  1. I invite you to read the original post. I wouldn't care about this issue if I didn't LOVE this game.
  2. I invite you to log onto my server and check if you think I am making this up. Honestly, I don't understand the push back I (and others) are getting about this issue. Do you think I'm making it up? Are you worried it would be bad PR for Bioware to merge servers? Maybe you just don't care, but if you didn't care I doubt you'd post. I promise you that leaving this server active with ever dwindling populations will not help the game in the long run. The people remaining (particularly the high level ones with more time invested) will grow more and more disillusioned until they will leave. I know if they did merge servers some people would be jumping up and down saying 'fail fail I told you so!' but I don't really care what those people think. A mistake was made with the way Bioware handled the throttling and too many servers were opened.
  3. Look, even if I did decide to reroll all of my alts and such, the problem would still be there (in fact, I would be contributing to the problem for those remaining). For everyone remaining to 'fix' the problem this way would mean that the server would be dead with nobody on it, at which point it may as well be closed right? There really is no difference at that point whether or not the server was merged aside from a lot of unhappy customers having to redo all of the work they've put into their characters because they were unlucky enough to pick a server that didn't end up being popular. It's one thing if the game were a year old and I voluntarily chose a 'low' server and then had second thoughts later, but this was launch day and there was no way of knowing which servers would end up populated and which would end up empty.
  4. Just out of curiousity I just did /whos for level ranges (at 7:28 EST): 1-10 32 players 11-20 50 players 21-30 44 players 31-40 36 players 41-49 21 players 50 4 players Total (Imperial) 187 players
  5. Yes it's too bad for me and the other remaining people, but it is perfectly within Bioware's power to do something about it and make things right for us. The server was perfect after launch, but I get the feeling people migrated back to their pre-launch servers and since then things have been spiraling out of control. I was hesitant to post this at first because ideally I would love for a ton of people to sign up and roll characters on this server, but I don't think that is going to happen.
  6. How do I have the power to change it? By leaving? If I left the server will still be there, but instead of 10 there would be 9 people in the fleet. Closing your eyes to the problem does not make it go away. My server is the Defenestrator, I invite anybody to log on and do a /who if you want to see for yourself. It's ridiculous that people think I have to do this, but here you go. All I did was cut out names to respect people who might not want their character's names posted on the forums. http://i1155.photobucket.com/albums/p544/PiratePenguin/SWTOR/defenestrator_low_pop.jpg
  7. 6:48PM EST and 10 people in the Imperial Fleet (this is an east coast server). I hope someone at Bioware is paying attention.
  8. I've thought about that, but at the moment I feel I have too much invested in my many alts with their associated crew skills and story progress. Plus, even though there aren't many here I've grouped with some nice people that I wouldn't want to bail on. A shame those people aren't always on 24/7 or I might have a group at times. I suppose I'll stay where I am and try to tough it out, but I really hope Bioware is keeping an eye on the situation because it has the potential to negatively impact those of us still left on the server. The worse it gets, the more people will reroll and/or quit the game entirely, and the situation will spiral out of control until the game really does become just a single player game (on this server at least).
  9. Ok now it's 9:40PM EST and there are 18 people in the imperial fleet. Something really needs to be done.
  10. Thank you for understanding. I've actually recommended the game to a number of my friends, of course telling them the server that I am playing on. I fear I may have misled them. I'm hoping that the population will pick up as the game becomes more popular, but if it doesn't I hope Bioware considers merging us with another 'low' population server to enhance the experience for everyone involved.
  11. This is not 'the sky is falling' but a statement of fact. Primetime the population will be about 30 people in the fleet, 10-30 on the starter planets, and somewhere around 10-15 on mid level planets such as Alderaan and Taris.
  12. Once again, I am happy that your server is that way, but the ebbing and flowing of my server is more like the 5 people I originally posted about to 30 people (max) during prime time. I have Republic toons as well on the server and it is about even (typically with a slight edge to the imperial population). I am not logging in one time and saying this, it has been going on like this for weeks. I was hoping it would get better, but it actually seems to be getting worse (possibly due to the end of the 'free month'). I am not a doom and gloomer, I just want to be able to play the game the way it was meant to be played (and I don't feel like I should be charged extra to transfer to another server either).
  13. First of all, I really enjoy this game, but I feel as if some people (like me) are not really getting to experience what it is all about due to the low population of their servers. If your server has a lot of people on it I'm very happy for you, but it has no bearing on what's happening here. I do work, and I happen to work close to home so that I can log on and check the market and send crew away on missions during my lunch hour. I have a screenshot (it is with 6 people not 5, somebody logged in after I posted but before I took the screenie) but I don't really see what I have to gain by lying about it. I have very few complaints about the game and have been enjoying it immensely. It's just that I would love to be doing more flashpoints and engaging in some marketplace fun but there is very little market there to have fun with and it is very hard to get together enough people to do a flashpoint at the appropriate level.
  14. Please consider server mergers. I had originally made characters on one of the populated long queue servers, but I decided to move and start over again to help balance out the population a bit. Most of my characters are now on 'The Defenestrator' server which is an east coast PvE server (great server name btw). It is now 12:30PM and there are 5 people in the imperial fleet, including me. I have many characters in the level 20-30 range and I really do not feel like leveling them all up again on a more populated server, as I feel I was attempting to alleviate Bioware's queue problem at launch by starting on another server. At the time I had no way of knowing that this server would not become popular. As a point of reference, during primetime I typically see between 15-30 people in the fleet. This population density is drastically affecting my gameplay as there is little activity on the trade network and it can be very difficult getting flashpoint groups together. I shudder to think what it is like for the 50s.
  15. I am curious about this as well. I moved from one of the high queue servers when the game launched, but now I find there is about 14 people at the fleet at 8pm EST (on a US EST server) whereas my old server has 164. Normally I wouldn't care, but I am having a heck of a time getting flashpoint groups together, and the market is completely barren. I looked at ship upgrades and there were 4 listed on my server and 12 pages of them listed on my old server. It is nearly impossible for me to find upgrades unless I spam general in the level appropriate ranges (sometimes getting lucky and finding a crafter) and there are very few guilds active. I'd like to wait it out since I have a lot of characters and have put in a lot of effort into leveling crew skills, but at the moment it is hard not to consider rerolling... which unfortunately would only make matters worse for those left behind.
  16. You need archeology components for pretty much everything you want to make. The treasure finding missions give you blue and purple components to make blue and purple gear, but even those require green (archeology) components to build, so if you are only going to take 1 make sure it is archeology.
