  1. Since the 'Class' stories are what give levelling alts a different flavour, they would be pretty mad to stop them now.
  2. Yes, alts do work. Tried and tested by myself in a guild with 5 accounts.
  3. It is +10 per companion regardless of type, so for 2 chars with all stories complete you would get +100. The max you can get, I believe, is +500 ( 8 chars + 1 Human unlock ).
  4. Any chance that either n or np could be added when you assign Num Pad numerals to skill keybinds, at the moment they appear the same as the other numeral set. Key 1 appears as 1 when assigned to a skill keybind. Num Pad 1 would appear as n1 or np1. Thanks.
  5. Pretty much came to the same conclusion myself. In all the classes I've levelled so far, very, very few drops are actually useable by the class you are currently playing. One memorable evening on my Commando whilst doing the dailies, I had 3 green, 2 blue and one orange drop, all Jedi gear of one type or another
  6. Unless you plan on running the space missions, forget ship upgrades. Always log out in either a Cantina, your ship or on Fleet so that you get plenty of rested XP bonus. Now that you have started crafting, reverse engineer some of the items that you make to get the better recipes ( ie the ones for re-useable items ). Once you get to a higher skill level you will be able to get Implant recipes. Even the class missions involve a fair bit of running around and are usually in the same areas as the normal missions. If you want to get enough Planetary Comms to help upgrade your gear, try and do as many missions as you can. I can't offer any advice regarding PvP or gear that is obtainable through that route as I don't PvP. Don't forget to keep your Companion's gear upgraded too, but I suggest you don't try and do them all, only the one you regularly use.
  7. If you are enjoying playing the Sent, stick with that. Very hard to give advice about what is fun as it's all down to personal taste How long to get to 50? Depends how often you can play, but my best advice for playing a first character is to take your time, enjoy the stories, explore the worlds and don't rush
  8. As for a first craft, personally I'd recommend getting Biochem with its gathering skills Bioanalysis and Diplomacy. Biochem allows you to make Stims, Medpacs and Implants and I would say is the most useful for a first character and would prove most beneficial while levelling.
  9. There are currently 3 levels of mount, each increasing in cost, the speeder prices aren't too bad, it's the training cost that dents your wallet. Skill upgrade costs increase fairly fast as you level up. Personally I don't buy all the new skills, some I find I never use. Your repair costs will rise as you level up. Constantly upgrading your gear can be costly if you buy often from the GTN. Are you planning to craft? That can dent the wallet too if you buy a lot of materials. I would suggest that you don't start any alts until you have completed Chapter 1 of your current classes 'Class Mission' ( That unlocks your Legacy ). That way any alts you do create will contribute to your Legacy points
  10. The intention was I believe not to offer a full range of mods from Planetary Comms so that crafters could fill the gap and boost the economy. Of course with pops so low and hardly anyone making/selling mods you are going to struggle to keep your gear up to date. So it is by design, but a design that only works if there are enough players willing to make and sell the items you need or you have enough alts with the skills to craft your own items.
  11. Well personally speaking, if I'm playing a dps character I use a healer companion and if playing a healer character I use a dps companion. Works well enough for me as I've never really found the tank companions that good. Depends of course at which level you gain access to which companion according to which class you decide to play.
  12. Which companion are you using and are they up to date with gear as well? Overall I think 1.2 dropped our dps to make things a bit more challenging, but using Elara for heals, I'm only really finding it's taking slightly longer to kill things and I'm not dying any more than I did pre 1.2. Having said that, is this your first character?
  13. If you are having problems keeping your companions equipment updated then I suggest you don't use 4X, stick with Elara or Aric. Buy them gear or use drops and don't try and kit them out with their mission specific rewards items. Their equipment is interchangeable ( except for weapons ), so you really only need to gear one up. The same gear can be used for Yuun and Tanno as well. Remember too that you can use a lot of your outdated gear for them as well, as long as it isn't 'Trooper' specific.
  14. Try this site: http://www.swtor-spy.com/datacrons/
  15. Well if you really wanted to play a char like that you could equip armour, implants etc with the wrong stats for your class. However I can imagine the hastles created by the system you propose , there are already many cries for AC respecs, I dread to think how many would moan when they totally screwed up a char by putting points in the wrong place and found that they couldn't reverse it.
  16. From my own observation, I'm not sure they ever give up completely. All I've noticed is a reduction in agro radius the higher you are above a mobs level. I've had mobs on Coruscant attack my lvl 50 when I've been harvesting low level mats if you get to close to them, especially silver and gold mobs.
  17. Ah..you've been hit by that 'bug'. I've found quite a few missions that do that, Republic Trooper has quite a few that don't progress properly depending on how you travel to the target.
  18. What does the mission log say? If your class mission is similiar to the Warrior one, the log tells you to meet up with your Master in the city. The green arrows don't always work, but the mission log usually gives enough information to find your target.
  19. Have you tried using Aric? He was the one I used when my Commando was a CM. Yuun ( once you get him ) is also worth a try if you can find a decent weapon for him.
  20. I may be wrong here, but I don't think Legacy Level directly affects Companion performance. From my reading of the patch notes it is: Presence Buff from getting a human to 50 and completing their class mission. Presence Buff for each Companion whose mission series you have completed. Stat Buff for each Companion Class type that you have maxed.
  21. Yes, they did acknowledge that the fix didn't work ( once players reported it ) and pulled it from the patch notes. If they are having problems sorting this bug then it would be good of them to let us know that it is a priority and will be fixed ASAP. I too hoped it would be mentioned in todays 'notes' and am very disappointed that it isn't.
  22. It was meant to have been fixed with todays patch. The fix didn't work and so far no word of when it will be fixed. Yes, it is damned annoying.
  23. You will also see that message if the post has been deleted/removed. Not sure if it happens when a post is moved though.
  24. Well I was searching for Gifts last night. With Misc Category selected and Any..nothing came up. Changed Any to Cheap and search showed pages and pages of them. Maybe there is a bug with Any??
  25. Were you offered a choice of Planets to go to. If Imp is the same as Rep, then once you get your ship you are sent to 2 Planets ( For Rep its Taris lvl 16 start and Nar Shaada lvl 21 start ). Maybe you've gone to the higher level first?
