  1. I know what you mean: I'd kept mispelling Yn and Chabosh for so long I almost got devoured! I admit I didn't know the answer to this one... Until I checked Wookieepedia, which is why I'm not going to answer . I am craving for more obscure Star Wars lore questions but admittedly it must be hard to find topics or facts that can't be found somewhere on the web
  2. I see your point and agree to a certain extent (I would still prefer the past methord, also because the "super reward" for the top 3 of each advanced class could be enough to make people check the leaderboards and try to reach the pinnacle). If your idea were to be implemented, though, I would like to see, on the leaderboards, in which top percentage my characters are without having to do the math for myself, especially since more people could do the 10 preliminary Ranked Warzones and enter the ladder at any time, which I believe could be fault of this system (what if people with a lot of alts tried to do those 10 warzones trying to get a low rating just to increase the amount of characters on the ladder so that top 1% is a thousand characters instead of a hundred, giving more chance to their main to be up there?). I also believe it would discourage people who are looking forward to one of the rewards and who wouldn't do warzones otherwise: sure, with the fixed rating they would stop doing warzones right after reaching the set goal but if such goal is not clear (if it is a percentage of a changing number) people who won't have the opportunity to play much or at all during the last period of the season may just give up before even starting. One last note I've just thought of: right now you can't get access to the top percentage in which you fall into since the leaderboards rank based on current rating whereas the rewards were given out based on maximum rating earned (which means that this system would require either adding a "top rating earned ladder" or at least a way to tell in which top percentage you are, giving the rewards based on current rating or, third, not letting players know if they are eligible for the reward at all.
  3. So, I do get the shadow flicker but at a very, very reduced frequency and intensity and only when I'm much closer to the Senate building than you were. I also get the flicker of the spectators' screens in Huttball but that also happened only at a great distance (when I was close to the Rotworm scoreline I had to stop and actually look for the flicker on the opposite wall to actually notice it).
  4. I'll have to check that one too. I haven't logged into the game yet.
  5. Game runs with everything maxed so that's not an issue. I would have picked up an Nvidia if it were for me but it's my father who got the pc I'll check Huttball later today, though I haven't noticed that issues so far. As regards as the Operation encounter, I don't know when I'll be able to do that since I lack time for Ops these days.
  6. If I recall correctly, you can report them by right clicking on their name, no need to type their name anywhere. Of course if you meant that just reading their name was immersion-breaking, then I agree with you
  7. Have you noticed any issue with the light pillars that indicate loot, the lasers in Galactic Starfighter, the electrical power links of some speeders or the /doublelasers emote? Since if you aren't having problems with any or some of these other visual effects it could mean that there is more than just one bug affecting everything (seems to be something useful to know! )
  8. i don't think I've had that... yet. Though I have seen some halos of increasing color brightness towards my character on certain walls/floors but I don't know if it's because of the video card or it's just the shadows which I had turned off most of the time previously (I used to play with a GTS240, everything maxed except for Shadows and AA which were off, and I had about 40-50 fps on average (in Warzones/16 man Operations about 20-40 fps), sometimes lower than that. Now I also have Shadows and AA enabled and get about 20 more fps than before, though some low-fps spikes are still there) I do! It has also happened with the icon that displays to the side of a castbar once or twice but it's something I'm starting to get used to (I'm imposing my subconscious to think that they were in-universe loading screens put there by the devs to increase the realism of the game )
  9. They will reward based on advanced class, not spec, which means that the hybrid issues just becomes a matter of being able to "cheat" speccing hybrid healer/tank and being considered a DPS by the game or vice versa and while I don't recall where, I think I saw or heard a statement about a fix on this. But if an hybrid spec is indeed more powerful than a full-tree spec of the same role, it's just like a PvP-focused full-tree spec being more powerful than another full-tree spec (of the same advanced class) that is more viable in PvE. This being said... I'm a Guardian spec'd Defense up to the end and I'd prefer it if everyone used non-hybrid specs
  10. Great statement! Great idea! Great concept! (Perhaps an Isotope-5 droid or the Archon's mech as the mount tier 1 reward?). mrkmcknz, you're great:jawa_eek: (Though I don't entirely share every other point you've made ). Great to know we have such a player on TOFN!
