  1. Has anyone pointed out that there is a focus modifier you can hold down to cast at your focus target? Has anyone pointed out that "Cast on Mouseover" support is coming Soon as stated at the Guild Meeting IIRC. You can change keybindings under preferences.
  2. I had no problem going through my story line. If this is your 2nd+ time through, all that presence you'll have will make it cake. If you have enough Presence, just grab a DPS companion and burn through all the mobs faster than they could ever dream of killing you two. If not, your healer is the second companion you get. With him out and outfitted, I was in DPS spec for most of my leveling. IDK about that. I DPS on my Jugg as well and really enjoy it. It seems to be pretty good and stuff gets killed.
  3. It is kinda a big deal, especially in PvP. All his hits hit for 25-40 more damage plus the multipliers, he has more Strength, Endurance and Force-power. Your example also falls in that the team engineered a better spoiler. This guy got this saber through nefarious means. He probably got it by convincing a CSR to "refund" him a lost saber. If BW wanted to prevent this, they would remove next level stuff from the released game. If an poorly trained CSR can't give out wrong items, it won't happen. See what happened with the guy who claimed he got the White crystal. I'm kinda surprised this thread hasn't been locked, deleted, and OP suspended for pointing this out.
  4. Even better. They are unique, meaning you have to open each one before you can buy another. I think there are crafting boxes you can buy for more commendations. The 72 credits each credit box holds ain't that great.
  5. we're supposed to get social points for killing bosses in OPs with 1.3. I know that would help me out a bit.
  6. I would like a per-account cap on characters, not a per-server cap. Especially if we're getting Cathar as playable by the end of the year.
  7. Just today, I've sent out about 100 Slicing missions, Lockbox and Augment Parts. Zero recipes. What's up with that?
  8. That was mentioned as a bug. IIRC, one of the devs said the other week any currently augmented items will get the MK-6 aug slot, no matter what level your character is.
  9. Just mod and armor, IIRC. You can add Aug slots to them, and all equipment, including relics.
  10. IIRC, 1.3 will let us put aug slots in everything (ears, implants, relics). Is there an accuracy mod you can put in those new aug slots? EDIT: You would be able to add 6 Accuracy Aug 25s in your ear, implant, wrist, trinkets. Is 132 accuracy enough? This is all new stat space you don't currently have, so there is no replacing.
  11. I read (somewhere) that it essentially works like the current respec guy, just you can plop him down anywhere. So you still need to pay the (can quickly get outrageous) respec fees. Dual or multi-specs are coming Soon
  12. From all the "World PvP" posts I see, that lvl 50 may never realize that. But, I would hate that the only way to get that was through RaF. Hopefully a color swapped one will also be available.
  13. In my experience, when someone mentions open world pvp, they mean ganking newbies. They try to dress it up like "Oh, we want him to call in others from the zone/guild and it evolve to a giant fight" and then they spawn camp the guy until the logs out. But they mean they want to gank lowbies.
  14. Added this after I finished, before I post: Rereading this, some of this may come out as mean. It is not supposed to read that way. In no way am I attacking you personally, or the RP community in general. I will make a few jokes at their expense, as I'm sure there are those RPers who look down their nose at us plebeians who play the game. 1). I shall freely admit my knowledge of the feminine mind is limited, or at least as limited as any other guy's knowledge. And, I do not RP. But you still have not explained what you are missing. Suggestions are great. And by my "RPing your way out" comment, I meant that you seem to be letting RP opportunities (or your perceived lack of them) become more important than the game. I don't wish to destroy your immersion, but do you delete your character the first time you die? No? Then you have made allowances that this is a game. And if you miss the lamp post, you're on your way to the moon. What are you going to do at 30,000 feet and your head explodes! What if you're on a building looking down on a lamp post? All points of view must be considered. 2). Again, expectations vs. what is there. So speeders are to fast? Did you know, in that other game, when it launched you couldn't take that leisurely 20 minute bird ride? You stopped at every flight path and had to remount. Things change from launch. Though I think I understand this post. You want to turn your game into a screensaver with a chat box? 3). Illum, I think has stars out. I'm 90% sure weather is in the game. You responding to me responding to someone else sometimes makes it sound like I'm saying something different than I mean. Sometimes. 4). I think I've got this one figured out. You are trying to compare the full continents of WoW to SWtoR's planets. Instead, think of each planet as a WoW zone and you'll see they are comparable. 5). What MMO launched with multiple story zones? The truth is, all of them bread-crumb you from one quest hub to the next. Before Cata, WoW had a couple optional zones you could quest through. 6 years later with their 3rd expansion, they expanded low level questing a bit. 6). It is the journey, not the destination. Again, we are being bread-crumbed through a game. The story has to take us to X planet at Y level. A few shortcuts (story wise) were taken. 7). There are plenty of improvements that could be made to this game. I got a wall of text post up in the Suggestions Board for what I think would improve the game. I even added your 'need more benches' to the list since so many here seem to think it is so important. But, the game is made with the traditional loot treadmill of all MMOs. I think it is great that you and your friends want to make it more. But, I also think you don't know what you want. You just want more, whatever more happens to be. Have you mapped out every planet? I sure haven't. I'm trying to go back and get all my datacrons, and some of those areas leading to them are really cool. Get out. Explore the worlds. There are several really cool places out there.
