  1. You'll want to use Saber Ward and Warding call. Maybe even your call upon the force so you can use saber ward twice. Use your disrupting kick and your stasis thing. A med pack and an endurance stim to if your struggling. I've just done it today and it was really easy. Then again, I'd reached level 27 before I reached that point. Edit: And don't lead with your force leap, as he has a knock back. Use force leap after the first time you get knocked back.
  2. Yeah, Kira often has her weapon out. Especially when going to a new area (through an elevator or loading screen) or jumping out a taxi. Same with Torian on the BH. But Kira is much more annoying due to the lightsabre sound and when she does put her weapon away, the blades still stay out sometimes...
  3. Twi'leks especially need to be sorted. We never have our hoods up, but hooded robes gimp our character by removing stuff we put in on character creation.
  4. Oh give it a rest. For one, not all mercs are arsenal specced. But as an arsenal merc I have 1-5, X, C, V, B (attacks that I use regularly) E, R, F, 6 (as my crowd control and knock backs) Q (shield) Alt 1 (2nd AoE) shift z, shift x, alt c and v (long cool downs) and shift 1, 2 and 3 heals). I've also got other attacks further up the line, but I don't use them much due to being situational (flame thrower) or generally useless (shoulder charge). As for my Guardian. 1. Sundering Strike 2. Force Leap 3. Smash 4. Blade Storm 5. Slash 6. Force Stasis X. Strike C. Riposte V. Master Strike Shift 1. Combat Focus Shift Z. Call upon the force Shift Q. Saber Ward Shift E. Warding Call R. Freezing Force F. Disrupt kick thing T. Taunt G. Guard I'm a biochem, so I've got reusable stims and medpacks mapped to stuff like alt + v, b and n. I'm only level 24, so that's all I've got so far.
  5. Speaking of Lekku, I used to wear the Esselles trooper chest armour (with the correct mods put in) and the bags aerial on it just stuck through the lekku I should say I only got that trooper armour due to game fail. I looted the corpse whilst the other group remember was returning to me after dieing and it didn't give the need, greed or pass options. Maybe that's how it was intended to work, but it was annoying none the less. Especially as it was bind on pickup. But yeah, Twi'leks need some work.
  6. I stand corrected. But it's still the result of a system that needs some way to define characters and put them on certain skill paths with restrictions to avoid all powerful characters. No film ever makes any mention of 'guardians' and so on. And that doesn't stop the lightsabre forms being ridiculous. "I'm going to learn a Lightsabre form that requires lots of silly turning, vast open space and has zero defense." I remember reading that Shii Cho was really good against multiple opponents but not against one? Really? REALLY? What could any Jedi possibly need other than the combined forms of Soresu and Makashi? The perfect defense and the specialist dueling skills combined.
  7. What exactly is the point in letting me customise my characters head gear as a Twi'lek, when as soon as you get any Jedi armour/robes it disapears because the silly thing has a hood? The hood isn't up for obvious reasons, but it still removes my head band thing. It's probably been said a billion times already, but Jedi robes need a no hood option.
  8. Yoda was a Jedi. This consular and Guardian and what ever stuff is just made up for games. Just like all the ridiculous lightsabre forms.
  9. Yes! That one is brilliant. Also agreed on the taking the piss out of the Jedi's mind trick.
  10. I love the BH ships. It's a working ship and It blends in like a good freelancers ship should. It's well designed with the door easily defendable from up high and with the Captains cabin in the prime position. It's got plenty of cargo storage space to. No doubt easy to find parts and replacment bits. Many people have said it, it reminds them of Serenity in Firefly. But I'd agree, it would be nice to be able to customise it a bit more.
  11. "You've got my attention" "Where do I come in?" etc etc...
  12. It really should just depend on your character. Some may want to just work with the law, tracking down fugitives or someone they can't get their hands on. Some hunters may be more willing to accept bounties placed by anybody. A bounty is basically just a reward or payment for doing something. Although historically they often came from governments, it doesn't mean in the SWs universe they can't just come from anybody with enough power or money. I tend to agree that I don't like how a lot of the side quests and even some of the class quests just have us going around killing people because they've got on somebodies nerves. If there's an option, I do try to bring them in alive.
  13. You might not be rolling a Juggernaut, but there is a fantastic guide to Juggernaut tanking (and it's probably transferable to the Guardian and maybe to the other tanks to a lesser extent) in the Juggernaut section of the Sith Warrior forum. My recomendation as a new player to MMOs and tanking to, is just to do flashpoints and heroic 4s as often as you can. Let you're group no you're relatively inexperienced and would appreciate any pointers. There's not much point trying to tank anything below Hammerstation, as you wont have any real tanking abilities. The final boss on Hammerstation is a reasonably good place to start I think. He throws out a lot of DPS and you'll need to maintain aggro on him at all times. Potentially look at youtube videos for flashpoint strategies. Some of the good ones will basically tell you what the tank has to do and look out for.
