Wow thanks for the replies. That makes a lot of sense that it gives time to load the massive awfulness that is Coruscant. I hope in the future they litter the place with taxis or increase the number of quick travel locations. They are turning a lot of people away from the game by making the second zone you get to suck so badly. Frankly I'd rather watch a loading screen than run through a completely empty spaceport for several minutes. At least with a loading screen I can alt tab and read websites (like these forums).

I am sure there have been threads complaining about Coruscant and running through wide empty spaces. Probably the worst zone in any MMO I've ever played. I can understand trying to make it feel epic by making it big with broad expanses. They failed miserably, but I can at least understand what they were trying to do. What I am massively befuddled by is why you can't fast travel as soon as you get off your ship/shuttle? You have to run for huge distances just to get to a place you can fast travel, and this distance almost triples once you have your own ship. Does anyone know what the game design reason is for this? It has me utterly baffled.
