  1. And what happens when those who "just missed" the "second chance" promotion start to clamor for a "third chance"?
  2. I'm placing my bet that on Apr 4, we'll see threads created by players demanding to know where their Shae Vizla and Nico Okarr are since they were subbed on Apr 3, as well as threads created by those demanding a "third chance" because they "just missed the deadline" or "didn't know about the promotion".
  3. You're probably not. There are plenty of lazy people in the world. I'm sure that some play this game.
  4. Reskinned, recolored, renamed and remodeled versions of some of the past promotional items have been made available. Would it satisfy you if BW were to make Fay Vizla, Rico Ocarr and HK-53 available to all, with those companions having different models with different color palettes?
  5. Even if the celebration Jawa has the same functionality, it is NOT the Party Jawa. It is a recolored, reskinned, remodeled and renamed "version". I have already stated that I fully support making recolored, reskinned, renamed and remodeled versions of those past rewards available again. Since those recolored, reskinned, renamed and remodeled versions of past rewards would have the same functionality, that should be satisfactory, should it not? After all, the celebration Jawa having the same functionality as the Party Jawa is apparently satisfactory to you. Some of the items contained in the CE were made available through the deluxe digital upgrade, but not all of those items were. Access to the CE vendor is still restricted to CE owners and the CE pet is still available only to CE owners. Darth Hexid was not "made available again". She was never a reward that was given out in the first place. She was a potential reward, but never was an actual reward that was given out. She has only been awarded one time, and only to those that met the criteria to receive her. Even if those armor sets dye exactly the same (and most do not), they are not the same items as the rewards. They are different. You can try to convince yourself and us otherwise, but the truth remains.
  6. And yet, BW has not made those past rewards available again, despite numerous threads begging, pleading whining and crying for them to do so. They have chosen to keep those past rewards exclusive to those that actually EARNED them, despite the fact that those who want those shinies claim there is such a demand for them to be made available again and BW can make soooo much extra revenue by making them available again. I hope they continue to do so. As I said, I fully support making recolored, reskinned, remodeled and renamed versions of those rewards available, but not the actual rewards.
  7. If you want to discuss making reskinned, renamed, remodeled versions of past subscriber rewards available, I think you will find that even most of those who want the past subscriber rewards to remain exclusive to those who actually EARNED them, would support making reskinned, renamed, remodeled versions of those past rewards available. I would fully support making Fay Vizla, Rico Ocarr and HK-53 with different models available to everyone as companions. Ironically, it seems to be those who want those past shinies who insist on those exact rewards being made available again, even though they use reskinned, remodeled and renamed versions being made available in a feeble attempt to justify their desire for the exact rewards being made available again.
  8. The party Jawa has never been made available again. BW did offer a the celebartion Jawa, which was NOT the party Jawa. It was a reskinned, different model Jawa that could be used for the achievements. It was NOT the Party Jawa. The CE vendor has NEVER been made available to anyone who did not purchase the CE, nor has the CE pet. CM items are NOT the same as promotional items. No one who was not subscribed at the appropriate time received a Partyy Jawa. Some may have been able to purchase a remodeled, renamed, reskinned version named the Celebration Jawa, but NOT the party Jawa. No one who did not meet the requirements to receive Master Ramos was able to receive her. No one who did not meet the requirements to receive Darth Hexid is able to receive her. Hopefully, BW will not make past subscriber rewards available again, but if they do choose to make any or all of them available again, I hope they choose to make them available only via real money transaction, NOT CC''s, and that the cost is at least 150% of the cost that those who met the requirements to receive those rewards paid. For example, rewrads that required one month subscription, or $15, should be at last $22.50 and I would set the price at an even $25.00. For the HK-55 BONUS chapter, which required 8 months of continuous sub, or $120, I would set the price at $180. You may disagree, but we can agree to disagree. I guess the big, bad, mean, bully "elitists" came to your house and prevented you from meeting the CLEAR AND EXPLICIT criteria to receive those past subscriber rewards. I guess those same big, bad, mean bullies are still out to get you and kick you while you're down so they can lord those shinies that you covet over you. Given the number of these "Let me have that shiny I want, even though I KNOW I did NOT meet the creiteria to receive it. I WANT it, though, so BW, you OWE ME to let me have it." threads that have cropped over the years, with BW continuing to honor the implicit aggreeements into which they entered with those who actually MET the criteria set forth by BW, I would not be so quick to say "when".
