  1. Body type 4 may be muscular, but it's still obese - and the fact that the model apparently has a painted-on six-pack (which makes little sense unless steroid-induced) doesn't change it. I don't have anything against overweight people obviously, hell my closest childhood friend has some extra kilos... But the fact remains that it is not the best thing for a person's health and it does put a bigger strain on one's heart. Sumo wrestlers are mountains of muscle as well but they still face health issues later in their lives quite often.
  2. Yeah, strange that people should care about lore in an MMORPG, eh? I liked the fact that the changes were delivered in an IC way, and can't wait to see the crew skills changes in 1.2
  3. Don't give me that crappy superior attitude, or you'll have to deal with my crappy superior attitude!
  4. Haha, this reminded me of that thread where people replaced words in Star Wars quotes with "pants"... "Pants are clear kid, now let's blow this thing and go home!" "Commander tear these pants apart until you've found those plans and bring me the princess - I want her pants!" "In my experience there's no such thing as pants!" And the list goes on
  5. You need some patience with this mission as it is not easy. As the others said, make sure your equipment is as up to date as possible for your level (not to mention repaired!), have a healthy amount of medpacs with you, overload near the ledge... Also it would be a good idea to use stims for this mission if available, they tend to make a difference. And in the worst case if all else fails, you could do some heroics or grind your way up to level 10!
  6. Eh? What on earth are you talking about? Elite vs elitism is purely in the attitude. An elitist may be as skilled and dedicated as an elite, they just don't have the character that makes the elite, well, elite...
  7. And there's nothing wrong with that. We all have our insecurities. Heaven knows I do... It's how you deal with them that sets you aside and shows who you are.
  8. Yeah... Except "attitude" does not mean "cocky, arrogant and insecure". True champions know their strengths and limits, show an interest in their peers and try to be the best because of their drive to improve, not because they're insecure and want to feel superior. Case in point? The Barcelona football (soccer) team. I don't support them myself, but they show class and character both in victory and defeat. That's "elite".
  9. A crappy, superior attitude is never welcome. No one minds if people are better than them as long as they treat others properly. No matter how good you are, you have no right to act like a jerk. There is a big difference between elite and elitist.
  10. If you can get behind the dated graphics and combat system you should have a blast. Shouldn't be an issue for you if you're a nostalgic retro gamer, but if not, you might not be able to get into it as it would feel quite awkward by today's standards. Still it's a really good game, a classic. I'd also like to see a Selkath somewhere in the game actually, even if it's only a holo... Dunno if they have any.
  11. Stock alien dialog from KOTOR A lot of aliens repeated it once too often.
  12. I bought the original Naga last week, and boy is it awesome It's probably the most comfortable mouse I've used and the 12 buttons are a godsend! I just hope it lasts as it's an expensive purchase and I've heard that Razer mice tend to die quick
  13. This is an interesting take on end-game "boredom", and one I'm sure to experience myself as the end of the story + the end of leveling = the end of my characters progression. I haven't finished any class story yet so I don't know how it is... But it would have been cool if it ended a bit like Freelancer, where you essentially do your super heroic, epic and impossible deed but sort of say "Now the galaxy opens up before me, there's lots of opportunity to be had" and continue as much as you like
  14. My highest level character is 33 I enjoy mucking around in this type of game as I hate end-game. Plus, I have little time to play and I'm usually too tired to play "seriously" when I get home.
  15. It's not the chests as much as the waistlines and limbs IMO. Waist is a bit too skinny in proportion to the chest and the limbs are too cartoony. Maybe the torso could have been a tad longer too. This type of body could have been OK in another style of graphics, but just feels off with this one.
  16. I hope so too. The game is just starting out and is still up in the air. If Bioware does a good job I think it will settle down eventually and have a good core community. I wish I could help you guys out myself... But I'm sort of a loner in the game and play far too irregularly to be reliable. And I wouldn't want to disappoint fellow TOR players by being unreliable in the game.
  17. I'm afraid it's not true mate... I am more of a loner in MMOs (as my gaming time is really my only "alone time" these days). I mean, I like to chat in general, respond to people who need help, tend not to decline group invites and when in a group I try to pull my own weight, but I am truthfully not as much an MMOer as I am an RPG fan. The community needs more social and more dedicated players than me. Thanks for your kind words though, much appreciated
  18. Yeah I think server specific forums would be a great help. But until then, I think your best bet would be to actively check for guilds that suit you - even if it means rerolling since the two of you are feeling quite "alone in the world". It's not an ideal situation - but until server transfers are in place, I'd rather reroll if I were in your position (and maybe move my characters later).
  19. Understandable as threads here often devolve into pointless arguments. I'm guilty of it often TBH I believe that the game is a good RPG and a decent MMO - however one needs to be very pro-active in order to be able to enjoy it as an MMO I think, and possibly go beyond the confines of the game (e.g. seek out local communities, check out unofficial forums etc) - and it could very well be impossible for people on low-pop servers. Still, I think that people who are willing to hang around for a while or at least return to it a few months down the road will find a lot of improvement. I feel that Bioware is genuinely trying to make their game better and will get there eventually, hopefully before it's too late.
  20. You'll need to go back to Dromund Kaas to level slicing without having to spend on missions.
  21. I'll "white knight" Spoony a bit here by telling you to check his later post, he does say that he believes that the game does need a lot of improvement. Most of us feel that. Still, we can enjoy it for what it is so far. Doesn't mean we're turning a blind eye to its faults...
  22. It's not about hardcore gamers or raiders, it's about annoying elitists (NOT elites, there's a difference between them). I don't care if you're Jennifer Connelly or a no-life smelly basement dweller stereotype, I don't care if you're the best player on the server or a guy who can't play to save his life, I don't care if you play for 30 minutes or for 18 hours a day... I do care if you're an awesome person who is a boon to the game's community by being decent and respectful. If you're a fun person to play with, it's all I personally believe the game needs.
  23. Haven't reached end-game yet, but I don't think it needs to be necessarily tied into a raid (I hate raiding myself). It would be fun if all different types of end-game are alluded to though. I'd love it if it feels a bit like Freelancer after you complete the main story
  24. Pretty much this. I would personally go for the Op or PT... Stabbing your enemies with vibrodaggers or burning them to a crisp is so much more enjoyable than boring old lightsabers IMO