  11. A "Giradda the Hutt" mount. (goes at walking speed). That said, the other major thing I can think of now is: quality over quantity. Exempli gratia, if you're going to have an armor set, maybe make it identical for each class, but more unique than what we had in Season 1 (perhaps have it as a top reward, so we do not always have a mount up there: this could make people who are more interested in gear rather than in mounts more reasons to shoot for that top tier, especially given that you can't really show off mounts in the current Warzones and riding one of the dozen (all right, perhaps half a dozen ) of Rancors jumping next to the PvP mission terminal on the Fleet is exciting up to a certain point). As a final note, I believe mounts are a great top tier reward but if you'll ever feel like variating what's up there, a unique armor set would be my close-to-first option. Some minor ideas for either lowest or the middle reward: - An item that creates an hologram (almost like the Portable Holodancer, just untargettable so that it could be used in Warzones) that lasts x amount of seconds and that displays either, from easiest to coolest: 1) a Jedi and a Sith fighting (if your character is Republic, the winner is the Jedi, otherwise it's the Sith) 2) a being (of whatever species) with the player's character's class/advanced class who fights *another class/advanced class of the opposite faction (perhaps the mirror class/advanced class)* and wins. This would require doing the animations for each class/advanced class that fit with each other (that are in some way "cinematic" or "cool") and having two endings for each animation, the victory and the defeat. 3) an hologram of your character (if possible) fighting *same as point 2)* 4) an hologram of any of the winners above fighting multiple - generic or character classes - enemies. - A variation of the above could be a regen item that has the player's character fighting an hologram enemy/enemies. - A "For the Republic"/"For the Empire" emote with voiceover, that can be heard by the opposite faction (possibly at great distance ). The animation could be something along the lines of /flourish (showing off the weapon) or a /point tilted upwards or it could be non-existant, (having just the voice)... Thinking more of this idea, perhaps it should be an item instead of an emote (so that it doesn't mess up with the UI, it can have a cooldown attached to it, so to avoid perople spamming, and, more importantly, it can be used in combat! Either independently of the global cooldown, if it has no animation, or restrained by it if it is indeed animated).
  12. Full answer: many people, most of whom I don't know, can name the Sith Lord whose tomb was ransacked by Revan during the Jedi Civil War. If she is asking about long before or shortly after the Jedi Civil War, another option could be Dramath the Second.
  13. Update: it seems that the glitch occours with a frequency that can depend on the local zone the character is in, at least as far as the issue regarding the speeders' energy beams goes, . As you can see, the lightning of the mount is all right until I go beyond the passage and it continues for a little while, even after I go back through the passage into the previous area, before becoming normal again. About the Force Lightning ability, though, it seems that it got bugged both inside and outside the area that made the mount glitch. I don't know whether because the cause of the issue is different or because it simply has an higher chance of not displaying correctly independently from the area the character is in. Lastly, I admit I've only checked it out with Kurtob Alliance speeder (since I only have that speeder on Imperial characters and that area, in which it is very clear when the glitch happens/doesn't happen, can only be accessed by Imperials) so this whole argument might be done only for that vehicle. I hope this helps.
  14. I've just remembered that the /doublelasers Legacy emote is also affected by this.
  15. . I haven't recorded the issue within starfighter since it was taking a bit long for the match to start but if you deem it useful I will show that too. A note for the video: when I move around with the speeders it's because sometimes the lightning power links and the cables connecting the seat to the engines would appear/disappear randomly when moving but apparently this time they didn't want to reappear at all. To point out the common link of these visual effects, I would say they are streams of light/material which don't collide with other objects and which don't cast shadows. I hope this helps.
  16. Here is the DxDiag I'll be installing some video recording and editing software to show what happens, it may take a couple of days. Thank you for your continuos input (even in the other thread). Here's hoping the issue gets finally looked into a little bit more and a solution is found.
  17. This issue has already been discussed in other threads, but since one of them is possibly in the wrong section while the other one has an incorrect title, and since it seems to occour more often since 2.7 came out, I'm starting this thread. Detailed information about the glitch can be found in the pages linked above. In short: it appears that (with some AMD video cards?) certain visual effects such as (1) the lightning of some Inquisitor's abilities (in particular the streams of lightning that go all the way from the player to the target), (2) the pillars of light above dead enemies that indicate loot on them, (3) the laser effects of Galactic Starfighter blaster bolts and (4) the repair drones' green healing laser are often either invisible or less bright. Thank you in advance for the eventual acknowledgement of this issue.
  18. Yet another update: this is also happening on the Sorcerer's Force Lightning ability and on the energy links of the podracers and of the Kurtob Alliance speeder.
  19. Sometimes, in Galactic Starfighter, laser effects (such as the blaster botls themselves or the ray of a repair probe) become invisible or very thin and fading. This has started happening in almost every match since I've changed my pc; here is the Dxdiag: Update: I have now noticed the same thing happening with some of the columns of light that indicate loot on corpses.
  20. The Coruscant Beasts achievements "Animal Control" and "Coruscant Sulky Hound Sportsman" name the hounds "Sulky" whereas every other source, including the Codex and Baron Deathmark's line "Today's post-match cleanup is provided by Korrfun's All-star Salky Kibble. Shouldn't your Salky eat the best talent around?", names them "Salky".
  21. I think the ability Greenbeen means is the one you can see used .
  22. I wholeheartedly agree, especially with the search for the name part. I would also like the meter you suggested, though if implemented the way you've described it it could pose issues (or at least it may not be very efficient) when new ship classes were to be added to the game.
  23. As far as I know, hitting "R" only targets (selects) the last enemies that hit you, it doesn't actually rotate the spaceship, which is something you have to do manually. Rotational Thrusters rotate the Gunship quickly and automatically towards the enemy you have targeted (which may be the last one that hit you or any other of your choice).
  24. By the way, both the two Strike Fighters and the two Scouts have some different components they can use (for example, the default Strike Fighter has a ion cannon whereas the unlocked one has an ion missile. The Scouts have two shared items and one unique item each for the Systems slot, which gives them their slot 1 ability).
  25. I agree with the OP on the nuisances, I would like to see the ability to hide the messages. What do you have against Wookies?
