  1. Did you read the article in GI? Did you see what they're doing? Not a giant explorable world, no housing, no Free flowing combat, all skillbar just like wow or swtor. Hero Engine, just like WoW. There's nothing elder scrolls about the game other than the name. They took an IP and put a skin on a wow clone, that's Elder Scrolls online. There y'go. Won't kill a damn thing, won't make any impact any harder than this game did. I guess it'll have 3 faction pvp and a DAOC style central hub to fight over..that's something.
  2. They didn't reinvent anything. In fact they went out of their way to try to be so different from the wheel in the oddest ways (Raids=operations, Auction House=GTN, No Customization tabs but we have this orange gear that'll kill the economy instead) Instead of doing something new that mattered, they kept the same stuff that was boring and changed the crap that needed to stay the same.
  3. This! It's almost like Bioware were so intent on doing their own thing they tried so hard..desperately so...to avoid any comparisons to any other game! Instances? No they're flashpoints. Raids...no, they're Operations. Auction house..um..no..that's the GTN now. Appearance slots? Nah, here's some customizable orange stuff instead. It's like they're very first thing when making a decision was to decide if it was different enough. Frankly who cares, if it works there it'll work here. Appearance tabs are a very easy, simple solution. The modable gear idea is thus far a semi-fail. It's killed the economy, no reason to buy anything when everything is handed to you from a vendor or a quest reward. Heck even if you got rid of the commendation vendors you'd still have quest rewards that were superior to the crafted equivalent. I say this not because stats are better, but that they're the same, thus no reason to buy anything at your level when you're just going to get it for free. Yeh, games trying too hard to be "unique" and not spending enough time going with what works.
  4. Obviously the title is vague, and I'm sure everyone wonders about the future. My particular interest lies in wether or not waiting around in SWTOR is going to be worth it or should I move to the secret world when it comes out and come back here later? I enjoy the game, love the storylines and am a progression raider moving into HM Denova. The problem I'm having is frankly dailies are..well they're dailies and dull. The legacy unlocks aren't worth the time required to open up most of 'em. Rocket boots are swell, not 2 million creds swell and an auction house for 5 million that doesn't even work? No thanks. I'm out of stories, at least stories that I'm interested in. I hit 50, maxed out my companions now suddenly there's nothing left storywise for me, hell even my companions don't want to talk to me anymore. So, the last few days I've been logging in out of habit, trying to level up a toon I don't have much interest in leveling and waiting for raid night. I guess ultimately I know nobody can answer my concerns here but it was good to put it in text just to present it to myself really. I'm interested in TSW but there's so little info out there about it....really the question is should I just stick it out and hope that Bioware adds in some fun new stuff or leave for a bit and come back when that stuff is definitely there..
  5. I was wondering this as well. The first couple of times we completed it it seemed that the droid was capable of putting out 7 lightning spires before the first would disapear. Last night he was only getting 3 or 4 before the first disappeared. one thing I can say for sure is that Lorricks explosion cloud of gross stuff defintely does less dmg per splode tho. For those saying it's too hard, it's a challenge, but not an impossible one. Take a team of people that are willing to wipe and learn the encounter. This is one of those fights that watching a video isn't going to clearly demonstrate how to accomplish the goal. You need to go in, get your hands dirty and risk to gain the reward. So tired of things being handed to people, I for one am happy to see the challenge.
  6. What i find hillarious is the whole promotion they're having. come back and see 1.2! Except that we accidentally didn't put in half of 1.2 this morning...sorry. BW I love your games, I love this game...but you guys are lookin' more and more amateurish by the day.
  7. So, there was a nest yesterday. I know cuz I was standing on it. It's gone now, does it move around or did this patch to fix the patch break stuff from the patch?
  8. Well if I wanted to dig around for sources I wouldn't say I think or believe. It's early and I don't want to. That's the information I'm personally going off of, if you want to use it as a jump point to find sources be my guest. I'm not your secretary. The fawn (from what I know) is the Hoth version. As far as HOW on Hoth, that's not widely known yet. Some people know how to do it, but for the most part they seem to be staying quiet so they can farm it and sell it off.
  9. Wow..you are the shining example of a whiney and entitled brat. I want to go where you work and complain that you don't work the way I want you to because I have other things to do. Don't bother to reply, not coming back to this looser thread.
  10. I don't believe so. There are 3 tauntauns as far as I know. 1: the one people get for free in the mail, I think this one has horns. 2: the taunta, I believe this one is the one you get from the CE vendor 3: the taun fawn, this is the one that comes from hoth.
  11. I get it, it was obnoxious, I totally agree with that. However people spent time / creds on those things. I think they should've just changed 'em a bit so they didn't effect anyone other than maybe your own group or...I duno. It was annoying though. I won't miss it.
  12. although only one person can loot the key (In this case the depleted datacron) everyone can actually get the datacron once someone uses the key to unlock it.
  13. I get what you're saying. I just don't see it happening. This game isn't focused on those kinds of things, no game focuses on the RP crowd. Sure they're there and occasionally they get a pat on the head like the poor red headed step child of the community, but RP'rs aren't who the devs are thinking about when making features. Nor should they be if they want to make the most of their money. This game is a gear-centric themepark with obvious progression systems. That's what it is, it's not going to change. That means more pvp, raids, flashpoints, gear and things that effect people who do those things are always going to take priority over things like housing or wether or not you can sit on chairs. It's really just a matter of fact, people have been saying gee it'd be great to have housing in wow since wow was birthed. It hasn't happened and won't, because the people making the game realize that what's making them money is more gear grind and progression, not furniture and wall paint.
