  1. Agree, considerably worse. TOFN Server. We ran through it twice this evening, almost every fight the whole thing would freeze for a second or two, then back to normal. It was like someone was repeatedly hitting the pause button.
  2. One of the original threads on the legacy perk when it was introduced. It includes some Dev 'clarification'. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=492276
  3. My group had 2 KDY kits drop in a single run this evening. One from a named human elite defender and one from the end boss.
  4. Level 55 doing Kuat FP. One of the early sections where you gather codes to assemble the Starship. Each time I used a console to select the ship parts, my companion would be dismissed. Also, like others are experiencing, frequent lag delays of several seconds.
  5. Blue Mountain is the first big jump in difficulty and you certainly aren't the first to hit a wall there. Don't give up though, learn from it. Adjust your build, even go back and earn some more AP/SP if you need too. Study the mobs, find a build that works against them and move on. You will find you need to do that fairly often in the game. It is trying to get you to adapt and learn new ways, a skill you will find very useful later on. If you are mainly soloing, there is no real 'one build to kill them all', even changing one skill or a passive can make a big difference.
  6. As far as I know, the bonus series will unlock when: a. You are the right level. b. You have completed that planets main story mission. Some bonus series require you to return to the planet later in the game and can't be picked up as soon you finish your first visit there.
  7. The answer you are looking for is no. Colour is tied to the crystal, so the only way to change the colour is swap it out. There are no dyes that work on them.
  8. The event you are looking for isn't currently running. It is only active for one week a month and usually starts on a Tuesday. When it is running you pick up missions from a terminal in the Cartel Bazaar.
  9. Played it for over a year just about and loved it until new content slowed to a halt. I loved the NM instances, but as others have said, a good well co-ordinated team is needed to beat them, especially the later ones. I think the hardest part of the game for newbies is the 'wheel' and how to make the most of it. The 'starter' builds you can aim for aren't always the best. Don't be afraid to experiment with builds and study the wheel well. Look for synergies across skills and be prepared to have a variety of builds to fight different mob types. A game well worth trying and spending some time in. Yes, there are cheat guides, all games have them. The challenge of TSW is finding things out and doing it on your own. I also found it had one of the best communities of all the MMO's I've played.
  10. [quote=craggy;7147349 Would I be right in thinking I'm probably best to stick with the Adaptive oranges for the most part whilst I'm levelling up, and just using Planetary Comms to keep me in mods? Then there's Augments. I've tried to read up on that and have no idea. Is this something I should even worry about pre-50? I enjoy Flashpoints and was looking forward to doing some Ops, but again, see that they're lvl50+ so no worries there. Have unlocked some Legacy perks and bought some Cartel Packs (and sold most of the stuff off on GTN for plenty of dosh) but are there any big recommendations for how to spend my Cartel Coins? 1. Get a look from adaptive gear that you like and stick with it using Planetary ( later Basic etc. ) Comms to keep your mods refreshed. 2. Augments probably aren't worth it until you hit cap, then they are well worth it. 3. For spending cc's I would suggest Legacy perks and unlocks. Not sure if you are a sub or not, but the cap now is 55 and gearing up post 50 uses various new comms like Basic, Elite and Ultimate.
  11. From the transfer FAQ: http://www.swtor.com/support/helpcenter/5314 "Do my transferred characters count towards Legacy Unlocks? Yes, all Legacy Unlocks that your characters have earned will be automatically applied to your new Legacy on your selected destination server. These include Species, Class, Companion and Legacy Level based unlocks." As to the other point about 'losing half your legacy level on transfer', this is incorrect. A friend recently transferred a low level alt to my server and her level 50 legacy came too. When I transferred my characters ( all but one ), from Red Eclipse to TOFN, my full legacy level moved with me.
  12. The TSW Gatekeeper test is good, you need to know how to play your class to pass it. Unfortunately you can by pass it for your 'chosen' class by completing it for one of the other classes. i.e. A DPS can do the Tank or Healer one which are considered to be a bit easier. You can then go back to being a DPS without actually having passed the DPS test. So in that respect it doesn't work as a 'class test' unless the player is honest with themselves. Passing the test simply unlocks NM content, it doesn't guarantee that the people you team with for that content have actually passed the test for the role they are filling.
  13. You may well need to buy more than one of each piece, or a piece from another set and swap the mods and enhancements around. Only the Armour mods ( and Barrels/Hilts ) are item specific, so you could take an enhancement ( with stats you need ) from a chest piece and drop it into boots if the boots come with stats you don't need or want.
  14. What type of armour are you trying to mod? Is it an Orange, Adaptive or Purple grade with open mod slots? If it is a green or blue grade then they are not moddable. The only mod slots you can add to an existing item are Augment slots, there are no kits to add armour, mod or enhancement slots.

    Try commensurate? commensurate corresponding in size or degree; in proportion. "salary will be commensurate with age and experience" synonyms: equivalent, equal, corresponding, correspondent, comparable, proportionate, proportional;
  16. I've never found a way to calculate that. The system is not straightforward. Putting the same armour mod into different pieces will give different results. The armour rating is affected by the item type ( light, medium or heavy ) and also by which slot it occupies, i.e. the same mod will give a different value if placed in gloves or a chest piece. A general rule though is to try and equip the highest level mods you can for your character level.
  17. Orange yes, Adaptive yes. Some, but not all purples. The item tooltip will show defined slots for Armour, Mod and Enhancement if it is upgradable. On the original subject of Augments, you can also add Augment slots to non-armour items like Relics and Earpieces
  18. You add an Augment to the Augment slot. They come in many variations to suit the different classes, but usually consist of ( + xx endurance ) and ( +xx other stat ). Also worth noting that if, for example, you use a Kit Mk-3 to create the Augment slot, then that slot will only take lvl 3 or lower Augments. That is why most folk don't bother with Augment slots until lvl 55 and you are working on your 'end-game' set. The credit drain is high if you constantly upgrade Augments slots and add new Augments every few levels.
  19. It is something to do with the GSF update. There is an R keybind in the Starfighter settings, clear that or change it to something else and rebind it in your normal settings for reply. Doing that worked for me anyway.
  20. Surge increases the damage or heal dealt by a critical hit.
  21. Running around looking like a parrot because you couldn't find or get matching pieces of armour colour.
  22. ToFN is borked as well, major lag and planets refusing to load.
  23. Cartel Bazaar is down the southern elevator, not central area.
  24. Have you finished the Makeb story mission line? I vaguely recall it becomes available once you have completed that as the Makeb weekly/daily terminals become unlocked. Also check your missions log if you have already completed Makeb. Again I seem to recall you are given the mission automatically and it appears in the Class mission section.
