  1. Just wanted to note that a friend of mine has had the same thing happen, but didn't think much of it until I mentioned I can regularly get an average of 2-3 more purples from returns on UT/Slicing Wealthy missions. Now we're both very curious about this! EDIT: I get that it's patch day, but this was a question, not a bug report. So please, now that I've been moved out of CS, if a rep sees this... all I want to know is whether this is working as intended or not. It doesn't seem to be, but then again all my searches for threads on it have come up empty-handed -- which makes me feel like it's not a widespread problem, and prompted me to ask.
  2. I've run 3 of the 450 Light Diplomacy Wealthy consumable missions (Deep Sea Diplomacy) and I have a grand total of 10 purples and 15 blues. That's including a crit, which gave me 4 purples. This seems off to me. Before I use any more of these missions, is this a bug? Should I not be getting a minimum of 4, not 3, and more than that for a critical success? I can get those same numbers out of crits on Rich missions, so it doesn't seem right to me. (Furthermore, I'd like to know the same for the Dark missions as well, though I've not used those yet.) Thanks.
  3. I've been killed by the flames after they killed their original target before. Maybe they had a similar situation and mistakenly thought it was just aoe damage? I dunno. (Honestly, when that happened to me, it was so fast that I never even saw if I got the debuff. I was just trying to get los for a combat rez right when the healer went down, and boom.) I've seen this too, and it really confuses me. Especially when you see someone toss down a Salvation, start DPSing, and then if someone dies they apologize and say they had no power. (At that point we usually just politely ask them to not DPS and things go a bit better... usually.) On the other side of that coin, I've got a Sage healer and I use my Salvation carefully; I use it when it's needed but I don't toss it out there on CD like some seem to do. I've had people tell me I need to use it "all the time" -- on easy runs where there were no deaths and usually little to no party damage, so I only needed to heal the tank 95% of the time. Baffled. It IS a nice skill and all, but there are times when you just don't need it so much.
  4. Forums -> Classes -> Sith Inquisitor/Jedi Consular -> Sorcerer/Sage Sorcerer is here. Sage is here. Look through them both, since they're essentially discussing the same things.
  5. It received an augment slot because your companion had a critical success while crafting it. This had nothing to do with REing your purple implant. As was stated, purple is the highest you can get. When you click on the RE tool, then hover over the item you intend to RE, you will be able to see your chances at getting a new schematic. If there are schematics available, it will say so. If not, it will tell you there is no research available.
  6. This is the Suggestion Box sub-forum. OP is doing exactly what this is meant for -- suggesting things for future game updates. Most of what he listed is just expanding on things that are already in-game, and by your own logic most of it can be done in a group. (Though you are wrong about 100% of the game being group play, as space missions are solo play. And very boring.) If you felt you had a good idea for a new raid, I would hope you'd post the idea here. That's not complaining... it's putting things in the suggestion box. I'm utterly baffled by your reaction to OP's suggestions. ~~~~ OP, I don't agree with all your ideas, but I do like some of them. For instance, while it'd be nice to see some better items on the reputation vendors, I know the odds are pretty low that something spectacular will show up there instead of on the Cartel Market. Granted, I was pleased with the dye recipes for Voss and Section X... but I feel the other vendors fell short on the possibilities. Likewise, I'd rather not see something like an awesome crystal color show up for, say, Makeb, while all the other vendors got underwhelming ones. ("This one isn't blue, it's cobalt. Sure, it's only a sliiiiiiiightly different tint and not at all what people were asking for, but hey! The name is cobalt!") Unique crafting patterns dropping from a node? No thank you. I would rather see a rare chance to receive a special recipe from REing, if anything at all. It would have to be worthwhile, though. Very worthwhile. Animal husbandry? Not interested in this one, not unless they go all out with a beast master class of some sort like SWG originally had -- and I don't think they're going to do that. It would be hard to make it fit, anyhow, I would think. Instead, I'd rather just see more pets acquired through a sort of puzzle, like the baby tauntaun on Hoth or the various birds. Item building... the idea is interesting, but only if they do something beyond just tossing more random items into the game. If they are BOP, then give us a new wallet/inventory tab where the items are stored, so they don't take up inventory space. If they are BOL, find a way to add them to the Legacy panel, then maybe have a small fee or something (SMALL!) to retrieve the item on any character once all the pieces are found. If it is neither, give us another inventory tab which allows items to be traded out, but becomes the default destination for items of a similar nature; likewise, items such as the depleted datacron from Hoth could go in this tab. Fixing the achievements... this goes without saying. Though I thoroughly disagree with Cartel items being in the achievements (they should be separate and only in Collections, IMO) and therefore care very little about the whole thing in general. Speaking of, however, there's already an achievement similar to your suggestion for killing mobs on each planet. Maybe not ultra-rare like you said, but