  1. They've stated that the only way to detach an authenticator from your account is through calling customer service, which will likely involve them asking you a few questions to verify your identity. Once they detach it, you get a new one. Personally, since I already have a functioning iPod Touch, I just got the app. It's free, the device has a rechargeable battery, and it seems like the app authenticators typically show the number longer than the little keys do.
  2. People play around the clock, and downtime is inevitable, so, someone's gonna be getting the short end.
  3. Wish I could help you. I avoided the Origin bit after what I heard about Battlefield 3 and other people pre-ordering from Origin. Instead I just got a physical copy of the standard edition, then did that upgrade option right on swtor.com when I was subscribing and all that. Honestly, not sure why they weren't able to just facilitate the actual "digital" version of the digital deluxe edition through this site, or just tie your account into your Origin pre-order. When I upgraded, there was no second code I had to redeem, it simply updated my account to DDE status automatically.
  4. Some of those look like exterior shots. I'm at work, we have one copy of the CE so I pulled it off the shelf to to make sure I knew where some of those pics are taken of. Ours doesn't appear that damaged. The retailer or the courier could be at fault for this. EA isn't the lone suspect. I hope if it was delivered to your house that they used a lot of packaging...
  5. If you registered your pre-order code to your account, you will always get that color crystal for every new toon you create as long as you register the game to that same account. Doesn't matter if you cancelled your pre-order with the store. Edit: If what you said about invalidation is true, then nevermind, lol. I simply meant that cancelling your pre-order didn't invalidate it, but waiting too long to register a copy of the game might.
  6. 23" LED monitor. If I play it on my 40" LCD TV, I'd rather have it on a console than rig wires all over the place. I decided for computer use, 23" is large enough for me. Granted, I am using 2 23" LED monitors handy having the extra desktop space so I don't have to minimize the game for anything.
  7. I'm honestly confused. You're 50, which is the cap, so more mission lines aren't going to increase your level. Maybe it would give you more credits and loot, but that's basically what flashpoints are for. Since you rushed, flashpoints will just be a matter of waiting for people to catch up. But it sounds like you're saying you rushed through everything, and now you're looking for content? To what, rush through it? Or were you planning on rushing until you were 50 and then start watching all the convos and storyline after that point? If you're looking for more convos and storyline, you may wanna look behind you. I'm not trying to be sarcastic or anything, I'm honestly wondering what it is you're looking for in additional content if you rushed through all the content from 1 to 50.
  8. My twi'leks headband disappears when I wear "hooded" chestpieces that don't have hoods. occasionally my lower jaw juts out through my lower lip the game forgets I unchecked "show sith corruption" Nothing is perfect - go back to dreamland (btw I love the game, upgraded to digital deluxe edition, have 4 characters over level 10, having a blast, but "perfect" is a word people throw around way too much)
  9. Go for it. Your pre-order code doesn't stop you from registering the cd-key from either of the other 2 editions of the game. EDIT: I'm also fairly sure that if you already registered the cd-key from, say, that Standard Edition, you're able to enter another cd-key only as long as it's for either the Digital Deluxe or Collector's Editions. (you can go up the ladder, but not down)
  10. I can understand the fade to black not being necessary, but the increasingly long rez timers for the medical droid is about the only death penalty in the game aside from possibly damage to your gear... Fade to black, maybe, but increasingly long rez timers are working as intended, so you can't just run in mashing keys until you win with no drawback whatsoever to dying.
  11. That's part and parcel of a newly launched MMO. As you said, there's no way to tell if the light pop server you pick becomes the heavy pop problem you sought to avoid in the first place. At this point, if it's down to trying a light pop server or not playing, I'd try moving servers at least once and see how it goes. If it's like My Summer Vacation where one guy goes out, finds a fish, then all the other boats swarm around him, then I'd consider waiting it out, if the queues are an issue. (I'm not trying to be sarcastic about your problem, I can sympathize giving the server I can't really leave due to friends/guild occasionally has hour+ 1000 people queues)
  12. Somewhere in one of the stickies or responses out there, they've specifically stated you can't attach 2 retail codes to the same account. EDIT: If you have any way of having the secondary e-mail account forward e-mails to the first, that might be your best bet.
  13. I believe it's been available for months. If you're talking about the upgrade pack for people who bought the Standard Edition, it's available now. I bought it today right after I registered my copy and subscribed.
  14. The only thing the CE had that the DDE didn't that I was interested in was the soundtrack, which wasn't worth the $70-$90 extra (depending on whether you're looking at it from the SE or DDE perspective) That being said, I didn't wanna deal with Origin either. I pre-ordered SE but saw those 5 in-game items as being mildly interesting enough for $20. Half my republic characters are twi'lek, and from what I've seen the holo-dancer does the /clubdance animation, and at least my characters are in color. Since that wristband is supposed to be a part of DDE, and I had been joking that if I ever saved up 1 mil credits that I'd use the access to jump off (if it lets you), so the upgrade option offered with the physical SE was perfect for me. Ultimately though, if you bought the CE, you can look at it however you want; but you paid the extra $90 for the in-game AND physical items, not just whatever item(s) you wanted the most.
  15. I played it for the first time today. I was thinking I'd enjoy it because everyone was comparing it to Star Fox... I wasn't expecting my ship to turn into an Arwing or anything, but the control just feels uber-sloppy compared to Star Fox. That's my only complaint though, since I went into it with an expectation I was bound to be disappointed. That's why I didn't follow this game at all. My friend would send me videos and links and I ignored them all. I went into beta with 0 expectations and found myself having a good time. Then I went into space combat expecting the controls to feel like Star Fox but without a mouse instead of an analog stick, and decided it "sucked". I'll just have to get used to the new control scheme and judge it without comparing it to another game, or just hope I enjoy whatever they have in the works for it better than how they have it now.
  16. Code is one-time use. Once you've registered it, that's it. You never enter it again. You registered the code to the account you created on swtor.com, not your computer. The closest thing your PC comes to being involved with your account is accessing your account, and having to answer one of your security questions if you access it from a different computer. You can log into your account from any computer you want (not exactly advisable unless you trust said computer), but you cannot log into the game from two different computers on the same account at the same time.
  17. Back of the box: "Acceptance of End User Access and License Agreement ("EUALA"), Persistent Internet Connection, and Account Registration with enclosed one-time use serial code required to play. Paid Subscription AND valid payment method required to play." You get your free 30 days to a game that requires valid payment info to access. Front and back of the box. There's no legal borderline about this.
  18. Aw, don't take this away, I have an absolute blast with some of the jumping bits. I could understand if they made some kind of near-impossible jump for a main story mission or any mission really, but for an optional out-of-the-way thing? Gimme a break.
  19. Twice I said "LFG" for a heroic and when I got invited right after, I was told the group was in a different instance. Chat can be heard across all instances. The problem I see in the areas that get split into instances is that once one fills, then it starts up another. Problem is, this means the spill over starts in a mostly empty instance. I won't even try to guess a better system for this, I wouldn't know. What I do know is chat works over all instances of the same planet/station on that server.
  20. I guess I'm in that lucky "25%", and I haven't heard a single complaint about this on general chat between the 3-4 different planets I've been to + fleet on my server...
  21. I came up with a name on the spot when I first got into beta. I've yet to enter it anywhere between then and now and be told it wasn't available. I did grab one popular name for the fun of it, but seeing as it's a name that fits in the SW universe and isn't exclusively from one IP, it's not that bad. Otherwise, I almost always try to come up with my own names. They're usually inspired from different memories or IPs, but never a direct plug or even so far as a different spelling of the same name. Just inspired. That way, I rarely get told they're taken.
  22. That number at the top left of the screen isn't how many people are playing server-wide, that's how many people are on the planet/station you're on.
