  1. I'm confused why so many people go for warding call and//or blade barrier with their hybrids. Do they really add that much "tankiness"? Also, why take the 2 points into lunge (reduced cost Riposte) instead of solidified force? I know that's mainly a PvP thing, you don't have to worry much about NPCs escaping, but from what I've heard so far, most people running hybrids don't even USE Riposte in their rotations. Also, why hasn't anyone put points into Master Focus? Master strike is one of our most powerful damage dealers now, it seems that an 8% damage increase would be worth the 2 points. This is the spec that I'm heading towards: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#500RrhZMMZfMrorhdzMM.2 It's got plenty of sundering, free force sweep, and allows for stance dancing if I need more damage/need to guard someone. Thoughts? Alternatively, you could take 1 point out of sundering throw and put it in pacification, giving you a really potent force sweep (though not as strong as a focus spec's): http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#500RrhzZMMZfMrorhdzMz.2
  2. Bumps are rather looked down upon. You should read the Sent board, I just looked for less than a minute and found what you were looking for. Apparently, Combat spec is all the rage, while watchman and focus is out. But what do I know, I play guardian .
  3. Saw a guy on Republic Fleet today (Corellian Run) with a Battlelord set that had a clipped hood. He was wearing a headband, not a visor, so apparently there are some headbands that clip the hood. I asked him which one it was, and he says he got it from the Heroic in the Red Light Sector on Nar Shaddaa. I know it's not what we're asking for, but it's something.
  4. I've been working on my guardian alt for some time now...got my shadow to 50 and stopped playing. Having just picked up a set of recruit gear with a few BM and PvE pieces thrown in, I can say (ironically) that I've never felt more powerful. I did go with a hybrid build, simply because of the things people have been saying here, and I can definitely feel the difference between 31/0/10 and 23/1/17. I know people aren't happy with the changes, and I wouldn't dare go back to full tank, but regular (non-rated) PvP feels good to me now. I can actually kill people, harass healers, and do my job in general. It does seem to be lacking something, but I can live with it until the next buff. Force in balance + potency is just pure win. EDIT: FiB is doing great damage, but as Shin said earlier, I haven't been noticing much self healing at all. Is it bugged?
  5. So...even with the nerf to single saber mastery, I'm sure a lot of people are still going to be using vig/def hybrid, right? I mean, you can put all the strength and power you want in your mods/enhancements/augments, but why not go for some guardian armor to get more endurance? My guardian is only 31, but I absolutely love the class. Gear has a huge impact on it though.
  6. I'd like to see a customization pass made for all weapons. Not so I can use a blaster as a Jedi, but so shadows (like my main) aren't pigeon holed into using ONLY dual blades. Shadows have vibroblade and electrostaff proficiency too, but they can't use them because their techniques require a dual blade. Similarly, knights should be able to use their weapon of choice...meaning that dual wielders should hit twice as hard, but shields and other off-hands should give you significantly more damage reduction/power. Dual bladed sabers should do an incredible amount of damage, but must be wielded with both hands, I.e. no offhand. Thus making dual wielders and double bladed wielders do the same damage but have a cosmetic difference. That way if people want their lightsaber and vibroblade, they can...or their electrostaff, or whatever they want Troopers should be able to use any gun they want...especially since they threaten people with their pistol in cutscenes . Likewise, bounty hunters should be able to use rifles if they want to. Smugglers and agents are a bit different...seeing them use a cannon would be weird. But blaster rifles and pistols? Absolutely. Give the customers what they want, customization!
  7. It specifically says they're changing it so the skills are mirrored better. I'd just like to know what they officially decided to do. Are they going to use force burst? The force push animation? Speed up the current iteration? Or are they slowing down Shock? Any of those solve the delay problem, although some are distinctly lacking "cool factor." Also, if they're scrapping the current rock animation, are they changing the others like TK throw and kinetic ward? Some kind of official word, or even an official "leaning this way" would be greatly appreciated.
  8. Ask and ye shall receive. http://torwars.com/2012/02/16/consular-weekly-dude-where-are-my-pants-final/ And TBH, since most of the pants are the same model anyway, just grab yourself any old set you can find, put on an awesome looking chest piece, and match the pants to the chest piece. VIOLA! Instant matching set.
  9. It's a shame we can't send stuff across servers. Still got gloves for sale on Mind Trick, and still looking for chest.
  10. This. I rolled both classes for this very reason. That being said, my shadow is a tank and my guardian is DPS. A DPS guardian is far tougher than a DPS shadow, but DPS shadows hit like a train. For tanking, shadows are the better AOE tanks, but guardians are the best tanks for single targets by far. Each has their use. Remember, in PvE heavy armor mitigates a lot more damage than it does in PvP.
