  1. The CS team has been saying it's supposed to be cleared up in a future patch for the last 6 weeks or so... I finally just got sick of it at level 49, so I spent a few hours just going back to like Tattooine, Hoth, Alderaan, and just completing the questlines. They are like "planet-story" quests, that ultimately have you fight the "planet-story boss" and you get some reward, and also later you'll get Companion gifts in the mail and whatever. It's a waste of time, but it clears stuff out of your questlog.
  2. Look, I'm all for stories in my MMO, and I enjoy the voice acting sometimes. Other times I just want to get my quest and keep moving. While watching the cutscenes is nice, I am alll for the option of skipping past them. It it was mandatory to sit through all those without an option to skip, I would have never subscribed to this game, and I'm very sure I'm in the majority there.
  3. The only time I will invite someone to a group that I haven't previously spoken with, or aren't in my guild is if, for example, we're both entering into an area that requires "Kill x amount of baddies." or something similar. Since we obviously both are completing that bonus quest, I will invite so that we can double up on the kills and clear the area quicker. And then from there if, say, we each have a class quest or something that needs to be done in that area, I'll offer to help them out if they do the same for me. Sometimes they'll accept and we'll do it, sometimes they decline, which is fine. I just find it convenient in those situations to be grouped up. But randomly finding someone by going /who and inviting just because you need help is kinda silly and very lazy. If I need someone to help me with a Heroic, I'll either ask in General chat, or ask my guildies.
  4. This is like the 3rd or 4th thread I've seen like this and it boggles my mind.... "I joined a low pop server" followed by "There's nobody here! This game is dead!" Are you serious right now? Were you expecting a relatively NEW server with a LOW population to be very active? Especially in the lvl 50 only WZs? That's like if you wanted to go to a chat room, you see that 10 of them have 50+ people, but you decide to go to one of the rooms with less than 5 people... then you complain there's nobody chatting. Not a very strong comparison, admittedly, but still relevant.
  5. You're right. That's it. BioWare, you really messed up now. UNSUBBING. RIGHT NOW. You can't even make the Cantina music loud?!?? I'm trying to immense myself in your universe with my eyes closed and you are making it IMPOSSIBLE!! THIS IS A GAMEBREAKING ISSUE!! RAGEQUIT!!!
  6. You should rephrase your opening sentence with "Am I the only one who paid BioWare $60 to play, then another $15/mo to come on the forums and give my opinion on why this game is going 'downhill' even though I can't give an example or any reasoning behind this opinion?" Then you can get some "Yes" answers and some "No, I do the same thing!" answers.
  7. No one cares. Diablo III will not be released 100% perfect, there will still be flaws, bugs, and problems. This thread is not relevant to anything about this game.
  8. OP going to the movies: Sits down to watch 90 minute movie. At minute 85 leaves theater and demands money back. Says "I couldn't even enjoy the movie, because I spent the whole time complaining about what I thought was wrong!"
  9. So you've leveled 2 toons to level 50, clearing all raid content on one of those toons, with enough time to get 55 Valor, and blah blah everything else you said. And you did this all in a month. And you're expecting... what? Exactly? This game to cater to the 1% of players who demonstrate that they literally have no outside life whatsoever? I'm still astonished at how much you complained about the bugs, yet it didn't stop you from leveling a toon to 50. TWICE. Try standing up, turn off your computer. Give it a break, man. Go for a walk, or a jog. Maybe go to your local gym, or bar. Call up an old friend and grab lunch together. Fill out a job application, or maybe sign up for a class to learn a new skill. There's more to life than MMO's, believe it or not.
  10. Started Day 2 of EGA. My main Jedi Sage just hit 44 last night. I also have a 17 Scoundrel. I got a little complacent in the 30's, but once I hit the 40's it got really interesting and I'm back on track 100%. It also helps that I'm spending a lot of time grouping with friends and guild members.
  11. I think in dealing with customer service, it's very important to be as detailed as you can be. As a previous poster pointed out, you have no idea what kind of information is being displayed on the CS rep's screen. If, for instance, you're reporting another player on your server for bad behavior, it is vital that you include at least what server you are playing on. Also to be very specific in the correct spelling of their name, what planet they are doing it on, and exactly what behavior they are doing. That little snippet caught my eye, because you're wrong. You should never assume that a Customer Service Rep knows what you're talking about. These aren't developers, testers, or people who have even played the game. Their job is simply to deal with customer questions, complaints, bug reports, and everything else that goes through the ticket system. It's very likely these people are not in the same building as the game developers, and it's also likely they aren't in the same state or even the same country. When an in-game bug occcurs, they may have to then contact a developer or something, and that will take time before they get a response back. I've had some tickets that were answered within the a couple hours, and some that stayed open for a week. But I've found that being polite, courteous, and as detailed as possible will yield you the best results.
