Hi All, Its been a long time, but after a decent break I am heading back with a few friends and we have been bouncing a few ideas around on what to do, one idea we have is for a Outlaw MC style "Swoop Gang/Club" Ride around in a pack, look awesome, have a bit of fun and do something a little different RP wise, would anyone be potentially interested in this ? What happens to TOR if Bioware closes? Nothing The agreement will be with EA and Lucasfilm, as EA bought Bioware in part due to SWTOR. What they would likely do is look at how it performs individually, how EA is performing and whether or not restructuring is needed. EA is counting on big success with Anthem, they dont have much planned around outside of yearly releases to really bank on this year, If Anthem goes down and EA gets in a spot of bother, the company may look at its operations and see what if anything needs cutting. The long rumoured word is SWTOR was granted a ten year licence, and would be up for review after that, I have no source its just been speculation since they announced the game back in 2008, If 2021 hits they may look at it then and decide, they could have abuy out option to Lucasfilm so they can close down early and compensate them, then the last thing is how the 10 year exclusive rights to EA for Star wars goes, that expires 2023 I believe, aside from massive political or natural disaster I dont think we need to worry about SWTOR for a while yet, numbers are up and the game has regained a positive vibe and still seems to be in the good books for EA. Bioware dying or not likely will not have an impact, the staff will just get renamed under EA Austin and carry on working on TOR

Every new game that comes out has been deemed the death of SWTOR, Yet still it is here, the only death of SWTOR will likely be either a new SW MMO ala what happened with SWG, or what happens at the end of the 10 year Star Wars Licence with EA Anthem is getting mixed reviews and there is a lot riding on its success, while it has impacted TOR with staff working on it,It wont kill it outright

Probably just marketing speak, no one is ever going to come out and say " yeah 2019 will be an okay year for our product"

I think the people aspect is always underrated, the people you play with have an impact on your game and experience here, and especially early on when you still have a massive sense of wonder and unknown and you are able to explore and enjoy new things with good friends is a really great moment, Good people make these games great,

Sooo, whats Rockstar or CDProjekt up to now?

I cant seem to get hyped for Anthem, But in all fairness to the game I havent followed it as closely as I probably could have to really gain interest, I do love its nick name of iron man suits online. In saying that, a big failure for Bioware will impact the company, and with increasing calls for EA to be stripped of the Star Wars exclusive licence I am unsure where that would leave SWTOR ( it may be different due to the fact EA got in years before the exclusive deal) If Anthem under performs we could see more focus put into the game, resources could be juggled around and see SWTOR take a back seat, same potentially if Anthem does well they could refocus talent towards it, With that said, i dont think there will be much impact especially in 2019 with plans already in place for a large update later this year,

Website needs an update, community section stats 2017/2016 articles etc. While SWTOR is an older game, there has been some interest recently, But I do not think it will be a game that suddenly gets a massive in flux in new players, but a little promotion and interest hasnt hurt. Likely with the new stuff happening this year, we could see a real push later in 2019

This was one of the things I was sure Disney would eventually look at doing, albeit even if they had the character in all but name and potentially time line, Would be excellent to see a lot of fan faves appear, even if lightly reworked to fit the new time line Thrawns return was excellent and hoping a lot of Zahns other characters make a return!

it reminds me of one of the early leaks for TOR, shortly after official announcement , it popped up that surveys had gone out to some gamers months before about what turned out to be TOR. One of the things I do remember is it asked if we would enjoy "book like content" or something along those lines, installment based, Guess that turned out the popular choice. While KOTFE is slightly different installment style to the game before it, that is the style that they are going with, installment/book/chapter/TV episode.
