  1. Well, he was referencing in-game behavior, not forums. And for the record, I've gotten far, far more assistance over in WoW on the Wyrmrest Accord server than I ever have in SWTOR on the Harbinger server. And both are heavily populated servers in their respective games.
  2. You mentioned the flying in Draenor issue in WoW. Yeah, it kind of sucked. But at the same time, while flying was nice, it was never the be-all-end-all in the game for me. I still haven't unlocked Pathfinder of Draenor to get flying yet, and all I need are 35 more treasures and even have HandyNotes installed. I just don't care about it enough. I'm much more turned off by the idiotic grind that the Shipyards are, especially when you can succeed at a mission and still lose a ship. And don't even get me started on the Apexis Crystals. I feel the same way about the Alliance grind here, which is actually what had me cancel the sub. If I'm going to mindlessly grind the same Heroics over and over for supply crates to grind officer influence just to also get RNG gifts to then grind companion influence, I might as well just grind Garrisons and Crystals in WoW, where all my friends and family play.
  3. Can someone in the game have your stuff? Sounds snarky, and probably is, but honestly the companions aren't going back to 4.0 levels. BioWare has already stated, and very clearly, that the 4.0 Companion power-level was never their intent.

Oh the hell would that even be possible considering EA has the exclusive Star Wars video game license.....
  5. Eh. Not really. I've had MMOs I liked shutdown in the past, two by EA (Earth & Beyond and Warhammer) and one by NCSoft (City of Heroes, my all-time favorite MMO). So, if or when SWTOR shuts down, I'll just continue to play WoW, Diablo 3, Marvel Heroes, Star Trek Online, or some others. /shrug
  6. Precisely. I read Eric's post today on the expected Low, Medium, and High challenge areas of the game, and as a very casual player myself, from what I've experienced since the patch, he seems to be spot-on with what I've experienced in Leveling, KoTFE Story, H2, and Heroic SF play after the nerf. I don't see a problem. Sure, there are a couple H2's that could use a balance pass as they are tuned a little too high, but overall I'm experiencing just about what he stated.
  7. Didn't take long for this one to get dumped into Off-Topic as well. Hilarious.
  8. Or, EA could just decide to hell with it, sunset the game, and move the resources over to their next Star Wars video game since they have the exclusive license with Disney. Not that a sunset would be a huge loss, nor the first MMO that EA shutdown. They already closed off two others over the years. Never underestimate EA's a ability to walk away from a game.
  9. At this point, I'm done with pointing out the obvious to you, so yeah, we'll go with that closing statement.
  10. I know what a red shirt is ********. And I've been in the game since Tuesday. I disagree.
  11. Wait . . . do you just cut and paste posts between threads now? I read that exact, same post from you yesterday.
  12. And yet you blame forum posts for the change, and ignore Eric's very clear explanation that BioWare watched the Companion output on their own and saw that they were too powerful for the design they wanted them to be. Sorry, guys, BioWare has stated they were not supposed to be that OP. It's done.
  13. Thank you. I've already given him the same answer in two posts, and he still doesn't get it.
  14. Because it was never about Challenge. Go check my post history, and point out where I was a Challenge cryer. Go ahead, I'll wait. But it was boring to play, as in not fun. I've stated in the post you quoted, and in many previous posts, that I prefer easy MMOs, but that even I found 4.0 companions made SWTOR too easy and boring. And I did answer your question, try reading the whole post that I made. Why didn't I not use the companions? Because Companions are a core design feature of SWTOR. If I have to not use a core feature to not be bored, then I'll unsub. And I did, indeed, unsub. There, I put it in bold for you this time. Companions have always been sidekicks to our characters. KoTFE broke that. Tuesday's patch fixed that. I support the fix.
  15. I didn't get a single of the achievements, and I still support the nerf.
  16. Who cares about these Strawman polls? A couple weeks ago a poll showed that more people loved the OP companions than disliked them, and wanted them to stay as they were. And what happened on Tuesday? Oh, that's right, BioWare gave the Strawman poll the due diligence it deserved. No, WoW doesn't have God-Mode companions for him and his wife to have play the game for them. And WoW still has worse grinds than SWTOR (Garrisons, Legendary Ring, Apexis Crystals, and as of Tuesday: Valor has returned). So, not sure what the hell his point is, except he thinks mentioning they went back to WoW is significant. I play WoW, and SWTOR post Tuesday's patch is still less grindy.
  17. Nope. Not even close. I am a casual. I play on limited play time per week because I work a hefty schedule. I have never done a single HM or NiM OP in this game. Hell, I've really only done the Story mode OPs and FPs. I play WoW, by far the easiest MMO out there. I say that to point out my casual nature. I enjoy the easy nature of WoW. I don't progression raid in WoW, and if not for LFR I would never have seen the inside of a raid. Most I have done over there besides LFR is normal and heroic LFD, because even Heroic Dungeons in WoW are casual easy. All that said, the OP Companions made SWTOR absolutely boring for me to play. As someone who enjoys an easy game to relax with, SWTOR post 4.0 became so easy even I was absolutely turned off. And why would I not use my companion? The companion system, and using them, is a core feature of the SWTOR design. Telling me to not use a core feature because BioWare broke it? Hell, I might as well not pay for a subscription to the game, then. Oh, wait, I did cancel. I'm willing to renew after Tuesday's patch, but we'll see if the changes stay in the game first. If BioWare hasn't reversed course (yet again) in about three weeks or so, then I'll gladly resub. So, yes, I am a casual. I like my games easy. And even I found the 4.0 companion power levels a turn off.
  18. I agree with you OP. I cancelled my sub about two weeks ago and only have 4 or 5 days left on it. I would renew following Tuesday's patch, except I'm not convinced right now that BioWare isn't going to reverse this patch due to all the whining from those who just want their companions to play the game so they can watch the YouTube cut scenes. If the companions remain as they are over the next couple of weeks, I'll gladly resub at that point.
  19. You are aware that Blizz generally makes more money off of Hearthstone and HoTS now than WoW, right? World of Warcraft is no longer the golden goose or "flagship title" for Activision-Blizzard.
  20. Yes, and one can post until the time already paid for runs out. I cancelled two weeks ago because the OP'ed Companions made the game too boring. I have about 5 more days of time left to post. I would renew the subscription now that companions have been nerfed, but I'll wait to see if BioWare gives in to the people who just want to press 1 button and watch YouTube, first, and reverses this.
  21. It's actually getting hilarious watching you moan and whine in multiple threads. Thanks for the entertainment!
  22. While working on his tan and advising his son how not to play ball with The Beave.
  23. Yes, yes, yes. Only he wants it to hit home that they notice that he, and he specifically, is no longer buying their product. Well, maybe if there are several hundred thousand more of him then they will notice. But not him specifically. And for the record, I couldn't care any less if this game shuts down. Won't be the first or last MMO to do so.
  24. You do realize that they don't know who you are, and will never, ever notice that you, personally, are never buying their products again? Good god, I hope you actually do understand that.
  25. Wrong. The community was divided on the issue. No one said it was an equal division. Jesus H. Christ when will people stop thinking in extremes and start using basic logic?