  14. No, I disagree with you entirely. Housing does not belong in an mmo. It's a feature that either does or does not exist. It's obviously a very important feature to you. To others it's not. You're currently talking about SWTOR, a game that launched with essentially no player housing. They gave you a ship and that's as close as it gets. This is the game you got. You want a more elaborate style of player housing, then go find that game. I recommend the sims personally. Your polls and what your asking for are meaningless. Would it be nifty if there were these distractions? I suppose, but I can think of about 100 other distractions I'd rather see in the game than what color couch I put in my den that I won't use, most people won't see and has no function at all other than to waste my time. People have said it before me, but in SWG 99% of player cities were abandoned ghost towns full of cluttered buildings that just got in your way. VERY few of them were populated, fewer still had anything worth going to see. Frankly if your at the point in a game where all you got to do is visit someones decorations in their living room, it's maybe time to look at a new game. Something else people already mentioned but I feel is worth reiterating; this housing feature doesn't distract the masses enough. Sure, there are a few like you who would spend hours and hours adjusting the vases to get the proper lighting, but the bulk of the playerbase (IN particular in a game that launched With NO player housing) doesn't care. At most they decorate for a few mins walk away and never come back, realistically the people in this game as it is would just view it as more bank space. You wana throw in pod racing, some space flight, pazzak, any other number of minigames that are actually interactive, I'm with ya. Housing is for lonely people who ran out of things to do in the game so are looking for an excuse to stay. Stop looking, if you're not enjoying it move to something you will.
  15. Nobody likes huttball. Nobody. No.
  16. No Nobody like huttball anymore. We've all been forced to play huttball far too many times (empire anyhow) We no longer wish to play huttball. Hutball is actually a naughty word now, it's replaced other words and is used solely for the purpose of badmouthing someone or something. Huttball is bad. No open world huttball. No. In all seriousness though, your idea would have merit if open world PVP didn't have such fatal flaws in this game. First of all there's only 2 factions so one is always going to outbalance the other. What you're proposing is starting a pick up game in the middle of anywhere and you'd expect people who pass by to NOT interfere? This is the internet, it breeds jerks, jerks do things to mess things like this up. Look at Ilum, they've basically abandoned that entire open world PVP area, check out the pvp area of tatooine, see anyone? Of course you don't, that's because there's no open world PVP in this game, nor will there likely be any anytime soon.
  17. yeah, whatever sick SOB in the gaming industry thought up dailies should be drawn and quartered. Such a fail excuse for content and time sink makes me so mad I can only stomach to do them every so often, and even then only because at some point I need thsoe damn rakata implants. Seriously tho, what guy thought this up? We need something to keep players busy at high lvl, lets come up with something fun and interesting! Nah, lets just do repeatable quests that weren't realy all that interesting the first time but make 'em do them every day for tokens that they have to accumulate a bunch of to buy things they want! BRILLIANT!
  18. So what you're basically stating is this: I like to PvP, I like PvP oriented goals. What are those goals in this game? The answer is...there is none. You queue up for warzones and either enjoy or don't. You get more pvp gear and do the same. Soon you can be ranked for doing exactly that. This isn't a pvp game, sorry. You're looking for something with PvP goals and more pvp focus, check out GW2, I hear it's the bees knees when it comes to that stuff.
  19. I duno what to tell you, I'm not an alt sort of guy so when I roll a toon I like to stick with it, especially if I've put time into it. I guess I'm lucky tho because the server I'm on is decent on the pop issue. Not super awesome, but decent. I guess if I were in your shoes I'd reroll on a heavier server and play a class you hadn't tried yet, maybe even the other faction. That's just what I'd do tho, can't say what's guna work for you.
  20. Now that I think about it though, who am I to tell someone that the minigame they want to see has no place. Heck if it gets people together playing then lets have a frikin' fish off! LOL Someone bring the pyro BH so we can cook these babies.
  21. I believe they know they launched with a butt ton (Yes that's metric) of servers for launch because face it, for launch they needed them. Now we're a few months past launch and I also believe they expected drop off, because in this industry you have to it's pretty much fact that it's going to happen. Now at this point I'd like them to react to that drop off. Shutting down some servers wouldn't hurt anything. Everyone playing is an MMO player either from before or hell they are now, they understand that the heart of an MMO is people to play with, if that's hard to find, then you don't have an MMO. I doubt however that they'll offer free transfers to any server you like. What I'd wager happens is that they'll take X amount of the lowest performing servers and fold them into X amount of medium ones. So server Alphabob gets merged into Betabob and the two communities integrate from there. If they do decide to offer transfers to any server you want, I bet you end up having to pay for it. We're talking EA here after all. I can only imagine the reason that this hasn't really been discussed or done yet is because of the naming system right now. Each player has a unique Surname + How many alts worth of unique names. Bound to be some name crossover, at this point you just have to bite the bullet and say some people are going to loose their name, sorry.
  22. Not guna lie, I dig the game. It has a lot of positives going for it and it has some negatives. In all honesty I don't think I'll be in the game for years and years or even a year. It's pretty easy to gobble up all the content that it has to offer and sit around waiting for more. Such is the way of these kinds of MMO's tho, content comes out. We eat it up and move on to something else in the interim. I've given up trying to find that ONE special game that's guna hold me for years. I'm okay with playing while I have fun and moving on when I don't. Looking to the secret world next..just hope they fix those stick figure animations.
  23. Can you imagine if companions were items you could trade or sell on the GTN? WTT: Malavai Quinn for Mako, PST. Hehe, I'd giggle my arse off at those posts. Shame the vocalizations and stories of the game simply won't allow it. It'd be like star wars pokemon, gota catch 'em all!
  24. Sorry I was responding to poster #2 in the thread, not you. I agree with you tho, there's an unusual amount of unresponsiveness in the game. Can't argue with ya there.
  25. Could've saved a lot of typing time and just said, This game isn't SWG and that's why I'm upset.