  11. Also, his build has sundering throw in it, which is worth giving up the meager dot from burning blade for.
  12. I have a 50 shadow and honestly, I'd say +1 on shadows being boring to play. Sages have interesting mechanics, and you have the healer option as well.
  13. As a level 48 you shouldn't be having much trouble in the sub 50 warzones if you're tank spec. Are you properly geared? As in, do you have all the latest up to level mods, implants and relics? If not, keep in mind that at this level you're not gaining any benefit from being bolstered. A level 12 in level appropriate blue gear can actually have more HP than you do if you have sub par gear. I'm afraid this gets even worse when you get to 50, as the jump from level 49 gear to battlemaster is HUGE when it comes to better stats. I have level 50 mods in my orange gear and I have under 16k HP. Consider that a full battlemaster tank sin has around 24k and you see the disparity real quick when you try to.tank. Also, don't forget the basics, like always using kinetic ward.
  14. Exactly what I was wondering, but I don't want to try :/. Also, I have the gloves for sale on the Mind Trick server. Would like to trade for chest, but will sell as well.
  15. But you can switch out the WH mods too, right? So why not just grind some WH smuggler gloves and yank out the power mods?
  16. Actually, its the Robe of Avenging Wrath that drops from the final boss in the Red Reaper FP. Source: That's my picture .
  17. Still looking for chestguard on Mind Trick, character name Valrikk. Willing to pay handsomely.
  18. I actually really like master strike, it looks cool and despite my complaints, I use it a lot. I just hate when I'm fighting a sorc and I sit there stabbing and slicing away, and they just sit there behind their bubble laughing at my lack of damage and proceed to lightning me to death. This will change with a damage increase, but it just seems anemic in its current form, prompting so many people to want it changed.
  19. Nah, they clearly heal themselves with the force right after it happens, which is why my shadow can backstab people so many times. Joking aside, its a ridiculous ability to have in a WZ...its like a gears of war fatality except it doesn't kill your target. I'm not saying we should be able to move while doing it, but its ridiculous for your hit to land from 15 meters away and not be a blade storm. I did a master strike on a turret in a FP the other day, and it died before the 1st hit landed, but I stayed there master striking the air until the animation was done just because it can't be canceled by moving. That's the stuff that annoys me.
  20. Then what exactly do you want? With 1.2 you'll be able to use any medium armor set in the game. If you want to wear a wide-brimmed smuggler hat, its your choice. If you want to wear the droid head PvP gear, that's also your option. The fact remains, outfits that are meant for wide distribution like endgame set armors need to have a "universal" appeal so the majority of people are satisfied with them. It's then up to you what you do with it. Personally, I think medium armor wearers have the best variety in the game. If you can't find something you like out of all the options you have, you lack imagination. I've seen sents running around with fancy smuggler scarves and goggles. Surely you don't need a crazed fashion designer dictating all your appearance options.
  21. I suppose its not the damage of master strike that annoys me so much as the idea. It's supposed to be a heavy hitting melee attack that devastates your victim. Doesn't it make more logical sense that it stuns your enemy (you know, getting run through with a lightsaber and all) and having the whole animation play out in front of you, but still be interruptable, than being uninterruptable and having a range WAY beyond what a melee attack should have? It's not the game mechanic that I think is weird, its being able to hit someone with a sword from 15 meters away.
  22. Server: Mind Trick Have extra set of greaves and boots for sale, looking (desperately) for chest. Character name: Valrikk
  23. Frankly, I think the most powerful, iconic looking armor and robes in the game right now are the level 47 variants. The Jedi Battlelord armor? It looks fantastic! As do the Consular equivalents, like the Robe of Avenging Wrath. There are already fantastic armor models in the game, and the only thing needed to make them appropriate for end game is interesting color variation. Imagine an all black Battlelord set for dark Jedi, and a white and brown one for light Jedi. I don't know if many people addressed head gear or not, but this is also an issue. Agents and smugglers have class appropriate head gear; Jedi and some Sith do not. Jedi don't wear samurai helmets, showgirl head dresses, or Geordi Laforge visors. Sith don't wear feathers in their masks. They could be imagined wearing face masks though, as demonstrated by Revan and Vader. The circlets that are currently available also look good. In general, armor shouldn't be over the top.
  24. Well anyway, without anyone beating their chests, can someone tell me logically why it is that we have an attack that roots us, doesn't root our target, and can be run away from? I mean...I can use it in a WZ and still get both hits, but why does it root us? Its not like its a nuke attack, even with +15% damage. None of our attacks hit very hard besides dispatch. I just don't understand why some people are defending it.
