  1. I understand that I could just reroll or quit, but neither is something I want to do. I may end up rerolling anyway because I enjoy playing the market and doing flashpoints and heroic quests, and that's just something that is not easily done on my server at the moment. The problem is even after I reroll and am happily playing on a populated server, the Defenestrator is still there, but now has even less people. The problem is not fixed, it's just that I can't see it anymore. Some people (like me) will probably just 'suck it up' and reroll, even though I think it is unfair that a month after the game is out I already have to reroll because I was unlucky enough to choose the server that I did on launch day. A server that Bioware prodded me towards joining by artificially inflating the queue times on the populated servers. Some other people though will likely just get fed up and leave, and that's not something I want to see happen to this game.
  2. The population on 'light' servers IS a problem. You may not care about it since you don't see it, but it's a serious problem for those left on those servers. You get few enough players on a server and it is broken. The game was designed to be massively multiplayer. I'm sure your server is just fine and may even be growing. Great. I'm happy for you. My server? Not so much. In fact, people keep leaving it to reroll on heavily populated servers. As for your second point, I don't really care about the negative publicity. Do you want the development of this game to be for the benefit of the players, or would you rather hand it over to EAs marketing department?
  3. Yeah there are currently 9 people in the imperial fleet on the Defenestrator. It's really terrible. Sad thing is, even if they merged our servers together we would still have a pretty poor population.
  4. It's nice to see somebody else from the Defenestrator chime in. It seems in most every thread people tell me I am exaggerating when I tell them the population numbers I see on a daily basis on this server.
  5. Actually I just logged on to my server and there are 10 people in the fleet, it is currently 6:21PM EST. There are actually 10 level 50s on (the whole side, not in the fleet), which is a large jump from the 6 I saw most of last night. It really is pretty bad on some of these servers. Edit: I just did another survey (sith side only): /who 1-20 54 players /who 21-49 89 players /who 50 10 players TOTAL 153 players
  6. Log on my server (the Defenestrator) and see for yourself tonight if you think some of us are exaggerating.
  7. Except for all of those people who bought the game and created characters at launch, not having an 'original' server to go back to and completely unaware about all of the 'forum QQ' you're talking about. Or do you think that everyone playing the game now was already playing during the prelaunch period? Also, at the end of the day it was Bioware who opened up the new servers and throttled the servers to increase queue times because they WANTED people to roll on those other new servers. You are basically condemning people for doing what Bioware guided them to do.
  8. I don't see how we are supposed to entice people into moving to our low population servers. In fact, the opposite is happening.... people (like me) who get depressed at the lack of people and who still love the game end up rerolling on the high servers making it even worse. People who are marginal on the game (like a friend or two of mine) have said that they will likely just ride it out and finish up their storylines, and if the server is still a ghost town when they get to level 50 they'll just unsub. No sense paying a 'massively multiplayer' subscription without the other people, right? I can't really argue with their logic.
  9. Thank you for the support! Most of us on these servers really love the game and want to keep playing, it's just hard when there are so few people around. No market activity, no flashpoints, and operations are a pipe dream.
  10. This would be amazing although I imagine it would be tough for the accountants to look past the $$ they could be making charging people like the 'other' game does.
  11. I've spent some time in fleet and honestly, there is rarely any chat from anybody so it's not really a case of people being 'annoying'. Occasionally you see somebody looking for a Black Talon group, or rarely somebody looking for any of the other flashpoints. Last night there was one guy who would periodically ask people how to make lots of credits. My point was that if all 6 level 50s wanted to do a flashpoint 2 would be left out. They could be the nicest most fun people in the world (I don't know them personally so I have no idea), but without anybody else to group with they are out of luck. Edit: Changed operation to flashpoint.
  12. No, I didn't mean 6 in fleet. Just type /who and put '50' in the search field and it will show you all level 50s in the game. The /who results are capped at 100, but when there are only 6 online that isn't really a problem. Edit: I do not know if people in warzones are counted with a /who. I do know that warzones do not happen very often on the server.
  13. Last night there were 6 level 50s online on my server (the Defenestrator) during primetime. You don't think a server merge would help them find groups?
  14. Have you read any of the posts? Some of the servers are nearly empty and need to be merged, regardless of how booming your server is on weekends.
  15. There has been no official response that I am aware of.
  16. Imagine how it feels with 22 (during primetime).
  17. Haha, ok that gave me a laugh (somehow I read that in a 'droid' voice).
  18. None of the servers were 'low' or 'light' on launch day, so there really was no way for a lot of the people to know which servers would end up popular and which would not (not all of the servers that were opened on launch day are currently having a population problem).
  19. The problem the OP was addressing concerned the overall low population of the server. Faction imbalance is a completely different problem.
  20. OP I have the same issue on my server and have posted about it in several threads. I play imperial side and there were 12 people in the fleet when I got home from work yesterday. People will likely tell you to reroll, which in the end only hurts your server more. Other people will shout at you because they believe you are furthering some sort of 'this game is failing' agenda. And some people will say that there are 100+ in their fleet so everything is fine (not understanding or acknowledging that you are on a different server). Anyway I'm hoping Bioware will do the right thing, check the numbers, and merge the servers as appropriate.
  21. I am not very new to MMOs. You seem to think it's a better solution for BW to do nothing and just let people move off of those 'dead' servers. I contend that some people move off, but others end up unsubscribing, which is not good for the game. Why wait until the server is completely dead before merging/closing it? Screaming to suit some messed up Jihad? No, I believe the case is more you screaming 'everything is ok for me, so you must be making it up'. Not once have I said the game is failing, only that my server needs a merge. Jihad... right. All I want is to have a healthy 'multiplayer' game for the people on these low population servers. Bioware made a mistake when they opened so many and throttled the prelaunch servers, and my hope is that they fix that mistake.
  22. I hope you're right, but it wouldn't hurt to see one of them post that. If that were the case I could continue playing the characters I enjoy instead of trying to reroll them elsewhere.
  23. How were people who just started at launch to know what servers were going to be popular? Hindsight is 20/20, and BW purposefully set the queues to stop people from rolling on prelaunch servers.
  24. See I don't think that merging servers would bring queues back. I think a common misconception is that people like want to randomly merge all servers, and this isn't the case. Leave all the heavy and full servers alone, they are fine. I'm talking about just merging some of the lower population servers (either together or with 'normal' servers) to make the game better for those people. Personally if BW doesn't say anything soon, I will likely just reroll on a higher population server. Sure I would lose a lot of progress and I don't like that, but I love the game too much to quit. By doing this though I make the problem worse, so I feel that I should say something about it since there aren't many people on these servers to speak up.
  25. Yes I am, because they have not addressed it yet. This is the same way many people informed BW about the ability delay issues which BW started fixing. Just because it is not an issue for you, does not mean it is not an issue at all. Do you think it is healthy for the game for new subscribers to potentially randomly select one of these low population servers? It wouldn't make a great impression.
