  1. I agree. the NGE was a ******* kick to the player base. I know, I was there. SWTOR 4.0 is an insulting slap to the face.
  2. And that, right there, is the summary of the KoTFE expansion: 6-8 hours of new story (at best), and then a complete regrind of old content that was already done to death. All while you stay subbed until the new (likely) 1-hour of play time chapters start dropping in early 2016 and every month for 7 months starting then. All the other play-hours on the sub? Regrind stuff you already did, that got taken away, and you want back. People compare this to the NGE, but that is wrong. Even the NGE wasn't this face slapping insulting. The NGE just kicked us SWG players in the balls. SWTOR 4.0 *****-slapped people.
  3. Why must a "gamer fix" revolve around Star Wars? You do know there is life beyond Star Wars, right? And to answer the OP, I'm a casual player and the changes have made the game so damned easy-boring to play, that I don't see myself staying beyond this month. I'll come back after the final 7 chapters of Season One release, I suppose, to at least finish it out, but this has become an even easier faceroll than WoW at this point. And I'm a guy that likes easy, but this went too far.
  4. I am both of the two that I underlined, and you most definitely do not speak for me.
  5. I'm the same. I do not play single player video games. If I had not been playing MMOs the past 16 years (or games like Marvel Heroes), I wouldn't have touched video games again at all. Never played KOTOR, either. No interest in that type of video game, regardless of the attached franchise.
  6. SWTOR 4.0, where you, the player, are the sidekick!
  7. You don't need to. Higher influence is suppose to make them more powerful. Well, the damn things are already in God Mode, so what's the point?
  8. Yeah, know that God-Droid we get in Solo Flashpoints? Now that's our companions everywhere else in the game. I'm going to play the new Chapter 1-9 once for each faction, but after that I think it'll have to be an unsub until the final 7 chapters of Season One are all released, then pop back in for a month. I'm a very limited play time player (read: casual), and this mega-easy-mode stuff is now even boring me.
  9. Don't worry, he's a troll and not a very intelligent one at that. Just go take a look at his post history.
  10. Actually, being a solo-centric game with no need for any grouping outside of some instances is a WoW clone! SWTOR continues to copy WoW, from the redone talent trees, which they took from Mists of Pandaria, to the whole stat squish idea for KoTFE, which WoW did in Warlords of Draenor. You can solo every single level in WoW and never touch a single instance along the way to reach max level, which SWTOR also copied. So, yeah, SWTOR is a WoW clone. You want to talk history of MMOs, go back to Ultima Online, Everquest, and even SWG where grouping was actually needed, and often, out in the open world. That is the history of MMOs, but not the current market. As you claimed in another thread, I'll actually apply to you: calling out your BS on the forums is going to turn into a full-time job.
  11. Or, you know, he was asking for any new endgame content, something maybe he missed, besides grinding the same crap he already did for 4 years, or just the new Alliance grind. Dude, your own BS across threads is worse than most. In one thread you love the new direction of the game, then in a another you denounce every non-story feature it has.
  12. Have you done all class stories? Nope. Just the classes I actually have an interest in playing Have you done all the main planet stories? Good god, too many times. Have you done Ilum, Makeb, SoR? Yep Have you played every flashpoint? Yep Have you completed every operation? Yep, well in Story Mode, because I don't need to grind gear since I'm not a progression raider in this game. Have you finished Macrobinocular and Seeker droid missions? Not gonna happen. Did a few, hated it. So, yeah, as you said, not much left except grinding out the Alliance. It looks like it's going to be what I feared: sub for the story chapters, cancel sub, pop back in after more chapters build up, like maybe by August 2016 or something, whenever the remaining 7 chapters for Season One are all live. Sad.
  13. And, unfortunately, that about sums it up.
  14. Really? You played WoW all that time? I have to doubt that based on your post. WoW started going casual right after WoTLK. They tried to bring back the hardcore mode in Cataclysm, and it blew-up in their face and was quickly nerfed. Mists of Pandaria brought with it the next major shift into even more casual, especially with the talent tree overhaul and massive simplification (which SWTOR quickly copied). Then all the stat squishing and other changes in Warlords of Draenor solidified it into true easy mode. Oh, sure, if you're talking running the WoD Mythic Raids what you say might be true, but even then your biggest hurdle is getting enough people together since Mythic Raiding is server specific only. WoW is most definitely a casual centric game, and has been for many, many years. I have literally been in Heroic dungeons with the TV on in the background, and could split my attention between the dungeon and the TV without even coming close to a wipe. You want a game whose dungeons and especially raids are non-casual designed, go try them in Wildstar at level 50. I have, and they are no joke. Unfortunately, I don't have the time nor desire for raids like that anymore, so that is one endgame I won't participate in.
  15. Sorry, no sympathy for PvPers complaining about PvE requirements in what is a PvE-Centric game, like a vast majority of MMOs out there. If PvPers want a PvP-centric experience, they might want to consider a MOBA and not an MMO.
  16. Awwww, another defender that has to bring up Wildstar when the game wasn't even mentioned in the OP he was quoting. What's wrong? WoW not getting the same mileage on the SWTOR forums anymore? It's interesting how to defend SWTOR, the Knights feel the need to always default to a completely unrelated MMO. Honestly, many of you missed your calling in politics.
  17. To which you wasted more of your own time with a melodramatic response. This place is better than watching kindergarteners bicker.
  18. Or that they're aware of a line used against quitting players since the EQ1 days.
  19. And yet, it's all those retiring Baby Boomers with longer lifespans who are draining more from the system than they ever paid into it, and having no problem with that, and yet the current generation is called Entitled? And I'm 42, so we were always called the Me Generation. To which I said darned right, because the previous generation wasn't worried about anything but themselves. Blows my mind at how uneducated people are, or at least sound, using that term.
  20. Except it isn't the game's programmers who made decisions regarding the direction of the game nor massive changes like this. They simply program the code and cause the end results to appear within the game as directed. So that programming degree means nothing to what he said. Your game leads and decision makers do not always have programming degrees. This is a fact even in the MMO industry.
  21. Yeah, I got the same thing here in the U.S. Reloaded the launcher, it goes right to PLAY with no download, get to character select screen, and the same "download while playing beginning planets" junk. I dunno.
  22. To answer the thread's title directly: A majority of any Star Wars dialogue, original six films included. But, I love Star Wars anyway.
  23. I came back in early May, after about a year away, on a referral link from someone here at the forum, tried it for a week, then subscribed and haven't regretted it. The game seems to be in a good place right now. Yes, it has flaws and bugs. But to be honest, I've played a ton of MMOs over the past 16 years, and they all do. It is what it is. All in all, I'm enjoying the game, and intend to be subscribed through the KoTFE launch and then some. Oh, and the person in the above this one is not a Community Ambassador by any stretch of the imagination.
  24. You first, Mr. head IT guy. You've been all over this thread talking about how you know this or that. Or have an idea of this or that. Well, please enlighten all us common folk. You made the claim. Underline was my own emphasis. Do you have any documented proof that that is what BioWare did in this case? If so, again, please share it. And hmmmmmmm, my Ex-Wife has a Masters Degree in IT and works for Dell. I asked her about this. She would like to know, as well, how your knowledge of IT makes you that knowledgeable on game engine design and coding. Oh, she knows how it could, but we'd like to see your response first.
