chance to 1v1 a sorc or sage. Ilum i rarely see 1v1's. They can be tricky to kill obviously because of all our utility they can escape well but they will never kill me. They can be killed though too if you use interrupts, stuns, or knockbacks at the right time. I usually stun if they are using Innervate and Jolt if they are using Dark Infusion. Other then that our DPS can outpace their healing but stun/interrupt make it faster.
  22. Personally I think it is fine as is. It works just like a group buff or a debuff. If someone debuffs the mobs so it's armor is lower for 15 seconds they aren't the only ones benefiting from this debuff. Some people benifit more then others as their dmg might be more or less effected by armor doesn't mean only the person using the debuff should get the added dmg. Same goes for a buff. You buff everyones strength, willpower, etc... by 5%. If someone has more Strength then you have will power then they just got a bigger buff then you so your buff should only be useable by you now because you don't want them to benifit more from your skills. When doing group content anything you can do to help the group kill fast is value added to the group. That could come in the form of healing, dps, buffs, debuffs, etc... It's not 8 or 16 individuals doing an operation, it's a team doing an operation. If they ever implement a "Bard" type support class in this game i suggest your stay far away from it. Their whole design typically is how they can make a group work better.

  24. I've played 31 lightning spec and I don't see anymore burst potential there then a 23/18 or similar and you lose mobility. With Lightning Strike if you have to move because you are being chased you do zero dmg. With FL if you are forced to move or get pushed, pulled, knocked back, etc... you already did partial dmg and possibly triggered a wrath proc for more damage while moving. Regardless I don't want to derail the thread with discussions of PvP builds. Fact is sorc's aren't as busty as some other classes but we make up for it with mobility and utility. If you expect to be a turret putting out huge burst dmg or expect to go toe to toe with melee then Sorc isn't the class for you. OP's frustrations I still think can be cured with more expertise in his gear. Raideen probably picked the wrong class. Doesn't make him bad necessarily, just some people have different ideas of fun. I don't play tanks because I know they won't be fun for me. I don't roll a Juggernaut get it to 50 and then say it sucks because it's range burst is crap.
