  1. I've read your messages. I think you have a better grasp of the healing disparity than GZ does. However, based on GZ's tone and comments, I highly doubt smart healing will be implemented. I also highly doubt Medic/Sawbones and Commando/Merc AoE healing will be brought up to the current Sorc standard. GZ states he thinks Sorc AoE healing throughput is justified because it has a cast time and its not mobile. Fine, change it to bring it inline with others or bring the others up to Sorc level of AOE healing. Anything else means Mercs and Op Medics will continue to be sidelined for Sorcs. I think Op Medicine tree needs an overhaul. Revamp the entire thing and make it flow and interact well. It will not happen. I would like a few meaningful changes to take place but I fear even those will not happen. As Shroudveil pointed out Sorc have far too many CC/tool options. Sorcs need several of their utility options removed and given to Op Medics. That wont happen either. Using the path of least resistance/Occam's Razor, I will predict that Mercs will get their AoE healing increased to from 3 to 4. Medics get Recoop Nano altered to be front loaded but still capped at 4. Minor reductions to Sorc healing throughput, bringing that aspect of Sorc healing more inline with Mercs but still better than Op Medics. With less CC/tool options, Op Medics will still bring up the rear and with our continued Mobility tax on our HOTs, we will still have to work harder to perform at or near the level of the other healers. One of the last EVs I was in was with a Merc healer. We split the groups up, one group behind each pillar to benefit from our AOE healing. It can be done but most wont bother when Sorc healing makes things so much easier and take less strategy.
  2. I'm not sure I would be the definitive guide for this question however I double stack our HoT, start with Debilitate (never tried Hidden Strike. Been concerned it may not work and get the rest of the raid upset at me if something fails) Explosive Probe (Demo Charge), Shiv (Pistol Whip), Grenade and use our filler attack. Use Explosive Probe (Demo Charge) and Grenade every time they are available. Go low on energy and use Adrenaline Probe (Cool Head) but be mindful that you just used your only emergency tool. I also use my Med Shield followed by a Rakata Medkit. With the talents, we will receive the bonus to healing and it allows us to save our energy for dpsing. Our Bleed attack takes 8 talent points across three trees to make it useful so I removed it from my hotbar long ago.
  3. Without smart healing, people shouldn't cluster. Divide into groups. If you have 8 or 16 in a raid, one sorc per 2 groups can drop a Love Pool for groups 1 and 2. Another for groups 3 and 4. Its EQ raiding with new graphics. Heck, exploit the current buff state. Have a Sorc in each group, divide 16 into two 'stand here' locations, double stack Love Pools for even more epic healing. I see you mentioned stacking Love Pools in your healer list. Are you aware that Marauders damage/heal buff can be multi-stacked? I was in a HM FP with two Marauders. They would coordinate their buff to double stack them. I have doubts that any Sage/Sorc AoE heal stacking limit will be put in place until they fix/change how Marauders damage/heal buff works as well. Any AoE healing cap for Mercs/Commandos Op Medics/Sawbones that is less than 8 just isn't going to be viable. Based on GZ's comments and tone about how he feels Love Pool is justified, we (Medic and Merc) will not get our AoE healing increased to 8. Most definitely Recoop Nano' target cap isn't increasing.
  4. I was a PUG healer in a recent EV. People were surprised at my healing ability because other Op Medics didn't perform as well. They mentioned their next raid would be NM Karagga. I informed them that I would be free that night if the needed a healer. They told me, "Oh, we only take Sorc healers into HM and NM raids because of their overpowered AoE heal and the two bubbles." I try to be a great Op Medic. I can solo Lord Raxxus easily. Even easier now that I figured out the optimum stat spread for Kaliyo. But unless 1.2 has some massive healing balances, I have progressed as far as an Op Medic can progress and that is sad.
