  1. I hope their version of 3D space combat has a control system like Freelancer. I never could play flight sims or space sims worth a crap with their oddball control systems, but I could easily grasp Freelancer's control system from the start and got quite good at engine kill + thrust + missile/torpedo kills. Heck I managed to play through the storyline with zero deaths in the starter crapflier. And yet no game since has ever used that control system. I really don't understand it. It was fluid and easy to understand, so flight sims must stay as far away from that as possible in favor of horribly complicated and outlandish control systems? Content that I'd like? How about a way to earn social points that's actually ya know social? I don't really care what it ends up being as long as its fun and players interact with each other, not spam space bar in BT for hours on end because that's the most effecient way to climb the absurdly high social ranks (social speeder requires social level 5 for a level 25 speeder... who on earth has social 5 at 25 unless you have a leveling partner or something similar?). Geeze you have cantinas and casinos and even strip clubs (and houses of ill repute too), use them already! Heck give peeps a single point for buffing others while not in sanctuary, that's more social than spacebar spamming!
  2. Couldn't pull off its mirror space mission Sullust Interception with level 5 upgrades...yeah LEVEL 5 two whole tiers above the "recommended" level 3 stuff. Wrote a ticket saying it was overtuned by far, the copypasta droid mistakenly copypasta'ed his email reply which had nothing to do with the mission asking to fill out the copypasta questions in the email (which was never sent either BTW) "What level were you?", "Mission Name?", "Server ID number? (W.T.H. is a server ID number?!)", "What was the name of the bad NPC that touched you?". Standard questions for regular missions that have nothing to do with space combat missions. And when I questioned this sillyness, my ticket was deleted..... Wow SWTOR, you really go above and beyond with that old customer service now don'tcha? No wonder EA was voted Worst Company In America.
  3. Yes 50s armor is horrid and many of the lower level armors (modable or not. this is why we wanted to RE stuff we find into orange shells BW, not just a few but many!) "fit" Star Wars far better than anything that is endgame. I saw one helm on my alt and thought, "What on earth is that stupid fin thingy doing on Sith Warriors head?". Some things I'd like to see. More pants maybe include some shorts too ala Lara Croft. It would kinda fit with smugglers (at least my smuggler). Female Twi'leks typically wore tighter, more revealing clothing to maintain their elegant figures and enhance their value to males. So something kinda sexy would be fitting assuming there are female Twi'leks wearing them. I know my Sorc looks kinda odd in all those heavy robes. Get those girls some pants! More slinky stuff. If I'm gonna wear a dress, I want something with some slink. You don't have to dress like a prostitute to be sexy, but to only wear stuff that would make monks say "ugh that looks drab!" is going past safe and headed toward Puritanism! And on a similar vein, why add the buttflap to the Imperial Dancer's outfit? It looks out of place and it clashes with the outfits style. The buttflap belongs on the slave outfit as that is iconic Star Wars, but really it just looks silly on the imp dancer's outfit. Can my Jedis and Juggs get some heavy armor that looks like heavy armor (Jedi/Sith style of course) kind of like the guy on the load screens I see far too much of? Bits and pieces of heavy armor but with plenty of cloth (or whatever the flexible stuffs may be) at the joints for maneuverability. Robes are ok, but since lightsabers are weak as a regular sword in the game (slight exageration I know but we've seen them penetrate BLAST DOORS FFS in the movies) might as well trade some movement for some anti-slash/anti-blaster defenses. Why must my smuggler be deprived of the cool trenchcoat look the agents can have? Han wore a trench look on Endor and that "Imma Space cowboy!" thing just doesn't work for me. I maybe might like to not advertise the fact I'm packing two blasters to every cop/security guy that I see (And where on earth are scoundrels hiding those shotguns?!), you know on account that I'm a SMUGGLER WITH A PRICE ON MY HEAD!!!!!!! And how better to hide the fact you're armed to the teeth than a long coat? And one last thing. If I ever manage to get a Twi'lek to 50 on a server I have room, I want to make a Darth Talon lookalike. Darth Talon And to think she'd be wearing so much bulky junk is beyond appaling! Put some sexy stuffs for fem Sith Warriors in there guys!
  4. Vibrosword, Lightsaber, Double-bladed Saber, Techblade, Techstaff, and Electrostaff are the level 20 melee custom-builts. Assault Cannon, Blaster Pistol, and Blaster Rifle are the level 20 custom-builts for ranged. I believe all have a level 50 (Elegant) counterpart, but I'm not 100% on that one.
