  1. Then maybe you missed them. There have been numerous threads asking for all of the past subscriber rewards to be made available again, using almost any conceivable justification, including the existence of Z0-0M and her being tied to that bonus chapter. It has already been shown how even those that did not qualify to have HK-55 as a permanent companion can "Cheese the system" and have HK-55 as a companion, even after his part in the story has concluded. Does that get you access to the mission that returns HK-55 or to the HK-55 bonus chapter? No, but it DOES give people a chance to retain HK-55, even if that does mean "cheesing the system" and having to "cheese the system" every time they add new content. Johnny having to go back and restart a chapter every now and then seems like a small price to pay to have a companion that he KNOWS he did NOT meet the criteria to receive.
  2. Alternatively, Fay Zivla and Rico Okarr could be the companions that those player who "get them now" would receive. That would allow that distinction between when the companions were earned.
  3. Or Johnny gets rewarded for not subscribing because he chooses to play as preferred but paid (or scammed) players to click on his referral link and they are subscribing, earning him FREE CC's.
  4. Getting Diablo 3 for free was the promotion, not just getting Diablo 3. Diablo 3 was always intended to be available for anyone to purchase. You're also ignoring the other part of that promotion, the mount. That mount cannot be obtained any longer in the areas in which that promotion was offered and remains exclusive to those that met the criteria to receive that mount in those areas in which the promotion was offered. In areas in which the promotion was not offered, like Korea, that mount could be purchased through the game store. A recent glitch in that game store was exploited by players in the US who did not meet the criteria of the previous promotion to obtain that mount, even though it was never offered through the store in the US and the US was one of the areas in which the aforementioned promotion took place. The game company removed the mount from those who exploited that glitch in the game store and obtained the mount even though they did not meet the criteria during the promotion and refunded the purchase price to those that had exploited the glitch. I would say that Blizzard not making that mount available again in the areas in which that promotion took place, and the fact that they removed it from those that exploited to obtain it, are a pretty good indication that that particular mount is exclusive to those that earned it by meeting the criteria set forth by Blizzard for that promotion. Now, is that promotional mount also one of those items that they cannot legally make available again, like the Hoard motorbike mentioned in other threads? Since Blizzard has not made any official statement to that effect, I cannot say, but given that they had to refund when they removed the mounts that were obtained by exploiting the glitch, I would guess that there was a pretty good reason why Blizzard would not have allowed those players who purchased the mount through the game store to keep those mounts. At $25 per mount, even 40 people exploiting would mean $1000 in returned (lost) revenue. Given the numbers of posters on the forums and the fact that the forums are only a small percentage of players, I suspect there were likely hundreds, if not thousands, of players who exploited to obtain that mount. It would not be an unreasonable guess that Blizzard had to return tens of thousands of dollars in revenue when they removed those mounts that been obtained by exploiting in order to keep those mounts exclusive to those that actually earned them via the promotion. Tell us all why a game company would give up tens of thousands of dollars in revenue if they truly could just offer pixels which were previously available only via a promotion at any time in the future they desired.
  5. So, you're saying that those people that met the criteria to receive those past subscriber rewards are not entitled to have them? Meeting the criteria is the definition of entitled. Those who KNOW that they did NOT meet the criteria but expect to be able to receive those rewards anyway are the ones suffering from a false sense of entitlement, as they are NOT entitled to have the rewards if they did NOT meet the criteria to receive them.
  6. Including continuing along the path they have established for years, which is not to make those rewards available again, by any means, no matter how loudly or how long those who think they should have something they KNOW they did NOT meet the criteria to receive whine and cry on the forums.
  7. I'm not going to do your research for you. The evidence is readily available for those not too averse to effort to find it. Besides, even if I were to do your research for you and link posters who remained subbed due primarily, or in part, to the added incentive of those rewards, you've already proven that you would not believe those posters, since in your words "People say a lot of things". There are many factors that determine the success of any "promotion". A promotion does not have to result in "more money than before" to be considered a success. Sometimes a promotion is a success even if it only results in more revenue than would have been produced without said promotion. Sometimes, a promotion is a success even if all it does is to increase "name visibility". But, go on with your bad self and keep fighting to enable those with their false sense of entitlement. How has that gone for you, so far?
  8. If those rewards "led to" anyone who might have unsubscribed continuing their subscription, then those rewards led to "more money" for BW than BW would have seen without those rewards as those who remained subscribed due to the added incentive of those rewards would not have remained subscribed. We've already seen in many of these "I KNOW I did not meet the criteria to receive X item, but I want it, so let me have it anyway" threads that there were many people who remained subscribed due primarily, or in part, to those incentives and that without the added incentive of those rewards, they would not have remained subscribed.
  9. Sages and sorcerers are designed as RANGED classes. "I want to play the ranged class as a melee, so BW please change the ranged class so I can do so." What's next? "BW, I want to play sentinel as a ranged class. We can already throw our lightsaber. Please let that lightsaber throw hit as hard and do as much damage as our melee attacks." If you wish to play sage or sorcerer as a melee class, you will have to accept that you are not going to perform at anywhere near the maximum potential for those classes. There are 6 melee sith/jedi classes--marauder/sentinel, juggernaut/guardian and assassin/shadow. Instead of asking BW to change the design of sages and sorcerers, maybe roll one of those 6 melee classes if you want to play melee. Assassin and shadow would let you play melee and see the inquisitor and consular stories.
