  1. I am convinced that crit crafting is broken for ceratin ckmbinations of profession+item level being crafted. I filed a bug report. They tried to tell me it was working as designed. I gave them examples; they finally agreed to forward on to the developers.
  2. Mustafar Naboo and whatever else appears in I - III. IV - VI are lame. Begin flame now!
  3. It's not that we question if it is in principle possible. What I want them to admit is that the chance of getting a crit on a rakata crafted item is somehow not in line with what they should be. For example for synth Jaesa should have at least a 20% chance.
  4. Submit a bug request and ask to refund the mats and please post the results. I asked for my mats to be refunded...
  5. Look at my last post in this thread http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=433602 I got that information from this thread on another site: http://mmo-mechanics.com/swtor/forums/Thread-Crew-Skills-Compendium?page=18
  6. Juggernaut here as well. I critted braces before 1.2 I can't seem to crit the belt after the 1.2 update. I think it's broken. I filed a ticket and they gave a generic response and closed it. I am going to keep filing until they acknowledge a bug. If this is indeed a bug, I suspect it only affects Rakata, or Purple, or Yellow difficulty. Critting orange gear is not a problem, the crit chance appears to be right in the 20-25% range. Critting Rakata, for me - definitely broken.
  7. Are you questioning my math? 20% is exactly a 1 in 5 chance. Go ahead and argue with this, your **** is fun to read.
  8. They confirmed that that is a bug, I have a support ticket that says so.
  9. Maybe its just Rakata. But it ain't right. There is a problem with that crit chance on Rakata. I've critted other things and missions. it's not right.
  10. RNG crafting in swtor wouldn't have been too bad if the crit craft rate was decent. On some things (rakata) the crit chance is way too low, nowhere near the 20% it should be for my fully affectionate Jaesa.
  11. It may be "all about the averages" but when you are trying to crit craft something like a rakata belt, which is, along with the braces, the only reason right now to have synthweaving, you are not at liberty to keep trying 30 times or more because of the biometric crystal alloys. I just don't have that many. I am asking for my materials back until this is fixed. A belt is a "yellow" difficulty item, so a fully maxed Jaesa should have a 20% crit chance on it (10 base for yellow, 5 affection, 5 jaesa). It's nowhere near that, and plenty of other people have posted having tried 20 or more times. The chance of having a streak of 20 with no crit is 1-(0.8)^20 or about 1%. Grey difficulty items crit as they should about 25% of the time. It is either yellow or rakata, but it's broken. I am asking for my materials back.
  12. Exactly. The "grey" difficulty items have critted for me, at about the rate I would expect them to (25%). The "yellow" difficulty, I had _none_ since 1.2. Until our guild sort of fell apart, we had regular raids and I saved up a few crystals. Now I want them back until they fix the crit rate.
  13. I tried more than 5 times. Assuming a dozen tries, the chance of NOT getting a crit assuming a 20% success rate is (0.8) ^ 12 = 0.07, or 7%. Which leaves a 93% cerntainty that I would have gotten a crit. People here reported longer streaks of not critting rakata, over 20. For 20 tries, its a 99% chance of getting a crit (1 - 0.8^20). I don't want to keep going and get to 20 and be in the same boat. Those biometric alloys are not trivial to get, especially with our current server population issues and the effect it has on finding raid groups, the economy, etc. I am asking for the materials to be restored until they fix it.
  14. I just spent fifteen biometric allows trying to crit rakata belt on my warrior. Nothing. Jaesa has a +5% bonus. Mine also has 100% affection (another +5%). Rakata belt is a 'yellow' mission (10% base crit chance). I should get 1 in 5. I should have gotten at least one crit. Something is definitely broken with crit crafting. I have had crits on 'green' items and lower level orange itmes. But not on rakata.
  15. Reposting here so its all in one place. I need to check if 400 synth makes the rakata belt crafting a yellow or green. If it is green, the chance of crit then should be 15% (base green) + 5% (affection max) + 5% (jaesa bonus), i.e. 1 in 4. --- --- --- --- Chance to Crit/Fail and Affection Bonuses: The prfProfessionInfoPrototype node has some basic info on all the crafting skills. But, what caught my eye the most were sections that indicate chance to crit, chance to fail, and crit and efficiency maximums for companion affection. Crafting crew skills cannot fail. Harvesting and mission skills have a base failure rate based on difficulty: Grey = 0% Green = 1% Yellow = 5% Orange = 10% All crew skills have a base crit chance based on difficulty: Grey & Green= 15% Yellow & Orange = 10% And, the affection crit maximum is 5% and the affection efficiency maximum is 15%. Presumably, this is if you have maximized companion affection, and I don't know how these bonuses scale for affection less than maximum. I also assume that affection bonuses add to the base rates, plus any bonuses the individual companion has. Edit: See here for the formula for the affection efficiency bonus, which the reddit user Deimous worked out.
  16. <superceeded by my latest post>
  17. So, my Jaesa has a +5 critcal synthweaving. What is the base crit craft chance? Do we know?
  18. I am surprised that more people are not chiming in. Yeah yeah i know "one week was plenty" blah blah. Still - what am I supposed to do with the DNA??
  19. To sell stuff, I would suggest slicing. Purple sliced tech parts (lvl 50, of course) sell like hotcakes.
  20. http://www.swtor.com/legacypromotion I have not gotten mine yet...
  21. Signed. Also all the other orange crafted gear. What am I supposed to do with it????
  22. you are right, no cooldown, dunno why I wrote that...
  23. Pardon me if this has already been answered, I googled.... I am leveling a Merc, currently arsenal spec. Power shot: activation 1.5s, heat 16, cooldown 15s Tracer missle: activation 1.5s, heat 16, cooldown 15s, plus: more damage than PS and adds heat signature effect. Why would I keep "power shot" on my quickslot bar and ever use it? thanks in advance!