  5. Okay, I know little about computers and even less about the coding that goes on in an MMO. My last attempt at understanding anything multiplayer was back when I was trying to mod Freelancer. And even someone with as little knowledge as myself can see there are some serious issues with the game engine itself and how it interacts with the players PC. It hogs more memory than anything I've played that wasn't a bug that got resolved asap, yet it persists to this day months after launch. Game crashes, game freezes, game errors that require a HARD REBOOT!!! Now that last one just kind of boggles the mind. What on earth is SWTOR doing to my system that locks it down so hard that even alt+ctrl+del can't make it stop? I want this game to succede, really I do! I love Star Wars! I played SWG, even every now and then after NGE! But your poorly optimized engine is shooting SWTOR in the foot even moreso than some of your questionable desicion making reguarding class balance, customer service (or lack of), misdirections (ie lies) towards your playerbase (as in the "You will be able to RE almost any orange and learn the schematic for an empty shell of it!" 1.2 drops "Oh we never said that! You misunderstood! What, you can link where I said exactly that? Preposterous! Close this thread!"), ect. The list goes on guys but people would be a bit more willing to put up with such...things...if the game actually worked propperly. As it stands SWTOR is a bug ridden, horribly optimized, pretty much unplayable mess for a large chunk of your playerbase that are having to put up with the above BS as well. And you tell them it because their PCs are garbage....right. Its no wonder servers are ghost town for the most part. In closing: ~This is the thread that never ends, it just goes on and on my..."friends"! Some guy posted it in General long ago, but mods moved it to Suggestion Box to kill it. Even so! This is the thread that never ends!~
  6. Good event, could have been better. Give people more notice then one little thread in General forum. Many people that play don't haunt forums day and night. If they read them at all its for specifics. Next time just put it up on a launcher notice. World bosses. Nice idea, but having to wait for spawns is just bad. Didn't get a single kill of any boss on my 50. Also don't like the idea of bosses in PvP areas. Keep PvE and PvP seperate. The daily system was just silly. Don't have a poorly advertised, short duration event have a series of daily unlocks. That's just being obnoxious. The freaking RNG companion thing. Should have just been a straight up purchase (increase the cost if you had to) of the companion customization you want. Its not cool getting Kira over and over again when you don't even have one Jedi, let alone the dozens RNG seems to think players have with an 8 slot character limit per server. RNG has no place in short duration world events (or anywhere really IMO). RNG systems are just the lazy way to make people do a bunch of things they really don't want to have to do. Event was pretty freaking short. I didn't find out about it until the 19th, so I missed out on a gear piece (despite the fact it was stated if you started on the 19th you could get everything. bad form that). Now I did love that most things were BoE. The outfits would have been nice to be bind to legacy. My lowbie inqis (only character of any of my 50 characters that actually has any social at all) would have looked awesome in it. Alas she was far too low as I keep her low to eek out what little social I can from BT runs. Now that was kinda irritating. The fact things were farmable (except the quest gear) was a huge plus. Vaccine was kinda high. Poor low levels with 5k credits to their names when they hit fleet just lost a good chunk of thier credits trying to stay uninfected to quest. All in all decent first try guys. Just need to polish it up a bit is all.
  7. There are multiple instances of Mako preferring the darkside options, from Kaas City on. You just have to be willing to spend 20 minutes per convo to find the optimum route. Try is sometime. Select the darkside and get ready to hit esc asap, but you might be suprised at how many dark options she's more than happy to go along with. Probably why my BH isn't full light yet. Too many times its just far more satifying to crack some skulls with little Mako urging you on.
  8. Did this quest last week with my level 26 heals scoundrel. The Sith and Jedi will keep each other at 80% forever if you don't bother them, so the real trick is to get the guy away without aggroing the Sith. Basically put Corso (no hairball! he does aoe and when he doesn't his dps is crap. use Corso on bosses) on passive and burn him as much as you can while he's Jedi whatsified. When he gets free you should have plenty of aggro just run out of his range (I used the pool with the ramp no hostile NPCs there). He will take the time to heal himself up before he chases you. Let him, better to have to do damage again than to get Sith stomped! When he is WELL CLEAR of the forcefight (did I make a new word?), sic Corso on him. Now I was heal specced so I stupidly just tried healing Corso. That is pointless as Corse it teh sucks at interupts! So after ten minutes of that (yes I actually healed Corso for ten solid minutes on that guy. live and learn), I tried dpsing him as much as possible and handling as many interupts as I could. Worked like a charm. This was all one attempt didn't need a second.
