  1. And another one bites the dust. I honestly am not a hater of the game. I had alot of fun playing it. I have ran through all the HM OPs but now i just dont feel like logging in any more. My sub is up in like13 days or something but as a favor to the devs ill list my quarels with the game. 1.) Story vs leveling. I am a classic EQ player and i got hooked on MMOs for the leveling experience. I really thought SWTOR was going to get back to that with its story centric gameplay. Most of the time i was so disconnected with my story i never felt immersed or even interested in it. Dont get me wrong i deffinatly think it could work but there seemed to be very little consequence for any desicion and they scraped the whole light side dark side stuff. 2.) Combat. It is game X with a star wars skin. Nothing really special about combat here. very traditional play styles with little innovation on class archtypes. I would like to point devs to Vanguards combat and classes. while combat isnt super crazy, the reactive abilities and chains made you think. Not to mention they had two very unique classes and went beyond basic resource managment. 3.) Daily quest grind. Enough said. Its stupid and cheap. Grinding the same quest over and over is not endgame and will not retain me. 4.) PVE Balance. Yeah I said it. Why do range dps do significantly more damage then melee. We all know EC is incredibly easy with all ranged. in fact almost all of the ops fights are. Melee should always do more damage than ranged. thats why you would bring a melee over a ranged character. The only exception would be a light armor caster. 5.) Plain and simple i got bored. I tried to take a casual pace and let the game evolve but after three 50's it just got so boring. No story additions, no events, just a dead static world. In closing I just want to say maybe its me. Maybe i just dont like MMOs anymore. There has yet to be a company to make a game that is based off the same formula. And if they do try something different the game fails. I think its now an over saturated market and companies cant figure out that nothing will match WoW and they need to make their own game and not a clone. Games like GW2 and TSW look so promising because they arent the same clone of WoW. Any way, so long and no you cant have my stuff.
  2. i think the taco analogy was wrong. what it should be is bioware gave us a taco but everyone thought it was a cheesy gordita crunch supreme. but back on track, the problem is bioware made a game all about story and the journey except they made it so easy to complete and rush the max level that everyone got bored. If i could make a direction change, i would cut xp in half and start formulating alternate leveling paths for the planets with more dynamicaly ranged content. i hate that in my story quest i automaticaly go to every planet. I wish my choices shaped where i went.
  3. Im sure you do love it more than I do. Not sure what that has to do with anything. But seriously pull yourself off the forums and enjoy what is in game. if you cant then the game is just not for you. you will never have fun if your constantly looking and thinking about the negatives
  4. Want want want, gimme gimme gimme. The mating call of the QQ Bird. What do you wantthem to say. The same things over and over again? Trust me, get off the forums and play the game. If your not having fun then quit and play the next under developed game that comes out where you can be equally unhappy. PS Let me know when they release a game with all the content and features of a game that has been out for 10 years.
  5. I believe to qoute is one persons tool is another persons weapon. DPS parser fit perfectly. Too many people just dont know how to adapt and learn to play different ways. I play both melee and range dps and the best advice i can give is know the patterns of the fights. nothing is more frustraing that haveing a channeled ability interupted by karaga .1 seconds after casting.
  6. I think as long as you can pull 1k a fight you are fine. Also dont go by the dummies. there are not real ops situations. having to move or gettting interupted really lowers dps. Usually the boss dieing is a good sign you had enough dps
  7. I think most people wish all new mmos could launch with close to 10 years of live ingame feedback and developement. My god some people will just never understand. Game is fun, I have not cleared all the content and am enjoying PVP and PVE. I will say crafting is lame but then again i could really give a poop about crafting in any game. Vanguard had amazing crafting. Game is young and will contiue to mature. To the OP you basicly just dont like the game for what it is so you are doing the right thing. y not playing. just dont linger around the forums talking about how much you dislike stuff. Not to mention if you have geared out all of you guys and companions if bh gear you have way to much time for a new mmo. you should go play something with a few more years under its belt.
  8. I feel like im the only one who does month by month. I honestly am having fun playing. i usually play every day after work for about 1-2 hours. Rarely play on weekends and have two 50's Rakkata geared getig ready for HM EC. Having a blast still and have good friends to play with. I honestly dont care how many subs the game has. Yeah, people at EA want to make money but its stupid to think they didnt plan on SWTOR most likely ending up with average player base. Luckily the stock hits will force upper management changes eventually so its just a rocky point in their History.

  10. So reading through the class feedback only confirms that alot of people just have no idea how to build a spec and play a class to its strengths. Don't get me wrong, after hearing the official dev version of what a Shadow is, I can for sure say they need some tweeking. So this post is the place to correct the assumptions and errors people are making about the Shadow. Shadows need a medium armor proficiency. No we don't. We already have one. In infiltration at teir 1 we get a 15% armor increase. This puts us just slightly, about 1-3%, below medium classes. Please do not start flame wars on people if they make mistakes. Correct them an move on.
  11. Infiltrations Mostly PVE Others see us as week unsustained dps. they think we are too hard to heal for melee dps. In pvp our burst is good but we lack the tools for survivability. Personaly my DPS is fine in PVE Compaired to sage gunslinger and vanguard DPS i am closer to the top. any melee is hard to heal if you are bad at positioning and moving your character to maintain dps. I will say after reading the dev post about us being in and out attackers i had to laugh. our cd on force cloak is too long and most of the time a dot ticks and breaks stealth before we can cleanse. We also lack the choice of stealth openers. basicly spinnig kick and rotation. where is our high damage ambush attack? we currently do not play anything like the devs want us to. things like reduced cd on force speed and improved force cloak are needed badly. our dps is fine but a high damage stealth opener is needed.
  12. So I was in the commando forums and was think how it sucks that no matter what spec we are we have to major give aways. Hammer Shot heals and the giant assault cannon. So it got me to thinking is SWTOR missing the ability for different weapons styles for each class. For example, gunslingers and sents are pure dps with 3 distinct treea. I think it would be awesome for single dual and double lightsabers for sents and maybe assualt rifle scatter gun and dual pistols for gunslingers. Even for commandos healing shouldnt requir assault cannons. Just a thought, agre or disagree if you like.
  13. First let me say I am a believer that melee DPS should always do more DPS than ranged. Plain and simple. That is the reason why you take melee over ranged. They can be harder to manage if they are bad at what they do but the reward is easier boss kills. I play a Gunnery Commando in both PVP and PVE. Full BM and full Rakkata Gear. How do others percieve me? Honestly I could care less. I play with a guild of rather normal smart people and we are all fairly competitive in the DPS department. We never tell people their class is broken and they can't play with us. Were not 5 years old anymore. Most of the people on the forums are PVP whiners so again they are mostly venting because they got beat up. I have. ot been discriminated against in game. How do I percieve the class. PVE- Pretty good DPS. Easy to play. Competitive with all DPS in my guild. We have a long CC for breaking up spawns that works on all. Combat rez. Self heals when needed. PVP- Might as well have a target over my head. I say that because compaired to the Empire we are so easily spotted and often grouped up on because of that. We should not need an assault cannon for healing! Also compaired to other classes I feel like a sitting duck with only 1 CC break on a long timer. Other then that as DPS i can mow people down or I get mowed down.
  14. Just blasted through HM KP/EV and SM EC last night with a Rakata geared Shadow tank. It was.... easy. P.S. He rounded out his Rakata gear with the two HM runs. Both healers were mostly Rakata geared with some BH/Rakata DPS.
  15. Thank you for going back and looking. I had similar builds booked marked. ut after i was basicly called an idiot i gave up on alot of them. dont get me wrong deffinatly a fan of the build. glad u spent time explaining it.
