  1. Ah yes I can see how this would be convenient for roleplaying purposes for instance where you would not want a soundtrack playing in the background as it's not "natural", yet since the band is a physical and visible part of the environment and thus should realistically also be able to be heard. Very good point!
  2. Ah true! How did I misread first time. I originally thought you meant "shoot" as in "switch" or "shut" it off. Hehe brilliant suggestion. Yes - I'm all for it!
  3. Although this is not what you meant, it still brought something funny to mind. You know how we can shoot those explosives from a distance and they blow up? Now -that's- what they should implement. Tired of hearing the same old wacky tunes? Shoot the jukebox and annihilate it. Forever silenced!
  4. To those of you who enjoy the Cantina music and are here to defend it, please understand that I've not come here to ask them to change, update, modify or remove it. In fact I don't want this post to interfere with your enjoyment of the Cantina music whatsoever. As far as I'm concerned, you're absolutely free to sit in a Cantina all day long and fill your ears to your hearts content. I'm not here to take that away from you. In all simplicity, I am merely here to request an option to disable it for those of us who cannot STAND it and for whom it makes visiting any place that has cantina music a strongly unpleasant and demotivating experience. If there is an option in the settings, or if one can "turn off" the cantina music for one's self from the jukebox, or even having the ability to make a mute music shortcut. Well surely none of these options hinder your experience in any way? And since they don't, I'm hoping it's not a problem. Live and let live and all that jazz. :-)
  5. I've returned to SWTOR after being away a couple of years and although I'm enjoying the game with full vigor again, something hit me like a ton of bricks in the most negative way. The maddening cantina music. It absolutely drives me insane and aggravates me so much that I almost want to quit! I did a search on trying to find if there is any way to turn it off and it seems there isn't without turning the music off completely which I do not want to do since I love the games soundtrack otherwise. However I would like to mention that there are a lot of threads out there complaining about the very same thing. Please add some way to turn off cantina music separately: Have an option in the sound preferences Have a "turn off" selection in the jukeboxes that actually STAYS switched off permanently unless you restart it Have at least the possibility to make a keybinding for muting music so one could just quickly turn it off when entering cantina areas (ctrl + m does not work btw)
  6. Thank you so much for responding. So that's why. No wonder I couldn't find anything then!
  7. Sorry if this has been asked a gazillion times but I've just spent half an hour googling and searching the forums for any information on this, but without luck. Bear with me please. 1) Can F2P players create and guilds and be guildmasters? 2) If not, can however F2P players join existing guilds as normal members? 3) If F2P players can indeed be guildmasters, will the options available to them be restricted?
  8. I agree completely. My main motivation to buy CE was also the in game perks, however the only useful thing so far has been the free mount. The VIP lounge was a huge disappointment, I'd been envisioning something much cooler where people would actually want to hang out. I do like the book though!
  9. Yes I also found this pretty surprising. Our guild is already set up on both factions (of one server) and obviously communication between the sides is a pain. We've resorted to using a Facebook group to communicate, but being a RP guild we'd obviously prefer to be able to do it IC as well. I'm so glad that one guy stood up and expressed his discontent with this aspect. The devs seemed genuinely surprised hehe. I hope it's like the one dev said, that they'll put it up a notch in priority.
  10. I watched the summit tonight online and during the guild section, someone asked whether guildmasters will ever be able to customize the guildmaster title to something else (since all other titles are customizable). The developer responding to this seemed perplexed and said that was the first time he'd heard of someone ask for such a thing. First of all, it's quite surprising that they never thought of it themselves since roleplaying seemed to be a quite high priority topic (big thumbs up to that yay!). The title "guildmaster" is not exactly realistic or immersive to the Star Wars universe is it. So it's a given that RP gms would want to change it. But actually what surprised me the most, was that they'd never heard of someone wanting this. I've been seeing this requested over and over again. Even googling cropped up several threads where people ask about this: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=273559 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=53013 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=3372 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=260339 http://www.swtor.com/de/community/showthread.php?t=118190 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=65369 And the list goes on and on and on. So I'm assuming that someone filters all the comments and questions to the devs here on the forums (community managers?) and that's of course the smart thing to do since devs should be busy devving :-). But I'm wondering just how that that happens and what determines what issues ever reach the developer's ears/eyes?
  11. Well this issue is not only about datacrons, it's about everything you would be able to track mousing over those progress bars. Just as hard to keep track of what beasties you've found etc. I think I'd better modify the title of the post.
  12. johnhughthom: Yes I see the list of stories for each of these. However there is no "Found" indicator nor any other way for me to check in-game which ones I have completed. The game should not force people to seek this information outside of the game. I've been using SWTOR spy's walkthroughs on the particularly hard datacrons, however what if such a site as SWTOR spy did not exist in the first place? Or any other site for that matter. We just wouldn't know. And this is not just a problem with Datacrons but all of the "discoverables".
  13. It's been a week since I last logged on due to work hurries. And I find my character sitting next to a datacron. "Oh yeah" I think to myself. "That's right, I was hunting datacrons... but I can't for the life of me remember which ones I completeled. Crap." The fact that I had simultaneously been hunting datacrons with my alt on the other faction, certainly did not help! So I whipped out ye olde Codex and expanded the view, then started mouseovering the progress bars hoping to find some information on which ones had been completed. Alas, the sections gave no tooltip what so ever. And upon closer inspection I realize that the "sections" actually have nothing to do with how many ticks are left at all. So no wonder. This bothered me to the point of actually spending 5 hours of my Saturday to take screenshots and create improvent suggestions on how these progress bars should work in my opinion. Please have a look and respond to this thread if you think it would be an important improvement to be able to keep track of the various discovered things in the game! http://andrea.net/pics/codex.jpg PS: As visually polished and beautiful as the user interface is in SWTOR, (props to the UI graphic designers btw!), whoever was the UI designer (usually a different person than who makes it look pretty) leaves much to be desired. It could be though, that the UI designer(s) had their hands tied due to technical issues that the programmers couldn't work around. I do hope though that the usability and functionality of the user interfaces sees some improvements in the future.
  14. I fully support the OP's point. It makes me wince every time my character is referred to as "Lord" and find that it alienates me as a female player. It's bad enough NPCs are saying "Sir" all the time. :-( I really don't care if it's an old tradition from the military or not. It feels very irritating to hear them say that. Let alone have the title. My female characters are not men and if there were the dialogue option to [slap in the face] after an NPC called her "Lord" or "Sir", I'd certainly choose it. I would much prefer "Lady" thank you very much. Also please change the dialogue text of one quest givers who says "You look like the kind of MAN who could go for some extra credits" or something along those lines. Was in one of the early Sith areas.