  15. I added the thing about benches. Some people in another thread convinced me they are essential to good games. Now I'll add a smiley face. Benches love smiley faces.
  16. Nope. I just checked. I wish it was this way.
  17. I. Agree. With. You. There. Should. Be. An. Account. Limit,. Not. A. Server. Limit.
  18. Thank you. You have shown an area where you believe the game is lacking, pointed to specific examples, and declared that those missing pieces are not enough to stop you from playing. As long as you don't count the rain, snow, snow storms, sand storms that happen in game, as well as birds and ships randomly flying overhead, you are mostly correct. Day/night cycle I can take or leave. Would it be cool? IMO yes. But, I can see where BW wanted to sidestep moar complaints from the community. 3 scenarios I can see with the implementation of day/night cycles.. 1). OMG! All teh planets have the same rotation. THIS IS BREAKING MY IMMERSION!!!! 2). OMG! All teh planets have different rotation. I can't plan my RP there. THIS IS BREAKING MY IMMERSION!!!! 3). OMG! Y no seasons? THIS IS BREAKING MY IMMERSION!!!! My point is there will be complaints no matter what. Instead of dwelling on them, I am enjoying the game that we have, while being critical of the real faults.
  19. 1). Nope. You mention static, not OP. I point out that there is a diversity of planets. 2). Where is the mechanical mushroom planet? The tropical frozen planet? I must've missed those "re-skins" 3). Eh, 1000 people can argue this all day and both sides would be right. 4). Show me which planet has 100% instances. Please. 5). Did you expect 60+ hours of individual story for each character? Did BW advertise 60+ hours of individual story? What was advertised? Individual stories, which we got. 6). The mythical people again. Who are these people? They always pop up when someone wants to make an argument sound like it has the weight of the masses behind it. I'm running 3 alts right now, in addition to my main. You can easily assume that everyone of the players who have unsubscribed are mad about the exact things you are. I can say they all unsubscribed because they were confused because February had 29 days this year. It is easy to speak for those who aren't here. Defend your own ideas. Don't put words in others' mouths. Don't try to drag others into your point. 7). There is plenty to fault this game for. I got a whole wall of text I posted on the Suggestions Board for tweaks and fixes I'd like to see. But none of it is, IMO, worth unsubscribing over. I'll head over there to add "sittable benches" to the list. If you are not enjoying this game as it is, fine. I have no problem with anyone saying that.
  20. 1). OP complains that everything is all drab and computery. It is not. His RPing expectations are apparently ludicrously high and it is apparently BW's fault they don't meet his expectations, that he doesn't really list. So I stand by my statement of another RPer RPing his way out of the game. 2). Except for all the wild planets. Those overgrown with giant fungi. Ice planets. Etc. 3). And sunsets would've fixed everything? Low pops are a result of them opening to many servers in December. 4). A percent of each planet is sectioned off. Still lots of room out there. Go look for it. Invite buddies to dance there. 5). Kinda like every other MMO out there. 6). Individual class stories. 7). If your definition of fanboi is someone who plays and enjoys the game I was sold, then guilty. Is it everything I always wanted in the most perfectest game ever? No. But I'm not going out of my way to hate on it because it doesn't have benches. My central argument has always been that people need to look at the game that was sold and not complain that it is not some super combination of SWG/EVE/LotR/EQ2/CoD/Minecraft all smashed together. Are your expectations even remotely reasonable?