  10. I'm glad that my suggestion helped and you are able to run with HK-55, but "cheesing the system" does not make HK-55 any less exclusive as a permanent companion. The bonus chapter is also not the only exclusive reward, not even the only HK-55 related reward. I also do not know if there is a way to "cheese the system" to obtain Nico Okarr or Shae Vizla as companions, even temporary ones. I may be wrong, but I do not think there is.
  11. I'm saying IF BW decides to sell those past rewards, then they should do so for real money, not fake CC's, far too many of which are "free" and would not result in an increase in revenue. If BW decided to make those past rewards available again, and chose to sell them for real money, that would result in an increase in revenue. Isn't that one of the reasons why people are saying that BW should make those past rewards available again--to increase revenue?
  12. Similar, I guess, but with a much higher price.
  13. I do not think past rewards should be made available again by any means, but If BW were going to put past rewards up for sale, IMO, they should put them up as real money sales, and NOT via CC's. There are way too many "free" CC's floating around. The real money cost should be at least equal to the subscription cost paid by those who met the criteria to receive those rewards, and IMO, the real money cost should be higher. For example, IF BW were going to sell past rewards, Nico Okarr, Shae Vizla, HK-55 should have a real money cost of at least $20, IMO. The bonus chapter which required 8 months of continuous subscription, or $120 at the single month rate, should have a cost of at least $120 and I think $150 would be more acceptable. Too much, Johnny says? Then I guess those past rewards are not that important to him, after all.
  14. The topic did not "come up" because there was a "glitch with the launcher". There have been any number of threads asking for past subscriber rewards, including HK-55, to be made available again. IMO, this thread was started because someone decided that maybe they could use an obvious glitch to their advantage. As for being able to run with HK-55, I believe that you can do still do so, even if HK-55 will not be a "permanent" companion for you. Replay any of the KotFE chapters that include HK-55 and leave the chapter. You should see HK-55 in your companion list, with the influence you. I believe that he will still have the raised influence. The caveat to that is that if you replay a chapter that does not still have HK-55, you will have to replay a chapter that does have him in order to reacquire him.
  15. It would be far better, IMO, to encourage BW to make more money by adding new promotions with new rewards using new systems. Why would you not rather BW give us new rewards that no one has and therefore would likely have a greater draw and produce more revenue for BW? Why are you trying to keep the game you love form making more money?
  16. New promotions using new systems with new rewards would be a far better option than making past rewards available again, IMO.
  17. The East Coast data center actually serviced more people, but those people were not on a single server. The vast majority of those people were spread across THREE servers, Jedi Covenant, Shadowlands and Ebon Hawk. The combined populations of those three servers was far in excess of Harbinger's population, including the APAC players and the East Coast players that had previously transferred to Harbinger.
  18. If you have such disdain for this game and BW devs, what's keeping you here? What's stopping you from going to find that "other game that will actually listen to you"?
  19. Maybe they simply recognize that what players want is not always what is best for the game as a whole. Or, maybe they know what happens when you give a mouse a cookie.
  20. I'm going to hazard a guess and say there is a reason why BW has not caved to the incessant demands to make past subscriber rewards available again, despite the "untold amounts of money" they can make by doing so. I really doubt that reason is my opposition to making them available again. I wonder why BW would throw away all that "untold money" by not caving to the incessant demands to make those past subscriber rewards available again, if it so easy for them to do so.
  21. And sometimes people simply need to learn to live without those shines that they want. It's called "life". That concept applies even in video games.
  22. Several of the platinum light sabers have already been made available via direct sale, so I would not expect those particular light sabers to be direct sale items in the near future. I think the usual pricing for platinum light sabers has been over 7000 CC's, with a discount on that price the first few days they are available.
  23. What was shown on the launcher was from 2 years ago, hence the reason BW has stated that it was a mistake that it was shown on the launcher, and that mistake would be corrected.
  24. As I noted, that other company did not have any language in the promotion for the mount in question, but that "lack of language" did not negate the legal issues surrounding making that mount available again. Again, I am not saying that BW cannot make those past rewards available again for legal reasons, only that it MAY be the case that they cannot and that another company in a similar situation, using similar language in their promotion, HAS stated that they cannot offer that particular reward again due to legal reasons. Now, BW could come out and say that they cannot offer them again for legal reasons if that is the case, but they are not required to do so. Even if they did, I'm sure a certain poster would remind them of the "cinemasinslaugh.avi" defense. Sure, BW could make those rewards available again (presuming that there are no legal issues preventing them from doing so) but they are not obligated to do so, no matter how loudly or how long some cry for them to do so. BW is also free to continue down the path that they have so far chosen to travel and leave those rewards in the past, available only to those that earned them during the applicable promotion. I recognize, though, that there will still be those who continue to pester BW like petulant children who's mother told them cannot have that cookie that they want. "I know you've said 'no' to all the requests so far, but what about now?", "How about now?", "How about now?", "Have you changed your minds yet?", "Can we have them now?"
  25. Here's a better idea, IMO. Leave the past rewards alone and leave them in the past. Look to the future and try to find new rewards and new ways to make those new rewards available, so that at least some of those new rewards will continue to be available to new people or people who don't get them immediately.
