What loading screens are the problem? You can roam a planet and not get loading screens. The only loading screens that come to mind are some elevators and space travel in its various forms. What exactly is all the whining about?

No problems patching or running the game here, perhaps you need to look at your rig and see if it needs upgrading or repairs?

One really has to wonder at the stupidity of the original questions. Why are flashpoints isntanced? Because they are structured around a story with a beginning, middle, and end for a party of up to 4 players. They are not intended for hordes of players running here and there just killing things at random. I really have to wonder why this is not immediately apparent to anyone with the wit to operate a computer and find the forums.

Why am I getting rest XP when I don't log off in rest zones? I have noticed a tendency to out level content so I have been avoiding rest zones in favour of logging off in the wilderness but I am still accumulating rest xp, why is that?

Personally I think it is too easy to change planets, the ride between planets should take 5 minutes or so in order to reinforce how much distance is being covered in the journey.

Re-specs should only be allowed if significant changes are made to the game. If you want to dps then make a character that does that, if you want to heal make another character who does that.

Absolutely correct if this game were a car, but it is not a car, it is a video game. As such, there is only one metric, do you enjoy playing it or not? If you enjoy it then you play it, if not you find something else to do. The consequences of the state of a video game on the universe are insignificant so why post long whines on a forum instead of finding something else to do? The other thing to consider is that when a new car is designed and produced you don't have suits and investors pushing for the cars release so they can get some return on their investment. The development of a new car is funded from beginning to end. The process of bringing a car to market and bringing a MMO to market are so different that your whole analogy is pointless and only illustrates that you have way too much time on your hands.

The reason I play Empire has nothing to do with some perceived "cool" factor or appearance opportunity and everything to do with being able to play an Evil character. The vast majority of crpgs will not put in an Evil story line that allows us to do what we can do as Imperial characters due to the raving of the Moronic Moral Minority that is constantly blaming video games for the ills of society. Republic character story lines, meanwhile, are generally the usual bland good guy tale found in almost all crpgs.

I don't get to play evil in computer rpgs, most game devs simply refuse to put an evil story arc in their games; SWTOR lets me play evil characters and follow evil plot lines by playing on the Empire side.

Well, in my case, I burned out on MMO PvP probably before you hit puberty. I did the whole PK/Anti-PK thing in old UO, hunted enemies in AC1 on Darktide, fought in the frontiers of DAOC and spent my time in PS flying drop ships into enemy bases and then bailing out to join the assault.
