  1. You guys are aware that US players of WoW have always had daytime maintenance, right? We dealt with it, so can you.
  2. Actually, this isn't quite true. I have to deal with taxes with my work. Sales tax is determined by the state an item/service is being shipped to, not where it originated from. A company can be in CA and someone ordering from NC will pay NC sales tax, not CA sales tax, and definitely not no sales tax.
  3. He has a point. It's a little silly to expect people to read 30ish pages of posts to know what has or has not been said.
  4. You forgot the third kind of person - a troll. Not that I'm implying anything. That would be against forum rules.
  5. I find it a little rude if you're out questing, or standing around on the fleet and you receive a random invite. I always decline these. If you're waiting on a mob to respawn for a bonus mission or something though and someone blind invites to join up for him, I don't see anything wrong. A lot of times, they don't whisper because they don't want to be halfway through typing it out when you tag that mob and make them wait 10 minutes for it to respawn so they can finish the quest too.
  6. I think having daily quests that you HAVE to do is far more game-breaking personally. That's why I stopped playing WoW. On topic, I ran into this problem last night. I now have a greyed out quest to return to Nar Shaddaa that I can't remove. I can only imagine having 10 or so of these and being massively limited on the number of quests I can pick up.
  7. I think most anti-LFDers are in the same camp as me. We not only don't mind, but support a LFD tool if it is same server only. Anyone who experienced MMOs that adopted a cross-server tool in both the before and after stages of the tool KNOWS that cross-server ruins the community. It is not a perception thing.
  8. I'm assuming OP is looking for some sort of in-game mechanic to show character's from two accounts are married. Sharing a legacy name or something? Not putting my views on this in here, but I did want to address the people who would be against something like this and are using the excuse that people won't be able to separate an in-game romance from a real life one. What's to stop this from happening already? Do you think people who RP will let the fact that there is no in-game mechanic allowing them to enter into romances stop them from doing so?
  9. There may be thousands of posts, and it may be a fast moving forum, but you'd have to be asleep to not have read about this issue yet. There's almost always a post about it on the front page of General every time I look.
  10. Ummm, I got to choose when I actually joined the battle in Lightspring. Sure, there was fighting going on, but I wasn't in combat until I chose to be in combat. That gave me setup time to turn off companion taunts and manually harpoon shot a certain person over to me. I also got a period after killing said person where I was out of combat giving me time to heal up and res Corso before going after another certain person.
  11. I wrote my own, to the tune of America the Beautiful. 'O beautiful for fast starships For amber blaster rays For ample 'mounts of credit sticks And women to get laid! Amenian! Amenian! Jedi's got nothing on thee Cuz you look good Without a hood And you have a pet wookie!!! /bow
  12. You're aware this is the method that was used initially on mmos before someone came up with the idea for a dungeon finder, right? I couldn't even begin to count the number of tells I got on my priest in vanilla WoW asking if I'd be interested in a dungeon. The only thing that makes it rude is if they persist after I've refused, argue with me, or the tone of their request is rude from the start. Man, dungeon finder really spoiled some people.
  13. Most MMOs initially had their flag mechanics work like this. WoW did. Rift did in Beta. The uproar from the community eventually became so great that they were forced to change their flag mechanics to the more sensible ones they have now. I'm shocked Bioware fell into the trap of allowing this mechanic to go live with so much evidence against it in prior mmos.
  14. 1) I don't particular think Imperial design is bad*** as you claim. That's a subjective point. Maybe a majority agree with you, so I'll give you this point. However, it's still pure opinion. 2) I actually disagree with you here. I've played through all the starting zones and my favorite is Tython while I loathe Hutta. Korriban is too drab and Ord Mantell feels like it drags on. So I view this one as advantage Jedi. 3) Uh, no. I'd rather be a Knight than a Warrior. Knight sounds way cooler. Inquisitor beats Consular, I'll give you that. Sorcerer beats Sage, but Shadow sounds way cooler than Assassin to me. Trooper vs. Bounty Hunter? As former military, give me trooper! Smuggler also sounds cooler than Agent to me. Advantage - Jedi. 4) I've got a Consular and a Smuggler on Alderaan. Consular story was pretty repetitive for a bit, but its picking up now and is pretty cool. Smuggler story is just flat out awesome. I also have a Trooper on Taris that I'm enjoying the story of. I haven't played Sith past the first time I got each class to the fleet yet, so jury is still out there. But I refute your point on story being "goody goody." If your relying on the Consular story for that opinion, well duh, it's the Consular story, probably the most goody-goody class to begin with. What did you expect? So basically, your post is nothing short of blatant opinion, and your own opinion at that. Just as much as mine is my blatant opinion. And you know what they say about opinions and everyone having them.

  16. In the real world military, gender is denoted with a sir or ma'am. However, there is a Codex entry, at least republic side, that explains in the Star Wars universe the term sir denotes rank and has nothing to do with gender.
  17. I play both male and female characters. Usually when I play a female character, it's the aesthetics that do it, not just the rear-end, but it's nice to see a pretty face on my character select screen sometimes. I have noticed I tend to get treated nicer when on a female toon though.
  18. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! My bank accounts!!
  19. Yes, you have two options at some level ranges, resulting in two possible stories (not including starter zones as SWtOR has those too). So WoW = 2 storylines per faction SWToR has 4 class storylines per faction, not including good/evil, male/female options as these mainly just change a few lines of dialogue. Thus SWtOR = 4 storylines per faction. 4 > 2. My point stands.
  20. I just take the 1 credit and delete. Not interested in having my computer hacked, thank you very much.
  21. Not summarizing my feelings at all. I'm playing because I'm having fun. Speak for yourself.
  22. Is this server wide? Because I would troll the heck out of my guildmates when I know they're playing their Imperials. And I'd make sure I was in Mumble with them at the time. >
