  1. Good, as an MMO stealth player, the more people get it into their heads that these are team games and stealth classes shouldn't be taking people down to nothing from full or competing in raw damage with damage classes with limited or no stealth, the better. The job of a stealth class in team PVP should be that of a finisher.
  2. Fact is, from day one Bioware proved themselves to be newbie MMO developers, I don't care how much they say they had experienced developers on staff, they made the most basic of mistakes over and over again and they are still living with those mistakes AND making new ones. I'm not bashing the game, I enjoy it for the most part, but all I ever see is the fleet, and that's it. If I do go somewhere else, I always end up back on the fleet, I have no interactivity with the Empire (I'm Republic) outside of warzones.
  3. Stick in a cheap SSD. You load screens will take about 10 seconds.
  4. Meh, I have no sympathy for players that won't stick it out because they got a kicking.
  5. *edit* Actually this thread is getting way to grumpy, I think I'll stay out of it.
  6. Totally agree, as a light Jedi Guardian the idea of sending of the Emperors Assassin, a pureblood dark side Sith, to gather some rare metals for me just feels stupid. God knows what he gets up to, why would any Jedi want to do that? He probably walks in the room, kills everyone and takes it, he's made it clear that's how he thinks things should be done. I'ml not on a role-play server, but I am a role-player with a pretty good imagination so in my head I'm sure he's just under arrest and placed in my custody so I just get him to do some slicing but it really does seem dumb at times. Ultimately the stories and companions never worked for me, I think it would have been better to have had a single driving story that everyone played, put more effort into allowing your choices to have more impact on that story and ending, allowed more control over companions, choosing which you want from a number of choices (i.e. at each point in the story giving you a choice of three/four companions and you get to pick one, if I could have T7, my Ewok and a Jawa I'd be a happy Jedi, everyone else makes me want to turn to the dark side just so I can kill them). The Jedi story just fell on its face for me and it's why I can't be bothered to roll a LS Sith either.
  7. In reality, when facing multiple opponents, a weapon in each hand is preferred. If you're capable of course.
  8. Hey all, sorry I know these sorts of posts can be boring. Roleplayer but also PVPer who's found himself on a PVP server after the server changes, so I'm looking to move here. Is there some PVP activity here and do games pop often? Does one side dominate more than the other? These are just a few things in my mind that I was wondering about before I moved. Thanks all.
  9. Time to kill in this game is so short these days that you'll go down like a ton of bricks as a Vig Guardian if you get focused. Your best bet is to wait, stay back a little, watch what's happening and then move. If you jump into the fight and into a pack of 4, you're going down.
  10. I agree, I never had a problem landing Master Strike from launch until now. The root reminded me off all the QQers that would moan that it needed a root back in the early days and have recently found myself running Focus in PVP just for a change.
  11. This.. BUT.. I dropped my 4 set bonus for cool looking gear and I've honestly not really noticed it as the end of my world. Augments in every slot for extra damage across the board isn't anything to sniff at, although once more people are in WH gear it won't matter because you can have your cake and eat it.
  12. Vigilance is devastating in PVP right now, arguably given it's immunity to CC and damage reduction it's a better PVP tree than the very easy to counter Focus tree. Tagging either of them as our single PVP tree doesn't do either tree justice because they are both very useful in a PVP game. We're lucky we get so many decent builds that can be used in PVP.
  13. Go for the set you think suits you best to be honest. Then swap some mods around. Personally, I dropped some of my set bonus in the Battlemaster gear and swapped it into some cooler looking orange gear and I've not been effected in any large way without a 4 set bonus.
  14. They are better than you think, and shouldn't be looked at as single DOTs. Firstly they ignore most forms of protection so the numbers you see are actual raw numbers, secondly they will crit so get your critical chance to 30%, thirdly they are meant to be applied all at the same time and not on their own, at that point you turn your target into an oven cooked Sith. The idea is that Plasma Brands DOT lasts longer than the cooldown on the skill, you apply Plasma Brand first, then follow up with your other two DOTs so the longer DOT on Plasma Brand is still ticking as you apply the two smaller DOTs. And as people posted above, the damage isn't as small as people make out, when they apply they will sit at around 20% of your base attacks damage, that's significant and even more so when you have all 3 running.
  15. pianomanhooper makes good points in that using Awe after they leap is always a good way to start, you screw them up because they don't have Unremitting and you've now turned around their open attack and put them on the back foot ready for your open barrage (which they can't stop if you have Unremitting). The key to beating them is to first stop their opening attacks dead in their tracks and turning that around on them, then second is to always keep stasis ready for them when they pop their "can't kill me" so that it will burn itself out.