  12. No one can and no one will stop you from rolling Need. Heck, you have the freedom to do it on every loot drop. But that freedom doesn't make you exempt from being dropped from that group and never invited back by those individuals. So if that's the stand you wish to take, then by all means do it. It's the same scenario as the Hank Williams Jr. thing that happened back in October, where he compares President Obama playing golf with John Boehner as "like Hitler playing golf with Netanyahu." Sure, he had the right to say that. He wasn't going to face any legal problems with speaking his mind. But it didn't protect his job and income from ESPN and Monday Night Football, which was terminated immediately following that comment. I believe the main point of this thread is to be considerate of the other players in your FP group. If there's a piece of loot that another player wants for himself, he has priority to roll Need on that item, and it's your duty as a considerate person to let them have that piece of loot in favor of your companion.
  13. That entire post is opinion and has no basis in fact.
  14. Calling you greedy isn't taking away the "rights" you falsely believe you're entitled to. It's merely observing your behavior and making a judgement based on that. Make every argument you want (and I see at least 2-3 of these threads a DAY about this), because I've heard them all, and none of them excuse that greedy behavior. Players actually playing in the Flashpoint ALWAYS get loot priority over players or companions who are NOT in the Flashpoint. Plain and simple. I don't care if you believe the companion is an extension of you, or whatever your delusional head believes. When 4 people collectively take down a boss and are rewarded loot, THOSE PEOPLE are entitled to that loot before a companion who DID NOT take down that boss.
  15. I love the self entitlement that some of these people are who obviously don't understand how loot rolls work. So a piece of loot drops that your companion can use, well guess what? EVERYONE has a companion that can use that loot too. But there's a good chance someone can actually use that piece of loot for THEMSELVES. Stop being greedy. You will be kicked for that attitude.
  16. Rushing to 50 isn't a big deal, and ridiculing that person for doing so is kind of silly. There's no reason to tell people how to play the game. However, if you do rush to 50, please don't come back on the forums and complain about how boring the game is and there's nothing to do. Because obviously there is, you just chose to skip past it.
  17. But they aren't you. They aren't a member of that Flashpoint that is actually contributing to the defeat of that boss, and therefore being entitled to the loot. It's an unwritten rule, but it's understood by most everyone who plays MMO's. If a member of the group needs a piece of gear for themselves, the player in the group, then they get priority over alts/companions/pets/etc... It's as simple as that. If something dropped, and you see that everyone else rolls greed on it, it's common courtesy to ask if you can roll need for your companion/alt/whatever and more than likely it wouldn't be a problem, because no one else really needed it. Without that, you're just being a douche.
  18. I just started a Smuggler, after hearing and seeing it was the least played class... so I figured I'd give it a shot. My main is a Sage healer, I have him up to 39.. and I wanted to play a stealth class. So I leveled up the Smuggler, went Scoundrel and I'm at 15 now... and I LOVE it. Seriously though, how bad a** of a rotation is this... stealth behind someone, kick them in the balls, pistol whip, shotgun blast to the back of the head... then if they're still alive, throw on a DOT, and just shoot point blank and pistol whip until they're dead. And if there's a group, throw grenades and flash grenades to stun them. I love it. I really do. Thumbs up to the Scoundrel class.
  19. This is the greatest post on this thread, and probably on the forums. Concise, makes sense, and is devoid of any complaining, trolling, or flaming. Well worth a read. Thumbs up, sir.
  20. The thing is that when people speak highly of WoW, it's always in a past-tense. I've yet to see one person talk positively about Cataclysm, Kung Fu Pandas, and there's even a lot of disdain towards WOTLK. WoW hit it's peak a few years ago, now it's on the decline. Sure they'll still have their diehard fans and supporters (many who spent $60 to come on these forums and bash TOR), but it's slowly coming to an end. It's like if this was 2006. You've been on MySpace since it launched, you've customized your page, you've got thousands of friends... you're a MySpace junkie. You check it every 20 minutes, you comment on people's pages and photos, etc... Then Facebook comes on the horizon. "It's not MySpace, it can't be fully customized... why can't I put music and videos on my page? It's too basic, it doesn't come with all these other features that MySpace has! This is gonna fail, it's a Friendster/MySpace clone." Is what's coming out of your mouth, but it's too late. All your MySpace friends have switched over. They've either deleted or abandoned their MySpace pages and moved on to the new thing. Now skip ahead to 2012. MySpace is still around... but do you care?
  21. Despite his flaws, I'm very appreciative that he's lowered the caloric intake on my ship. I wouldn't have this body if it wasn't for C2-N2 looking out for my health.
  22. Ugh, these threads are popping up at the same rate as the "This game is fail because..." threads. Bottom line, if you like the game it doesn't matter what the trolls on the forums say, you'll continue to like the game. Same thing if you're a TOR hater, no matter how many people post saying things like "Have patience, things will get better, blah blah blah," you'll continue to hate the game... but yet every day you'll still log on and play (go figure). And here I am, no matter how many times you post saying these threads are overdone and played out, they'll keep popping up. Don't know why I bother...
  23. Yeah I figured there were quite a few posts, but with no forum search function........
