I like the game quite a bit but am very concerned that less than a year into its existence it's going F2P. I have seen F2P implementations and the games are never the same, the community will remain small overall and it will be up to the few hardcore who are willing to spend more than $15/month to keep the game going. But my concerns about the actually effect of F2P on gameplay aside, I just worry from a business perspective that EA has been so far off the mark with this game.

You're damn right about the ugly looking armor. My 50 smuggler is wearing the gunslinger vest I got around lvl 15 because I can't find anything that looks better. Anyway, yes share your feelings on the announcement, just a sense of confusion and distrust, I guess the best way to put it is my faith has been shaken that these guys know what they're doing. I'm aware of and have experienced the F2P implementations in other games, and while I was hoping to never see it here, secretly I thought it might be 24 months before it happened. But less than a year in? Yikes.

People keep talking about how awesome DDO and LOTRO F2P is ... I've played both of those games when they launched and then again recently ... DDO is still as boring as ever, and doesn't seem to have had 1 graphics upgrade since it launched. LOTRO is a good game, but it is buried by the constant references to the store everywhere in game, and in fact I recall getting quests in game to open the store and buy stuff with tokens provided by the quest, as a way to get me to look at the store. F2P I'm sure will be appealing for some but get ready for endless ads and marketing attempts to drive you to the store. Constantly.

actually no it annoys me that the sound fades out after a while. when I start that thing up I want to hear it! it's one of the main reasons I play a jedi, to have that iconic sound! in fact i'm still using the starter saber with updated mods because it's the only one that has the startup/idle sound from the movies. what I would like is for my companion to put her saber away when I put mine away

Han was not much of a stealthier (ANH: "I prefer a fight to all this sneaking around!") and certainly not a healer so I wouldn't consider scoundrel a fit. I guess gunslinger would be the closest match, he did use cover quite a bit, and I do seem to recall him kiting a squad of stormtroopers aboard the death star …

Corso is awesome. Reminds me of Tripp from Enterprise. He's got the best lines and is a dude I would want to hang out with at parties if he was real … LOL The thing is … we get a wookiee on Nar Shadaa… a WOOKIEE, people … smugglers & wookiees, peanut butter & jelly … the sun and the moon … starsky & hutch … this is How It Should Be If you're a smuggler how can you not want to walk around with a gigantic wookiee at your back? Today I found myself wishing I could take Corso and Bowdaar out at the same time. Oh the stories we would have...!

I would like to see the ladder leading to the turrets get used at some point. Maybe something like in ME3 where you have to man a turret a few times, Bioware has the tech to do it so why not? "Bowie you drive I'm heading to the turret!" would be awesome...

eh I think putting dyes in the game would have been a better way to go. It would be another credit sink, might give crafters something new to do, etc. But at least I can get my smugglers white and light blue boots to match his navy blue and maroon jacket now

After playing 1.2 on the PTS I'm having a hard time logging into LIve again. The changes are that significant.

First thing I noticed last night on PTS Tython was 100+ peple in the zone. Guess this patch is getting a lot of interest! I set all the graphics options to high including the new settings, and I was really surprised at how well it runs. With the better textures (texture atlasing) turned on, and shadows on high, I was getting consistent 60fps in most areas, and around the jedi temple where there were a lot of players it dropped to mid 40s. This is a massive improvement vs Live where I ultimately turned shadows to Low to get a steady framerate. Quite surprised with the performance improvement. I can only guess they must have made some optimizations under the hood, it would explain why they are finally willing to add texture atlasing for regular gameplay.

It looked like Dooku was going to use Ventress to help him overthrow Sidious, but Sidious either caught wind of it or foresaw it, he confronted Dooku and Dookue betrayed her to save his own neck. it was the one time we've seen Sidious angry with Dooku.

I thought the 3D was decent. The overall picture quality was outstanding, much sharper than I remember it on original theater release. I don't know if that's purely the 3D or if it's other "cleaning up" they did on this version. Brought my kids who have seen the movies many times, but really there is nothing like seeing SW in the theater, regardless of which movie it is. It's just ... better.

I think Anakin was a kid with an enabling mother and no father who was allowed to do whatever he wanted. And he chafed at the controls the Jedi placed on him especially as a teenager. Basically, if someone told him he couldn't have it, he wanted it all the more. Palpatine's "you can have it all" insinuations were sweet music to Anakin's ears. Also, Anakin doesn't seem like the sharpest knife in the drawer...

wow actually PVPing in ilum eh ... I can't even get out of the first area with my shadow since if I get within 10 feet of an npc in stealth i get pulled out and jumped by that group and the pat that eventually walks by ... can't rez near any mobs either because as soon as I enter rez stealth I get knocked out of that too ... the whole zone is just poorly balanced, the jump in difficulty between corellian lvl 50 mobs and the ilum mobs makes it completely unenjoyable. I tabbed out of the game to post this after having died on rez twice in a row, since Ilum mobs can see you when you're in rez stealth. Gotta go repair now.

I am not a powergamer by any stretch. I have one recent 50 that I've started doing warzones with and it's just an extraordinarily frustrating experience. I get that the geared people should win 1v1 but the grind to get geared when you're nothing more than cannon fodder seems excessive. I fear the entry barrier for new 50s into pvp is going to continue to rise until all that is left is a small community of geared players battling each other all the time. Also, I don't know what is up with Ilum, but even doing the first line of quests in the starting zone seems excessively hard. It feels very unbalanced to me.

Goto the starship upgrades vendor at the fleet station and use your commendations to buyt he blue item for your ship that allows you to boost power to your weapons or shields.

Wish shadow you really have to learn to use your interrupts. Force stun & low slash, mind snap. Use them while the elite is winding up an ability.

I used to use dirty kick, then I took an arrow in the knee