  21. I am in favor of something like this. Or, when you click on your ship's door, you are given an option to go to the galactic map. Saves one (quick) load screen, but over the life-time of the game (which I hope is long), that could really save some time. Or, they could add the model of the ships' interiors to the Fleet. Take out that loading screen, at least from leaving the fleet.
  22. I think BW just did a quick Find/Replace with the code and put the go back to ship on all shuttle doors. Is this something needing to be fixed? Sure. High priority? No. I think they just need to take a day and fix a lot of these little things, like this and the codex entries. It's not sexy coding this sort of bland find and replace sort of stuff, but it needs to be done. Below is (mostly) tongue-in-cheek sarcasm: Also: L2Click How many thousands of pieces of the wrong gear must you have bought if getting on the wrong shuttle is a serious concern for you?
  23. http://img713.imageshack.us/img713/1730/doppley.jpg I found my own doppelganger the other day. I was bummed to discover 'Doctor' is protected by BW.
  24. I don't know why people leave the game...i guess everyone has his/her own reasons...however, I do know my reasons for searching for another MMO. - No! It are not the bugs---these are found in any game - No! it is not the community... whatever Community there is left. - No! it is not may things people cry for...like PvP and missing endgame content. But it is: - The Game is sterile. What do I mean by this? Well, there is no loveliness to SWTOR. It is all mechanical and cold. Except for all the wild planets. Those overgrown with giant fungi. Ice planets. Etc. I feel like a little Robot set on a rail and given a shove...now go! All there is to do is to complete Quest after Quest... and nothing in between. Like what? What should the developers put in besides quests? I see this all the time, but the posters never say what this other thing they want is. There are not even Benches to stop and sit just to watch the sunset. Well, there is no Sunset. Oes noes! A lack of benches be breaking mah immersion!! I am a dedicated RP player. Things like housing and involved Crafting for me are a must. You get both. Just because they are not up to you standards should not be a slight against this game. I really miss SWG. There I spent days as Bio-Engineer hunting for DNA and creating Creatures. I roamed the planets to discover what was there and got explorer batches. I spend hours every day just to attend to the harvesters... and when I felt like it I went questing. I had also a few favorite spots and went there just to sit, chatting to friends. This is a different game. Also, were you in SWG from day one, or did you join later after all those activities were implemented? Despite inferior graphic quality, and many other short-comings, the old MMO's had, and still have, a loveliness that is (in my opinion) sorely missing in SWTOR. I played older MMOs. You probly haven't heard of them. The SWTOR world is one of mechanical drabness. Little and rare color far between. Duty driven railroaded questing that quickly burns the mind. No place to stop and rest. nothing between quests. If you have to stop and rest in between quests, do so, IRL. If you are seriously complaining that there is no where for your character to stop in between quests... Sure, the Game has many good things. The Stories are decent and the fully voiced Cut-Scenes are superb. So...for people who just play an hour or two a day to vent some real life frustration by clubbing hapless NPC's...or other players...yea...I see that SWTOR will appeal to them. However, I don't think that people who seek for something more meaningful then constant fighting and hunting for better equipment will be stay with the Game...unless things change. /cjoin Goldshire, perhaps? However, at this time I do not see a change. All I see is more railroaded fighting and mechanical crafting in a boxed environment devoid of any human touch. To me, SWTOR is a game made for Droids. Sorry, I am not a Droid.... as it is, the game has little appeal to me to play it for long. Can I have your stuff? Another RPer RPing his way out of the game. You are trying to craft the game around your RPing expectations, instead of crafting your RPing around the game experience. There are lots of tools and many diverse environments. Just because you don't want to go to them, doesn't mean they don't exist. So let's have the developers spend weeks crafting the perfect RP spot just for you. 90% of other RPers will hate it, just on principle, because it is not their perfect spot.
  25. 1) ehh.... IDK. If each class/spec had someway to break roots (besides cc breaker) maybe. Or, if some classes didn't have unlimited free/cheap Slows/Roots on almost no cooldown. If you want a meta-game, then the rooters/slowers should need to think about using them as well. Nothing meta about a one-sided fight. How about a compromise: CC breaker gives you root/slow immunity for 4-6 seconds? 2) Why should I be punished for 2 minutes for breaking a cc at the right time and scoring? That is what it feels like right now.