  14. Having never played an MMO before it was a struggle when I started to try tanking. But I read the Juggernaut guide in the Sith Warrior forum and that helped a lot. Still, it was really bizarre people assuming I would be leading flashpoints and heroics. Most groups were cool about it though when I explained I was new to it all. I'd try and lead, but also get helped out with desician making when I was getting it wrong. Anyway, from what I understand with my limited experience of tanking, it's really difficult for a Juggernaut to retain aggro on all the mobs with the best strategy being to CC some mobs and then stay on the elites and strongs whilst the DPS burns down the other stuff. Especially bosses, unless the ads are a real pain, I just stay on the boss whilst the DPS burns the ads down. Then again, my Juggernauts only like level 27-28.
  15. It's an interesting question. It is less clear cut what the canon storyline should be for the more neutrally aligned characters.
  16. Thanks for the advice. In what order would you recomend I add the skill points? Should I do all the tanking ones first and when I reach the top of the tree come back to the vigilance tree? Or just play it by ear a little more?
  17. I've gone down the Guardian route and I was wondering if this was an alright set up for tanking. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#500fMGsurrouRZhM.1 I've got the 5 points in vigilance as improving the aoe will help with threat and damage as will the sundering increase. Cheers.
  18. You can't do that. It's a game, you cannot force people to play one side. They'll either try another server or not play at all. Crafting benefits is really the only reasonable suggestion I've heard so far.
  19. If there's enough people to try getting a group, I do them. But most of the time it's not worth the time I waste sitting there LFG. Same with the flashpoints, I've not done one past BP, because waiting for 20-30minutes with no luck is boring. My server was queing on release to.. To many servers. Over compensated for release.
  20. So I've got a Merc to 50 and Jugga to 25. I've messed around with a Smuggler to level 10 to when I wanted a break from the levelling to 50. Started playing a Knight (Guardian) recently just to see what all the Republic fuss was about. Seems fine to me so far. It's not as inventive as the BHer storyline, but it's no more cliched than the Sith warrior was. I grant you the dialogue options arn't as fun. But they are certainly in character. I don't no what people were expecting from Jedi. The Smuggler dialogue on the other hand was great fun. Can be as big a wise *** as you want. Having big on all the start worlds, I'd rate them as follows. 1. Korriban 2. Tython 3. Ord Mantell 4. Hutta
  21. I see the gloves and boots at commendation vendors. But still can't see the chest or helmet. Frustration!
  22. Or a large number of the Imperial players realise there is a difference between being the bad guys and being a sociopath? My Bounty Hunters light to dark points is about 3:1. Targets are taken alive where possible. Dead if not. Anybody not directly involved doesn't have to die. I often get light sided points for taking the logical approach, for example turning something against the Republic or recruiting someone on defeat rather than just destroying it/them. A good percentage of available DS points are awareded for being a complete maniac. For example shooting down a Republic shuttle full of civillians just for the sake of it. Not everybody in the Empire or who works for the Empire is as heartless as a Sith. (And lets not forget when trying to keep companions happy, a lot of them would require a whole bunch of gifts if you went full on sociopath). Anyway. They really shouldn't have tied gear in with LS/DS points, it produces bland characters. Most people are more variable than either the complete paragon of virtue or the crazed killer. And on imbalance.. If they gave the BH the option to work for the Republic as well as the Empire, I certainly would. But they don't.. and I wanna play a hunter. Nope. That's all just subjective. Your personal opinion. I happen to think Jedi Shadow sounds pretty damn cool. Whilst Jedi Knight is one of the defining Star Wars images. I'd also match the BH and Trooper names fairly evenly. The only one who I'd say 'out cools' the other is the Agent. Agents are cool.
  23. It's funny, I chose Empire because the community I'm part of had a mass imbalance in favour of the Republic (Say, 12 Republicans and 3 Empire including me). I naturally assumed this would be the case on the servers to, as so many who like Star Wars are Jedi fanboys. Still, I'm honestly not suprised people think the Empire has a better story line. Jedi stories are pretty much always just full of cliche after cliche. People always like the anti-hero. The bad ***. The character who follows their own rules. I know people who have enjoyed all the storylines though.
  24. Anybody no where I can get this? I've got boots, legs and gloves through the GNT. But for the life of my I cannot find the helmet or body bits. Cheers.
  25. His training under Obi-Wan only goes as far as that initial lesson on the Falcon. He then has 3 years is it where he's training on his own. Logically, he can't have been on Degobah for that long when he leaves. However long he gets with Yoda and then another 6months to a year on his own. That's actually always been my biggest issue with the original trilogy. Luke seems to advance way to fast and with limited training. With zero lightsabre to lightsabre training he manages to hold his own against Vader and then a year later, defeat him.
