  1. That's exactly what I thought. Too bad, so I guess I'll have to wait for a fix, however long that might take. Thanks for the replies. Any idea on the indoor performance drops?
  2. Are you planning to improve general in-game performance? When will shadows become viable? Right now they're creating problems even for high end pc's.
  3. I suppose I could wait to see the patch notes, they haven't mentioned any incoming performance fixes improvements by 1.2 though.
  4. Yeah see I've kept them off up until now and I'd really like to use them, it's starting to become a pretty serious game issue for me next to the textures, which will be improved soon though.
  5. Hey forumers, so I've been enjoying SW TOR to the fullest but I'm really missing the shadow option, which I had to to turn off unfortunately, but would really like to use. I have a feeling the performance loss isn't due to the PC I'm running it on...I can easily play ME3 on max and BF3 on High. Anyone have any clue about this? Any tips you could give me on making them work properly (without slashing down my fps)? It also seems to get much worse when I'm indoors. Would really appreciate the help, kind of nasty playing without any shadows. Thanks in advance to whoever may answer.
  6. Imo the clone wars series is an abomination of star wars and pretty much messes up all established lore...it's a kid's show, I get it, but do they really need to come up with all this crap? I haven't watched the show in ages, but I remember seeing zombies, angels and godly entities as well as the demon counterparst and more, plus now they are ruining Darth Maul by making him survive an enormous fall, having been cut in half. I'll never consider it canon.
  7. I left to play it all the way through, then decided to replay all 3 mass effect games again and I'll return to Tor in a month or so, probably when 1.2 hits.
  8. I considered most of tier 1 gear to look awesome, except maybe the knight. Anyways, this new gear looks amazing, mixed with high res graphics and an awesome design. Love especially the trooper, bounty hunter and warrior, and finally the Jedi look more star-wars'ish.
  9. When can we expect some kind of customization service where we can change hairstyle/facial hair/features?
  10. I guess it can't be hard to implement this option, so let's make Bioware know this is a issue worth looking into.
  11. The star wars and Kotor music are the best tracks I have ever heard, and when I occasionally hear them in the game, it brings up so many awesome memories.../sign for music loop option.
  12. I never said that the video wasn't an advertisement for improved graphics, I said generally information and care for the subject was very little. Anyways yeah, can't wait till it hits, it's going to be pretty awesome.
  13. First of all, its not a bug fix, it's an improvement. Secondly, they almost didn't advertise it at all, and that was the whole problem people were whining over, that we never got actual confirmation.
  14. I hope you realise you'll have almost no one supporting your arguement and agreeing with you. Opinions are opinions, but even though you might not like it, they're doing a hell of a good job with 1.2
  15. It's not so bad...Cade was a force sensitive smuggler. It has to do with legacy, if your father is a Jedi and you become a smuggler or whatever other profession (i.e Cade Skywalker/Leia), you're possibly still going to be able to use certain force powers.
  16. Yep I'm very happy about this, now the only problem is the wait for until this promising patch releases.
  17. The fatman is healthy...I see what you did there.
  18. If anyone watched the live guild-summit streaming, apparently one of the new features for 1.2 shown in the video was "Improved character textures", so yeah, we're getting them soon. Good enough
  19. I definetly agree. We're missing out on some great Kotor and SW tracks, Bioware do something about this.
  20. Quote by one of the devs on an earlier version of this thread: That screenshot is from a cinematic in-game. As stated, cinematic scenes use high resolution textures because we have control over how many characters are rendered on-screen at once. This is how the game was always intended to look in cinematics. We did not 'remove' high resolution textures - they were always in the game for use in cinematics. With that said, thank you for all of your responses. We understand everyone's desires around this issue, and although it's not going to be an overnight fix, as mentioned we're working on addressing this. Many of the suggestions you have made are similar to potential changes the development team is investigating. I rounded up the development team once more and had another discussion, and wanted to update you with a better timeline and some more precise details on what we're doing right now. The first MAJOR changes will be in our next major Game Update, which will have the version number of 1.2. Those changes will bring greater visual fidelity to your character and those around you, but will still allow for good performance in situations where a lot of characters are on-screen at once. In other words, for those screenshots of your character in their best gear, you should see a marked improvement. Other potential changes are being discussed right now – as I said, many of which are similar to changes suggested by many of you. As usual, you’ll see these sorts of changes on our Public Test Server before they make it into the live game. Right now we cannot commit to a live date for the 1.2 Game Update, but it will be within Q1 2012.
  21. Wonder when they'll announce the 1.2 release date, can't wait for it. Hopefully the improvement will be worth the wait. Otherwise, I'm going to be immensely disappointed.
  22. Once again, this is merely your opinion and not fact. Actually, I couldn't care less, and I mean zero, about the bugs...I haven't even encountered one that frustrated me or bothered me. However. even if I love the game, the sole issue I have with it are the textures, which hopefully will get fixed.