  9. Really? Tell us all when the Party Jawa was made available again. Tell us all when the CE vendor was made available to those who did not purchase the CE. Tell us all when the CE pet was made available again to those who did not purchase the CE. CM items are not the same as promotional items. All your "argument" does is to show how badly you want those shinies you KNOW you did NOT qualify to receive and that you are NOT entitled to have. Even your "make all promotional content available for sale "at high cost" is nothing but a feeble attempt to disguise your own desire for those shines that you KNOW you are NOT entitled to have. You wouldn't even define high cost, except to say that what those who qualified for the HK-55 BONUS CHAPTER paid to have access to that bonus chapter was too much to charge, even though you weren't even correct about that price. To qualify for that BONUS CHAPTER, it required 8 months of continuous sub, or $!20 at the single month rate. Whether or not those who subscribed received anything else for that $120 is irrelevant. No one was able to get access to that chapter for less than the cost of 8 months subscription. No one had the option to say "let me just pay a pittance for the bonus chapter so I don't have to remain subscribed."
  10. Go find that other game with so much more content, then. Don't let the logout screen hit you in the posterior on the way out.
  11. Many MMO's have content that is available only for a limited time and once that time passes, that content is no longer available. Look at the "big boy on the block". The previous two expansions both had legendary quest chains that are no longer available to be completed, despite those quest chains being an integral part of the lore for those expansions. Anyone starting now cannot experience those quest chains, even though they subscribe to the game. The entire world was changed a few expansions back and anyone that started after the world changed cannot experience the world as it originally was. There are things in GW2 that "new players" cannot experience. Those are just two games. I doubt they are the only ones. I suspect that the concept of limited time "content" is far from rare, or even uncommon. In fact, I would suspect that limited time "content" is pretty common.
  12. Or, you could put those credits into finally making good on your "offer" from another thread. Just a thought.
  13. The credit cap is one of, if the the, biggest incentives to subscribe. There have been more than a few posters who indicated that they have all the available account unlocks and if it were not for the credit cap, they would be able to play the game the same way without the subscription. Now, let's look at this logically. If Johnny were subscribing because he likes the game, then he would have no credit cap and no reason to purchase the "credit cap unlock", would he? The most logical, if not the only logical, reason for someone wanting to be able to remove the credit cap for F2P or preferred is because they want to play for FREE without having to worry about that pesky credit cap.
  14. All that would happen is that you would have the crying on the forums from: A) people who now want the "new shinies" that those that originally received the past rewards get and B) those who miss out on the "second chance" for the past subscriber rewards. Offering them again solves nothing. It will, at best, change the specifics of the cries.
  15. But, one cannot simply throw a pittance (or any amount of money) at the makers of Guild Wars 2 to play that first season of living world, can one? Sure, maybe the creators of that game decided that MOVING FORWARD they would take a different tack, but they sure didn't change their stance on the original season, did they? I think that GOING FORWARD, it would behoove BW to do things differently with new rewards, but not with regards to past rewards.
  16. Ah, yes, the victim card and the claims that those who actually met the criteria to receive that BONUS CHAPTER were "blackmailed" while those that did not meet the criteria (for whatever reason) are "being punished". Is the sports team that uses a promotion giving <X> item to the first 1500 customers through the gate "blackmailing" those customers? Is the fan convention that has guests who will be making appearances and signing autographs "blackmailing" their fan base? Were football fans "blackmailed" into spending thousands of dollars to go to the super bowl? No. Offering a promotion is not "blackmailing". It is not "blackmail" to reward those who meet certain criteria, even if that criteria is simply buying a ticket or being subscribed at the correct time. Not being rewarded is not "being punished". Would I like to see more bonus chapters with various means of obtaining access to those chapters? Yes. I don't think that bonus chapters should be sold on the CM, but offering some bonus chapters for being subscribed during a specific periods of time, others for being subscribed for <X amount of total time>, maybe make some achievements reward access to bonus chapters that would expand upon, or continue, that achievement. Would I like to see BW run veteran reward system alongside a "time specific" reward system going forward, with the two systems having similar but different rewards? Yes. What is in the past is in the past. IMO, it is best to try to convince BW to examine additional means of offering rewards going forward than to complain about what I didn't get in the past.
  17. It's not about Johnny being "happy" that Billy doesn't have the shiny that he has. As has been explained numerous times before, it's about BW honoring their implicit agreements with those who actually met the criteria that BW set forth to obtain those past rewards and not negatively impacting the effectiveness of any future reward promotions. A BONUS chapter that has absolutely no bearing on the core game or a player's ability to progress. Offering a reward only to people who meet certain criteria is "blackmail" now? Is a sports teams "blackmailing" their customers if they offer a "<promotional item X> given only to the first 1500 people through the gate"? Were movie theaters "blackmailing" viewers for the last Star Wars movie by only offering the "fan experience" to those viewers in the first showing of the movie? Ah, yes. Here comes the "victim" card with the claim that those who didn't meet the criteria are "being punished". Johnny is not "being punished" if he does not receive a reward that he did not meet the criteria to receive. He is simply not being rewarded. There is a difference. Is Billy "being punished" if the Olympic committee does not give him an Olympic gold medal if he did not win the event, or even compete in that event? And then we have complaints that those who did not get the wall hanging are "being punished". No. IMO, the best thing for BW to do is to honor their implicit agreements and maintain the integrity of the reward promotions.
