  1. I understand why it'd be helpful to have this in-game, but then it becomes one more issue with pugs. If you have one player who doesn't want to use voice, and has it turned off, you have to type if there's anything you need to communicate to them and defeats the purpose of having voice in the first place. Why would anyone not want voice comm? Some people love to grief with the mic... It's an epic battle until someone's mom can be heard telling them it's time for bed Someone thinks it's cool/funny/rebellious to play music and/or sing on mic Background noise making it through someone's mic The plethora of problems that some people have with poor quality mics (clicking noises, too quiet, intermittently cut out, etc) To list a few. Are there ways around these issues? Sure. But that list isn't my main point. Ultimately the issue is that some people will have voice on, others off, and then you have to type if for any reason you need to communicate to them as well. Would probably then segregate players looking for pugs, with "voice" and "no voice" tagged on the end of LFG messages. Just playing devil's advocate here... Personally it would be nifty, but those are probably some issues to consider, and I just chuckled at the thought of that sexy female twi'lek smuggler answering back with a deep man voice...
  2. Personally, I'm enjoying my time on SWTOR. I'm not saying people's concerns or issues aren't valid, but honestly, not all of us dislike the game or find the issues game-breaking. Yes, stuff needs to be changed, but as others have already stated in this thread (and elsewhere), I enjoy the system. I couldn't play WoW past level 20 without getting bored. SWTOR, however, I've gotten a character to 30+ inside of a month. If you knew me at all, you'd know that's saying something. Seems to me like eventually some company is going to come up with a new "formula" that works out great. Then other companies will follow their example and people will accuse them of stealing it from the first company that tried it, say it's old, stale, need something new, etc. I think I'll stay out of that cycle.
  3. I click the crap out of my mouse buttons... all 15 of them.
  4. I can somewhat understand this, but do you not normally have your cell with you when you're at your desk?
  5. First time I won the engineer flush choice on Esseles (during beta), the most I got was a "WHOA!", but no harsh words or even ill-will afterwords. If anything, I just saved the group a few minutes of having to run around. X) But I've definitely heard of people raging over this nonsense. It's a game, you still get the points for whichever side choice you chose. Don't like it? Play it again, Sam. Or just wait a few levels and solo it with your companion, you get to make all the choices.
  6. Yeah it's fishy, although I noticed the screenshot (noticed you removed the link before I hit reply) didn't quite add up to what you said in your OP. (didn't see a confirmation that he was logging in across servers, just you asking him if he did and him saying 'nope')
  7. Well, anyone who cancels their sub before 1/20 will no longer have posting rights on the forums, since we're still on that free month. Problem is, I think that's only the case if you registered your account on release day. If someone registered their account, say, on the 23rd, then cancelled their account, they have until 1/23.
  8. Can I hug you? or some kinda quote I can put in my signature? You've become a sort of guy-in-a-Mickey-Mouse-costume on these forums; you're always there, waving.
  9. Was just there this morning after the latest patch. There are FOUR LIGHTS! er, I mean, two suns. Definitely 2 suns. That second bright light next to the first is also a sun, not your character's spotlight.
  10. Was about to post the same thing; when I solo Esseles runs for the fun of it, I turn the music off and play my own since nothing new is going to happen. When I leave, I turn it back on, but sometimes I double-check that I didn't forget because the game seems so silent once I'm actually on a planet. It isn't exactly a critical issue, but it does snag my attention from time to time.
  11. Yeah... OP should be honored that they got at least 2 known trolls into one thread. I figured their pungent smell kept each other at bay. Maybe they felt threatened and decided to overlook their collective funk and try to stave off their inevitable dewm? (that red squiggly line under 'dewm' can shove it, it's a word in my dictionary)
  12. Problem is, the lack of an off-topic forum doesn't mean they allow you to, or that you should, post off-topic stuff on an on-topic forum.
  13. Killing WoW is a misnomer. I don't give a !@#$ about whether a game I am ENJOYING is "beating" another game. If you wanna whack epeens with people, fine, but for me: I'm enjoying SWTOR. /discussion
  14. I have had this issue myself with a few convos on the Esseles flashpoint, and I've seen fellow players bolt off in the same (but incorrect) direction as well at these same points after convos. I haven't had issues with combat right after just yet, but I know what you're talking about in terms of the game leaving you disoriented. Perhaps there could be a way to have the camera swivel from the last perspective in the convo to where you're currently facing? I know it switches to special "animation sets" that ignore where you were when you started the convo, but put you back when you're done. Maybe instead it could place everyone where the conversation scene has you standing at the end and the camera swivels behind you at the end? I have no idea how that Hero Engine works, maybe it can't do that.
  15. Since you didn't give the haters much to rage on by simply saying you love the game... Only the lowliest of the low are going to bother trying to drum up flak by asking you "Why?" and hopefully get more out of you. As is, there's nothing much in your OP in and of itself to discuss. Seems like you're phishing for phlak? (Just thought up 'phlak', maybe it'll catch on?)