  5. They will not increase Merc AoE to 8 targets. Most likely you will get 4 targets. Op Medics will still have the mobility tax but our AoE heal, which I actually use quite often, will get altered to be front loaded. Which will be win in some ways and a loss in others. None of that will matter if the target limit cap isn't increased. If Mercs/Commandos and Op Medics/Sawbones AoE Heals are still capped below Sage/Sorc, few non-force healers will be taken into HM/NM raids. They can change Force bending all they want but when Love Pool heals 8 people, who would honestly consider any other healer if every other heal is approximately the same? Personally, I would remove the recast timer on Recoop Nano. If the Op Medic wants to spam it on multiple people, go ahead. Run out of energy if the situation calls for it. We still have Adrenaline Probe as an option. If they wanted to help Op Medics/Sawbones; - drop Stim Boost and roll the energy recover into the base. Its a decent mechanic on paper but just adds unnecessary micro management to an already busy healer. - combine Prognosis: Critical and Patient Studies into one ability that increases the crit chance of Diag Scan by 12%/24% and any cast time heal that results in a crit, refunds 1/2 energy. This would benefit Diag Scan, K Injection and K Infusion. - With the two talent tree points saved from above, use those to allow Op Medics to cast our Med Shield on other targets for 10-15 energy. While Med Shield isn't significant by itself, it would allow us time to follow up with a bigger heal. - lastly, change K Infusion to a real big freaking emergency heal. In its current state, it is -barely- worth a place on the players hotbar. Increase the cost to 30 (a 150% increase), increase the healing by 150%, and remove the TA requirement. If done, consider removing the pve 2pc bonus. Those four changes would greatly improve Op Medics. Then the last hurdle would be the AoE imbalance between the healers.
  6. I try to keep everyone alive but if I see one person consistently getting hurt, I will be less inclined to heal them as the raid goes on.
  7. I would actually go the other way. I prefer the PVP bonuses over the PVE bonuses.
  8. That's the main problem with Sorcs, they have too much utility compared to everyone else. I don't see an easy way of fixing this issue either. They could put all that utility on a shared cooldown. Could break them into two groups and those individual groups have shared cooldowns. Could give others, similar abilities but that just dilutes things. Can't really remove things.
  9. 1. Increase the range of our interrupts to 30m! 2. A sprint that doesn't cost talent points. 3. Stealth and Cloaking Screen should clear all Dots and prevent damage for 1.5seconds (to cover lag and in-transit damage) 4. Remove Stim Boost. Roll the energy gain into the base. 5. Remove the restrictions on Sleep Dart. 6. Reduce the number of talent points wasted to make D Scan useful. 7. Use some of those freed talent points to; 7a. Reduce the cooldown on Med Shield. 7b. Allow the Medic to cast Med Shield on other targets. EDIT. I agree with removing the restriction on Explosive Probe to.
  10. At the moment, it would be debatable about which would be more beneficial. I use RN often in HM FPs that are melee heavy. If I had the pvp set bonuses, I would actually use RN more often but it seems that I am one of the few that uses RN.
  11. Actually with the bug fix to Med Therapy coming, the change to Recoop Nano coming, and the nerf to Sorc's double pump heal getting changed... we aren't really in a bad spot.
  12. Alacrity is almost completely worthless. It has such severe DR that it isn't worth using. Excerpt from an e-mail I sent to a friend. "The 565 Alacrity Adrenal added 12.78% to my 7.22% (this includes 4% from talents) to give me 20.00% Haste. This took my 1.86 second heal down to 1.59 seconds. 565 Alacrity only gave me 0.27 seconds of haste." I had 93 Alacrity at the time. Adding an additional 565 only gave 12.78%. That 16% haste is a atrocious return on investment for 658 Alacrity.
  13. The next bug patch will fix Medical Therapy and patch 1.2 will front load Recoop Nano's AoE healing into an Emergency AoE Heal. You may want to reevaluate your spec.
  14. No idea. Coruscant space port is a huge waste of space. Coruscant is my second most hated planet. The only planet worse is Nar Shaddaa. To make matters worse, the Cantina on Coruscant under the Senate tower doesn't actually give rested xp! You get the message that it does, but if you watch your xp bar, you aren't actually receiving credit for it. Best to go back to Fleet and log out there.
