  1. The "why?" that came after that sentence should have been "why did I post here?". This thread shouldn't concern you in the slightest. The whole point of having two types of servers is so each type of person can go to the server that fits them best. At the current point in time, there is absolutely no difference between the two types other than the fact that you are always flagged on a PVP server.
  2. Wish more people would post in here instead of creating multiple threads of the same discussion. This thread already has a high number of people voicing their agreement.
  3. I am completely in favor of server forums. They are one of the main ways to be in contact with adversary guilds/players. Just having a general PVP or Events community section is not enough and becomes flooded with threads by people from all the different servers. While having many individual server forums will be tedious for the staff keep up with, I think the effort will pay off greatly in the end. Server forums help to strengthen and keep communities together and allows people of opposite factions on their respective servers to mingle outside of the battlefield. The only other option, in my opinion, is to allow general chat to be cross-faction in-game (and I think that would be a little bit harder to moderate).
  4. Nerf people who cry nerf.
  5. I think you've confused them with the carebear/e-sport community. They're always complaining about balance issues, while PVPers just ask for more PVP.
  6. Corpse looting: Devs stated they wouldn't be doing this, so don't expect it. I would like some kind of penalty to prevent suicide zerging, though. Perhaps greatly increased armor/weapon degradation from non-instanced PVP, and to prevent people from going bankrupt let the crafters repair equipment respective to its crew skills (if that is not already possible). I am in favor of a galactic factional stat bonus, as some have mentioned, or special resources being fought over by holding planets. Points (if there are no diminishing returns) and gear from PVP can be exploited, but the former cannot. As to probable mentioning of faction imbalance, guild alliances and planning can overcome that.
  7. Read the OP. The game does not have what it asks for. Also, Ilum is ONE planet. We want to kill each other across the ENTIRE galaxy. People need to stop stating Ilum as the answer, as it is not.
  8. Not going to. Glad to see such a showing of people in support. Can only hope the devs implement this soon.
  9. I am a hardcore PVPer. I am against arenas. They're for e-sporters, not PVPers. I am against cross-server BGs. Warzones are meaningless enough as it is. I am for more open world PVP, and less restrictions and no carebear protections on PVP servers.
  10. Keep E-sports out of PVP.
  11. Where are you guys reading "FREE FOR ALL" in any of my OP?! Just like above, I don't think you read it.
  12. I stopped reading here. Underlined and bolded for emphasis.
  13. Play what you're good at (and what is most enjoyable to you) and don't run towards what's popular at the time.
  14. You seemed to have not read what I said in the OP, at all. You most definitely missed the yellow text at the bottom of it.
  15. I don't know why this should concern any pure PVEers, since I declared "on PVP Servers" in the title, but yes they should stick to PVE servers if it bothers them.
  16. To start off with, Open World PVP is the best there is. Open World PVP should be the main focus for future PVP content, in my opinion, and not instanced PVP. While instanced PVP can be fun, it quickly becomes stale after the upteenth time playing in the same area, doing the same thing. In Open World PVP, truly OPEN, the battles are always different, and can become massive in scale. Open World PVP is never balanced, but that aspect is what makes it remain exciting. Overcoming an enemy that has superior numbers is very satisfying. Crushing an enemy that has weaker numbers is almost as satisfying. There are no scripted locations that it can take place. Something as simple as a gank can provoke an hour long confrontation between multiple guilds. Devs, please expand upon OPEN World PVP on PVP servers. Remove the invisible exhaustion walls protecting factional medical centers. Lower the NPC guard numbers and difficulty protecting factional areas. Let there be no safe havens beyond Coruscant and Dromund Kaas. To prevent game-killing camping of medical centers, allow a medical center recall to a safe planet, such as the starter worlds. PVP servers should stand out from PVE servers by more than merely being constantly flagged. Why worry with being flagged if no one can attack you? There is no penalty for dying in this game, so please open up the PVP on PVP servers. Addition #1: Allow the option (for areas already found) to spawn at other medical centers on the same planet, in addition to the nearest medical center, with a small wait time that increments similar to the droid revival. This will keep players from being unable to leave an area if it is under attack. Addressing comments/suggestions: Corspe looting won't be happening. Devs have stated as such. Faction imbalance can be overcome by guild alliances and planning. Communicate with your peers. Ilum is ONE planet. OPEN World PVP should take place across the galaxy on PVP servers. Incentives to participate, such as valor or commendations etc., are important, but the first goal is for OPEN World PVP to be expanded so it can take place in more areas on PVP servers. Sharding/Phasing of the planets definitely hurts OPEN World PVP, but hopefully it will be gotten rid of soon anyway. Before the forum wipe, it was mentioned that it would at least be reduced sometime after launch. To all who may post, leave your ganking/camping/griefing complaints to yourself. On a PVP server, those things should be allowed and encouraged, else there be no difference between PVE and PVP servers.