  9. Crafters lose money making decent quality low level items. Hardly anyone buys them when you make them anyway so its a pretty pointless endeavour all around.
  10. Uh...if you want to make steady (not substantial mind you but steady) profits with slicing atm, only send your companions out on moderate yeild missions. The level doesn't matter as much as the importance that it be a moderate yeild mission. So say your max level slicing and there is one moderate per level. Do them rather than consistintly lose credits on anything higher than moderate. The credits are nowhere near as good as they were before this silly bug, but at least you aren't losing credits. And if I get a green/blue box I just don't open it in the hopes when/if this is fixed they'll have the correct amount of credits inside. Probably not going to but not like I'll make anything off them as they are anyway.
  11. I wouldn't mind the event ending so soon if the containment set was legacy bound. I mean my BH has zero use for it, none of the companions use light armor. But it sure would have looked nice on my low level Inqis who has stayed low level just to try to get social points from running BT over and over. Didn't realize it would be ending so soon until I happened across this tiny arsed thread. Really guys, a heads up next time (on the freaking game launcher! not on a single thread on general forums that many don't bother to look at anyway!) would be nice. Even the day of. I had no clue what was going on as I was busting my hump trying to hit 50 on my Jugg.
  12. After all the bad luck stories and my own personal horrid luck with RNG of any type, I'm not going to even bother trying to get them despite how cool I think some of them look. Bad call, you drove me away from grinding even more DNA due to your poor descision to implement RNG into a short event. Get it through your heads, RNG does not belong in short (possibly one time only) events!
  13. Amen to that! So apparently I'm in the "You blind idiot! It was on the PTS/Devtracker (or whatever) forums! You should have known that what a lead dev said was a clear misrepresentation of what the reality would be! DUH! L2Readcrapsomeplaceyounormalydon'tlookatorevenknowexisted!" crowd. Here I was hoping to RE some of the orange gear from FPs. I was all excited about crafting "shell"s. Didn't care about making credits (I'm a crafter in SWTOR after all), I was into the "Wow that's freaking cool!" factor. Well that ain't happening, and I'm a sad panda. 1.2 has just been a huge letdown for me overall.
  14. Funny to see gaming history repeating itself yet again. Do these devs just refuse to learn from the mistakes of other companies? What am I reffering to? Why, WoW of course! During Wrath, a part (probably a small part) of the community were complaining about how easy endgame was (normal modes yeah, hardmodes? not so much. but don't let armchair quarterbacks without a single hardmode kill to their name go unheard!). Then we had ICC (and ICC only) for a year. Subs were down and the A Team was already working on Titan (and had been since Ulduar. raid in a box? B Team at its...whatever!). So when they roll out Cata they do two things. One: Make heroics that had once been annoying multi hour sessions to clear in BC (which they admited was a mistake and that far too few saw heroic content in BC), had become quick 15-20 romps in Wrath (knock out a heroic before work even with longer dps queues? no prob!) into multi hour trash kill hellholes and bosses with one shot killer moves (hows that for repeating stated mistakes eh?). Two: Nerf the holy hell out of healers. Why? Because after a year of ICC when every single level 80 alt had been geared to the nines, suddenly the heroics were too easy! Imagine that! Epic gear from the final raid bosses of the xpac made heroics tuned to fresh 80s at the beginning of the xpac something of a joke! Who could have forseen such a strange turn of events! Certainly not the B Team! Anywho, they nerfed the life out of healers, their resource regen everything to the point that a level 80 healer could outheal a level 85 healer (percentage wise) so healers "felt" substantially weaker. Results? Even after bribing, buffing and dang near begging still healers are few and far between as opposed to Wrath where you couldn't shake a stick without hitting a healer. Fewer people run heroics and those that do run with guildies (except maybe the newer ones dunno haven't played in months and those are noticebly more Wrath style tt boot! derp!). WoW has hemmoraged subs since Cata where condecending elitist devs (that BTW don't understand the mechanics of the classes they are in charge of) tell players with legitimate concerns to suck it up and "L2P". We told them players wouldn't want to pay to play a weaker version of themselves. They knew better, cause some magic numbers buried somewhere that players can never gaze upon them told them so. Well guess they were right. Realms are deader than a year of no new content could make them. Guess if that was the outcome they were going for.... If only they had chosen one path or another, things might not have gotten so bad. But they made overtuned (for the average WoW player) content and then put the rest of the burden solely on the backs of healers (cause they