  15. I have Kaliyo at 17k now. She's a beast. Temple is really good. I love using her as dps. For target switching, I have MouseWheelDown as target self. MouseWheelUp as target nearest friendly. I can cycle through people -really- fast. You can also set up the Focus target modifier key and targetself modifier key. I have 'X' for myself and 'Z' for focus target. Starting a heal with Z pressed sends it to my focus target without ever switching main targets.
  16. Because Scorpio is an inferior tank compared to Kaliyo. Reasons. 1. Kaliyo is a BH. BH gear falls like rain. You can equip Kaliyo from BH drops from HM FPs. Where are all the droid gear drops? There isn't any. 2. Kaliyo is a ranged tank. You can turn off Storm, EMP Blast and Kaliyo will stay at range attacking caster targets. Scorpio has to run in or Jet Boost into range. If Scorpio gets knocked back, she has to run back in. Kaliyo can get knocked back and do damage with grenade or blaster fire while still holding aggro. 3. Because Kaliyo can ranged tank, she can 'pull' targets to her. Helping clear a path between nearby groups. Scorpio could taunt but then she will run in. If that group has knockback, she will most likely get adds from those nearby groups. I had this happen several times while I was forced to use Scorpio where as Kaliyo wouldn't have any issue at all. 4. The Belsavis daily gives Kaliyo an orange blaster and Scorpio a blue staff. How many moddable staves have you seen drop? Worst companion goes to the ship droids. They aren't worth using in combat and because you can't gain affection with them, they take longer to do crew skill missions.
  17. Another sweet change would be if Op Medics were able to cast Shield Probe on other people @15 energy, no cooldown.
  18. Once you get to fifty, it's very easy to max out affection with your companions by doing the dailies on Belsavis. Going through the mission dialog, farming your replies for the maximum gain. If you pick a wrong reply, press ESC quickly and pick a different set of responses. Kaliyo - 15 per response Vector - 32 per response Scorpio - 102 per response (one response gained 802 with her, don't remember where) Dr L - don't remember, I want to say 64 but that could be wrong. Ensign - don't remember, I want to say 48 but that could be wrong. I would gain about 1200-1500 per day of dailies with Scorpio. But just a few hundred per day with Vector. Supplement Diplomacy gifts for the slower going ones. Only one of the dailies on Ilum gives affection for Kaliyo and Scorpio but not the other companions. He's the Trooper looking man at the second Imperial base.
  19. I hate Nar Shaddaa and dislike Corellia. Nar Shaddaa is so hard to get around. Does this path lead the the lower level or is it the path over there ?! Trying to meet up with friends is far too difficult. Corellia is just a pain with the tunnels and dead ends. Coruscant reminded me of Nar Shaddaa, so I dislike Coruscant too. Didn't like Alderaan either. Far too hard to get around with all the damn bug mounds everywhere and mountain ridges blocking access. How can anyone dislike Belsavis? It has tons of speeder bike paths and several Rakata transports. It's the quickest planet to get around on by far.
  20. Lord of the Rings Online has voice chat in the client and it can be a little jarring to suddenly hear people start talking. Personally, I prefer Mumble (Yay!) or Vent over an ingame voice chat. This allows the user to join a chat session when they wish.
  21. Add to that, 8 talent points to make Corrosive Dart worth using. D Scan is bad but unfortunately, we have worse.
  22. Wow. Your poor Crit/Surge/Power numbers must be really low to have that low of a cast time. Ouch.
  23. Then you missed all of his other posts where he explains in detail, why OP healing is only 40% of Sorc/Sage. Check his post history.
  24. Wait, so, healers should use a tank companion and dps players should use a healer ?! GASP!! Really? To be clear, I also use Ensign Temple occasionally but not when I need a tank. I have Temple geared up and she's great damage. I also have Dr Lokin geared up. He's a decent healer but nothing fantastic. Last night Kaliyo and I soloed all the Belsavis heroic dailies again, even after the Surge nerf. She is in greens and I am an Op Medic. She is an amazing tank but again, it takes a bit of micro managing her skills, a bit of planning and she rocks the house.
  25. The outside of the BH ship is nicer than Thunderclap but on the inside, Thunderclap is -far- nicer. The layout of Thunderclap is easier too. The interior lighting is superior on the Trooper ship as well.