  18. Could you provide a source for that claim? I don't remember BW EVER making any blanket statements as to "inactive for X amount of time and name becomes available." I know that is not exactly what you said, but I also know that many of those desiring to be able to steal names that other players already have will likely see what they want to see and read your claim as gospel that BW said after a year, they can steal another player's name. The only time I can remember BW ever saying anything about "inactivity" was with the first name purge they did a few years ago. There were several criteria used to determine if a character might have their name flagged as available. If I am not mistaken, the criteria included, but were not limited to: Subscriber's names were not flagged, even if a given character had never been played once it was created. Characters level 30 and over were not flagged, regardless of subscriber status. F2P and preferred characters under level 10 that had not been logged in within a certain amount of time (60 days for F2P and 90 days for preferred) had their names flagged. F2P and preferred characters between level 10 and 29 that had not been logged in within a certain amount of time (120 days for F2P and 180 days for preferred) had their names flagged.
  19. The Terms and Conditions for that bonus chaper have been linked numerous times, but here they are again: http://www.swtor.com/fallen-empire/home *Terms and Conditions * To qualify for the Knights of the Fallen Empire Subscriber Rewards, the account must be in a Subscriber status as of 11:59PM PST//7:59AM GMT on the date listed by the reward. PRIVACY POLICY AND TERMS OF SERVICE AVAILABLE AT http://WWW.SWTOR.COM. ALL TERMS AND CONDITIONS TO PLAY THE GAME APPLY AT ALL TIMES. SUBSCRIPTIONS MAY BE CANCELLED AT ANY TIME. SEE http://WWW.SWTOR.COM FOR DETAILS. Notice that for the bonus chapter, the terms and conditions sepcifically state " ** To qualify for the HK-55 Bonus Chapter, the account must continuously be in active Subscription status between January 11 - August 1, 2016." Notice what you do not see? There is nothing that says anything about "to get the bonus chaopter for free", "to get the bonus chapter at this time", "unless you have real life issues that 'force' you to not subscribe" or "unless we decide to sell it again if enough people beg us to do so." BW was very specific with their wording in those terms and conditions-- " ** To qualify for the HK-55 Bonus Chapter, the account must continuously be in active Subscription status between January 11 - August 1, 2016." No one who's account was not continuously in active subscription status (f or whatever reason) for the specific 8 months listed in those terms and condition can qualify. This is an implicit agreement into which BW entered with those who met the criteria they BW set forth. Making those past rewards available again would violate that implicit agreement and BW would renege on that implicit agreement. It is possible, although no one other than BW can say for certain, that there are legal issues with making those past rewards available again, even if some would rather dismiss that possibility. Note, that does not mean that I am saying that it is a certainty that it is a legal issue, only that it is POSSIBLE that it is. There is legal precedent that implicit agreements can be just as binging as explicit, written contracts. In addition, there is another game company that has given rewards to their players who met certain criteria set forth by that game company. That company has had numerous requests for one of those past rewards to be made available again, and has stated that they cannot legally do so. Does that mean that BW is subject to the same legality issues? No, but we also cannot say they they are not subject to those same legality issues. In the end, it comes down to whether BW decides to continue to honor the implicit agreements into which they entered with those loyal customers that met the criteria to receive those rewards or to cater to those who did not meet the criteria, many of whom have already shown how little loyalty they have. I know would prefer that they continue down the path they have so far chosen and continue to honor those implicit agreements.
  20. Even at the 6 month rate, I think it was more than $84. That bonus chapter required 8 months of continuous subscription. At the single month rate, that was just under $120. $84 would be a bargain, IMO.
  21. The set bonus was originally tied to the shell, but was moved to the armoring due to player requests. Players originally had to choose between looks and those set bonuses, By moving the set bonus to the armor, players were able to use moddable gear to keep their desired look without sacrificing the set bonus. This was, of course, before the outfit designer. Even with the outfit designer now, I doubt you will see much support for moving the set bonus to the shell as that would negate being able to use legacy gear to share those set bonuses.
  22. You accuse others of being unwilling to budge? That's funny. It seems that some are unwilling to budge one bit as they will only accept "sticking it to the big, bad, mean bullies" by making the EXACT past rewards available, even if that means adding some minor, superfluous "tag" about which no one will even care. That "tag" is unimportant, though, as the only thing some want is to "stick it to those big, bad, mean bullies" who's only crime is having the audacity to meet the criteria BW set forth for those past rewards.
  23. And you would again be wrong. You can speak for yourself, but you do NOT speak for me or anyone other than yourself and those who have specifically and officially designated you their "speaker". Oh, no one has officially and specifically designated you their speaker? Then I guess you speak only for yourself.
  24. You do not speak for everyone. I would have no problem with seeing knock off JK-55's or Mae Fizla's running around. In fact, I would much prefer to see a flood of knock off JK-55's or Mae Fizlas running around. I'd be very surprised if I was the only one that felt that way.