sure nerfed those heroics fast. not fast enough to wash that first impression away, hence the "I don't want to bother" feeling in WoW) but still insisted that they knew better (thanks to those numbers herpa derpa) than to give healers back their heals. Well until .... some stupid patch I can't be arsed to recall. They pretty much had unnerfed (or is it denerfed?) healers when even the mount/gold/gems bribe bag-o'-wonders failed to bring them a runnin. Game devs get it through your heads. We play games to be hero(s). We all want to be that guy that saves the raid from wiping. To tank mighty...things! Do do more dps than a dps ever dpsed before! That can heal (on normal modes at least) through the stupid. Now I know you can't heal stupid, but you can sometimes heal the village idiot through his stupid long enough to tell him "STOP THAT RIGHT NOW!". Who knows, that wake up call might make them take the effort to learn what to do (unlikely, but where there is life there is hope!). Retuning content (or gear) might be a chore, but heavy handed and knee-jerk unwarrented nerfs (sage/sorc heal nerfs are good. nerfs to thier survivablity in PvP not so much. and what on earth is the reasoning behind the nerfs to CM/BG?! nerf the bubble, not the already bottom rung heals FFS!) leads to angry subscribers. And while you may want to do SWTOR your way, players want to play it their way. If you lean one way too much, you get NGE (or Cata) all over again. And I don't think SWTOR could survive a NGE or a Monoclegate at this point. I really don't. And if you give in to players whims and whines, ... I was trying to think of a good example but couldn't. Game devs seem to have issues with players challenging their "vision" of how their games "should be". Go figure. And holy wall of text Batman! I didn't mean to ramble on that much! Imma go sit quietly in the corner for a few weeks!
  15. Yes I'm sure you've read every same sex option thread BW guys. This isn't that (though those options are warrented. options are good!). This is a thread asking why there aren't closer than companion, not sharing sheets options? Also, since this is a suggestions forum. Suggestion: Why not have an all guys/gals weekly (or monthly) companion group quest available via your ship's intercom? As in a guys/girls night out. A few lines (you could probably reuse some you already have about R&R) some party sounds in the background and some affection gain at the end. You know to encourage crew interaction you might not otherwise pay attention to. Everyone has the companion they use most, be nice to let the others off the ship once and awhile. I think it would be some nice flavor and could fit nicely. What, you going to tell me a group of guys or gals around the same age aren't going to want to have some down time, maybe have a few drinks and talk about the others while they aren't there?
  16. Have to disagree with this one: As I know for a fact I have done so several times with an armstech character. Sure they were low level green weapons, but I still learned the schematic. You don't learn it every time though since I tried repeatedly to do it again. Its completely random and on the very low side (like 1 in 200 low) but it can happen. Most people don't notce it because they usually RE thier own crafteds and for a lot of armor drops they aren't REable at least that I've noticed. Some are REable. Its kinda weird really. But weapons are a different story. Pretty much any green weapon you find you can RE as long as you are high enough to RE it. And they don't vendor for much so I always just REed them for mats and every now and then I'd get that "Learned a Schematic" and I'd check and sure enough that stupid schematic for a green doodad that I have no use for is there. Guns (all types) seemed to be the only thing that happened to. Whether this is intentional or a bug I don't know. I know I've never learned a lightsaber on my artificers this way. Sadly I deleted the character a few weeks ago (couldn't get the hang of a gunslinger so I got rid of the character to use the name I liked), so I can't give you proof. I do recall gaining a schematic for an assault cannon with cunning on it. Like I said, useless green doodad weapons that might just have been some kind of bug.
  17. I'm not hugely into RP or anything, but the Jedi Consular story makes zero sense from a practical point of view. Now that's logical. Sure not as exciting as getting swamped by 'gouls, or killing yet another critter bent on your destruction (hazardous much?), but it would make sense.
  18. Wait...you mean I can't be with Mako...ever?! NO!!!! After all the crap we've been through together, and we never get to take things to the next level? That's just wrong man! Evil and wrong!
  19. Yes crystals give upgraded schematics, but in practice it seems to take more REing of crystals to get them. Could be just bad RNG on my part, but I've REed dozens of green to get a blue, and more than a few blue to get a purple. Schematic that is. Have yet to get a purple color crystal anywhere. I was hoping to find a source of low level purple color crystals to RE in the hopes I could learn the schematic. I have yet to find such a source. Cmon guys, let me have a dinky green purple color crystal! I don't care about the stats!