it is there. (Or perhaps I should say, "They are all there," because it might be planet-based... not sure now that I'm thinking about it.) Heroic 2 stuff... honestly I'd rather see a few new 2-man flashpoints, with eventual HM versions. Extra bonus points for companion interaction within the FPs. With the exception of some heroics requiring 4 people due to uninspired "everybody pushes a button" mechanics, I find that doing most or all of the existing H4s is easy with two people. My grouping partner and I were running the Black Hole H4s before we were even geared halfway decently, and at that point the challenge was fun without costing us too much time. So in my opinion the heroics are just dailies in an instance right now, and I'd rather see some challenging 2-man content that really plays on the active companions and possibly even the classes involved. Events with guild involvement? Yes please, so long as they aren't centered entirely on sheer numbers. Any number of things would be better than the "1% XP per 5 active accounts, up to 10%" idea they've got going at the moment. However, I do not like the idea of a weekly (or otherwise timed) guild buff. I would rather see more permanent guild perks, especially ones that have to do with QOL or convenience rather than XP boosts. Pod racing... nah, I'd rather see them take that random NPC from Republic Taris, the one looking for swoop engine data, and make him into some billionaire swoop-racing revivalist. Or, perhaps the opposite, and have a whole new quest chain dedicated to either getting him his fame or siding with an idea-stealing opponent of his. On the whole, I don't think your ideas are bad. Maybe not what I would like to see FIRST, but I wouldn't be disappointed about a few of these things.
  7. I got a few of these today doing Seeker Droid treasure areas. Any idea what they're for yet? My Treasure Hunting is at 450 and I've only ever gotten Rainbow or Mytag.
  8. I have found a few bugs while using the seeker droid. Please note that changing instances, clearing the cache, running repairs, or restarting the client are not workarounds; I have tried all these things and it does not seem to make any difference. 1. An "interesting item" find rewards you with nothing. 1a: The droid grabs nothing with its arm, but you get the interesting find message. The surrounding area still indicates something is nearby. (This was also mentioned here and is, I believe, the same problem.) 1b. The droid grabs the big, ornate box and brings it to you, but you receive nothing. Nothing is mailed to you either, whether or not you have inventory space available. No circle appears after the scan and further scanning indicates nothing is nearby. 2. Mysteriously disappearing items nearby. Simply put, you follow the breadcrumbs around for a few casts and then, suddenly, nothing is nearby any more. This is not a case of someone else picking up the item, as this has happened numerous times while nobody has been anywhere near. Going back and retracing your steps does not help -- the item you were hunting has just vanished into thin air and there are no more indicators of something nearby. Furthermore, I don't believe this is a case of the area resetting, as I have had this happen several times in a row and/or mixed within successful digs. (i.e. Dig #1 success, Dig #2 ten minutes later fails, Dig #3 5 mins later success, Dig #4 10 mins later fails, Dig #5 15 minutes later fails... etc.) 2a: I suspect that this is either related to the previously mentioned bug OR it is a problem with layers somehow overlapping. I have noticed that this happens most often on Hoth when I am on a low-pop layer and there is at least one or two more layers going. Switching layers while this is happening always results in the new layer having an active treasure area in the same spot. 3. Seemingly disproportionate rewards. 3a. The ever-annoying "interesting item" is a crappy piece of green armor, when five steps away a normal success brings a much more valuable (if still undesirable) blue piece of armor. While this may not be a bug per se, it is highly bizarre and does not seem to be working properly. 3b. Simply put, my Sith Assassin seems incapable of finding speeder parts. I have used her seeker droid more than any other character's, yet she is 0/0 for any and all parts. Meanwhile, my Smuggler and Sage have both found a speeder part, and I have searched treasure areas with them only a couple times each. Location does not seem to make a difference either. Perhaps this is just bad luck, but it seems like ridiculously bad luck. For what it's worth, my SA is farther along on the seeker droid and macrobinoculars quest lines than any of my other characters, but I have purposely not finished them to avoid getting nothing but Dreadseed armor. 3c. Speaking of, I know more than one person who, after finishing the aforementioned quest lines, find armor piece after armor piece but rarely anything else for special treasures. 4. Seeker droids become unusable from the quickbar and must be cleared from/re-plopped into the slot. This actually happens with the macrobinoculars as well. Resetting the UI does nothing to help. I keep my droid and binoculars in the extended quickbars and they tend to go unclickable at random intervals; usually it will be just after or before doing a quest that requires their use. So, to be clearer: Log in, nothing seems amiss -- complete quest using droid or binoculars -- move to treasure area and suddenly cannot click on droid/binocs/either one via the quickbar -- must unlock quickbars, clear the desired slots, and re-plop the mission items in. Obviously not a game breaking bug but it can get aggravating. I think that's all I've found so far. Apologies if these have been covered in this forum before, but I did not find a related bug report using the search bar.
  9. Been playing since beta as well and still pretty pleased with the game. Happily pre-ordered Makeb as soon as I could and still feel it was worth it. I even enjoy helping out on the PTS when I can. Sometimes I feel like taking a little break but that's normal for me... I am not big on raiding and I pretty much only play solo or with real-life friends and family, so I feel as though the TOR model is just right for my play style. Will continue to sub for the foreseeable future. Only thing I don't really enjoy doing frequently is top-level PVP. I enjoy it while leveling because it can be so random (yeah some matches are awful and frustrating, but some are awesome too) and it's good for skipping some of those side quests I've done a bazillion times. But I burnt out on top-level matches like a year ago and don't really feel like I'm missing out by not playing them. Yeah, there are a lot of little things I'd change if I could and I don't always agree with dev decisions... but hey, that comes with any game, even single player games.
  10. No offense, but why? I often jump in to down a quest mob, whether it be one that requires a manual respawn or one that will respawn on a timer. Usually the person will stick around and kill mine with me, sometimes even if the timer is a long one. In my opinion, the people who are the real problems are the ones who cruise up at the last minute, refuse to group, and try to steal the respawn. Those people are part of the reason why I do what I do as well -- not only do I not know if one of them is going to show up, causing me to wait even longer, but if it's a timed respawn then I can group with the person I helped and have one more person ready to try and get the tag when the mob shows back up. I don't think I've ever had a person complain about what I do. Sometimes they just leave and don't say a word, but that's fine. Other times they'll toss a buff even if I don't need it as a way of saying thanks, and then be on their way. But every single day I see people complaining about that other kind of person (ninjas, etc.) and I'm pretty sure many people feel that kind of behavior is like virtually giving someone the finger.
  11. Yep, this has happened in two groups I've been in. It seems a big AOE (or targeted AOE like the dual saber throw) will pull the mobs from above. I guess the safest way to avoid it if you need to is to only use single target dps in that spot... haven't actually tested this out yet though. It's kind of fun to fight them all at once though.
  12. I might be wrong, but I think that is a robe already in the game... it looks like the "classic" version of the Preceptor robe.
  13. I have actually seen the opposite -- a healer (Commando) queued as DPS, who kept healing even when the whole group was within 5% of full health and in no danger whatsoever. I've also seen this where a person was apparently trying to dual-box (they didn't admit to it, but it seemed like it) as a tank and healer combo... needless to say it was pretty awful; after several wipes we finally made it to the end and the tank repeatedly ended up facing away from the boss while the "DPS" kept "accidentally" healing. Lately though I have to say I'd prefer something like this over the impatient attitude I keep encountering in GF. I actually had a level 55 tank wipe the group in Kaon for no reason because of his impatience. Then he cussed about it and barked at people to hurry up when they were trapped in combat due to his boneheaded decisions. I totally understand the desire to push through stuff but sometimes people are idiots about it.
  14. My favorite item is also the broken, sputtering, sparking speeder from the Chevin event. I wish it would scale, because I want to use it forever. Add me to the list of people wanting to know if that Xenotech Agent's jacket is still in-game (or if we will be seeing a new white moddable Agent jacket in the future). I tried so hard to get my hands on one before the update and had the absolute worst luck. I would like so much to have my Agent in dress whites!
  15. No pet is granted when you use EA Cash Cards, unfortunately. It's just a way to buy coins without entering your credit card info. Definitely keeping an eye out at my local Best Buy for the new SWTOR cards/codes though; I want the cat as well.
  16. Yes, you can use the EA Cash Cards to buy coins. All you have to do is go through the swtor website as if you were going to buy coins, then hit "change" when you see your default payment info. Then choose the option that says to use your EA balance, and then (under EA Account info, at the bottom) redeem the code(s). Then buy your coins with your new EA points balance. I did it to test it out with $40 worth and it worked fine, then ordered some online from Best Buy for a friend who doesn't live very close to any big shopping areas. They went through the same process and it worked out fine. So, I can definitely say it works. Only down side is you'll end up with a couple cents left over in your EA wallet.
  17. I would really like to see the outfit worn by Master Oh'Dvek (the Consular Rakata Gear vendor). http://imgur.com/CtrPY Either just like that or with some different color variations.. and please without exposing the midriff on the ladies.
