  1. My BH is a LS female BH shieldtech, so everything is colored from that. Story-wise, I really enjoyed the Torian romance arc (even if I ended up going through it too quickly by maxing out his affection as soon as I got him and then burning through his quests). For the BH character, it was really well-done. In addition, I really felt like it made Torian a stable character that can be counted on, as my BH's left-hand. I ended up using pretty much just Torian once I got him, aside from a few boss encounters. It just went quicker as a tank and DPS and down-time wasn't that bad (needign to R&R after every 3 or so mob packs). Mako's story, while it had the most work, didn't capture me as much, even if Mako is practically my BH's little sister and left-hand at this point. It's possible I ruined it for myself by reading too many spoilers... I used Mako until I got Torian and then would bust her out for a few tough boss fights. Downtime was nil but killing mobs just took too long. Blizz, while he is so stinking adorable and awesome, had a blink and you'll miss it story. I used Blizz a tiny bit when I first got him, purely for comic relief. As I'm a tank myself, never had a need for another tank. Skadge basically insulted me and my crew every time we spoke until the very last conversation. Plus, I don't like him and he smells bad. I'm really regretting giving him some of my old armor because it will never be the same again. Skadge just runs crafting missions for me. I have never used him and most likely, never will. Gault really surprised me. I started off angry at having to take him with me, disgusted by his behavior, but at the end of his story arc, my opinion had changed. His last few quests really showed him in a different light. I ended up liking his story the best of the non-romance companions. Now that I'm running heroics with my healer husband, I've been gearing up and trying to run with Gualt more, as a ranged DPS is easier to heal and deal with than a melee. Still, I'm used to Torian and don't like the style as much.
  2. I ran into the entrance with Skadge out and then pulled out a different companion once I was inside.

    Skadge

My biggest issue with Skadge is that his hunting style is the complete opposite of mine. My BH is like a surgeon - quick, efficient, with as minimal outside damage as possible. Skadge is a sledgehammer - he powers in without a reasonable attack plan.
  4. Have you made sure she's in her healing stance? Are you keeping her gear up-to-date?
  5. lxriseaginstxl <-- guy on my server. Never fails to crack my husband or I up when we see this. Even better was the time we were laughing at the name and our guildie invited him to a group and was then surprised lx was a terrible, terrible player.
  6. Corso I would say is in his mid-20s to early 30s. He talks a lot about the service he's seen and the fights he's been in. Torian is probably mid 20s. His dad started the uprising against Mandalore sometime before the Great War ended, which lasted 28 years. ToR takes place 10 years after and I think you meet Torian about "a year" in game time after you start your class quests. Torian knows his dad, so Jicoln couldn't have left when Torian was an infant. I'd probably place the uprising around the time of the Mandalorean Blockcade, so around 11 years before the war ended. If Torian was around 6-7 at this time, he'd be 28-29 now. I am by no means an expert on lore, so my numbers may be off. However, this makes sense with the reported age of 29 for Torian.
  7. I don't think you're going to be able to find any pre-order keys from any vendors. Once the game went live, pre-order keys were no longer available. If you're desperate for access to a black-yellow color crystal, *maybe* you'll be able to find someone selling a pre-order key on eBay. And that's a big maybe.
  8. You don't have to use Skadge. Walk in with him out, then summon another companion.
  9. No. Light, medium, and heavy armor have a base armor value. Taking an armor mod from heavy armor to light armor does not increase the light armor's armor value to that of the heavy armor's armor value. So, social items for heavy and medium armor classes are merely social, unlike for light armor classes.
  10. It really comes down to keeping your companions geared. My main is a shieldtech BH. Initially I started out using Mako but once I got Torian (melee DPS), I only used Mako for really tough fights. I might have to recooperate between every two or three packs with Torian, but we mow through mobs like a hot knift through butter. I work hard on making sure Torian's gear is level appropriate, and then Mako's. My smuggler is a healer, so I've been using Corso exclusively. Right now, I've been buying upgrades for his gear before my own. Pretty much, if you want your companions to do better, gear them.
  11. I've been playing since the second day of early release. My main's been 50 for a week or two (I really took my time on leveling her). My main alt is 29, I have a bank-ish alt at 20 (I will occassionally PvP/space combat/story quest on him), another alt I just started this weekend at 11, and have putzed around with several other low level characters that have been deleted and re-rolled several times. Aside from the first few days of release (which I ended up having off from work), I've been playing extremely casually. Most days during the week I'll only log on for a few minutes to send my companions out on crafting missions. I've really been enjoying the relaxed pace and have been having fun bouncing around different characters.
  12. Except it doesn't go from 30 secs to 10 mins. It starts 10 sec, then 30 sec, then 90 secs, and then it goes to 10 minutes, if you die within a short period of time. Which is the way the game is telling you that you are not high enough level/geared enough for what you are attempting. By the way, the chance to truly corpse runs is always there. The on-the-spot rez timer makes sense - it stops people from butting their heads against content they can't defeat yet. If that timer wasn't there, how long would you spend trying to kill something that kept killing you and killing you and killing you?
  13. If you're hitting the 10 min rez timer, you're probably in an area too high for your level. You get the 10 min delay after you die four times - I think that's Bioware's way of telling you that what you are attempting is too difficult for you.
  14. By any chance, did you get it after completing the BH story on Quesh? If it's a gray item, it's vendor trash, no matter what the flavor text says. Feel free to sell it for 500 credits.
  15. I think a lot of the perception on the DS/LS choices depends on your class and if you're Republic or Imperial. I ended up only making one DS choice on my BH (it was to punch a big jerk of a noble who was insulting me). In most of the cases, the DS choice really felt like the nasty choice - typically it was a kill or capture choice for my class quests and slow painful death or quick honorable death for planet quests. I really felt like the DS/LS choices were pretty black and white. In comparison, my smuggler is fairly neutral, leaning LS. I really feel like the planet quests in particular are not as black or white. For example, the infamous medicine quest on Ord Mantell or the stopping a Senator from speaking on Coruscant. In comparison, my husband leveled his SI purely DS. I would hear him cackle with glee when he would make a quest choice to punch kittens in the face. Overall, for the Imperial quests, if you go DS, you can do some really dark and awful stuff. Going LS, you're still doing some nasty stuff but you're never a goody-goody about it. With the Republic, the LS choices feel really stilted and stiff and extremely goody-goody about them. DS seem at least interesting and like you're making a personal choice.
