  1. You have found my stumbling block and the stumbling block of many others. Doing the same planet quests got unbearable the third time around.

While I originally thought it wouldn't be a problem for me it has and turned me off completely. My Sith sorc sits on Corellia @ level 48 and done with his class quests. All I can do now are Corellia and it's like being ordered to have sex with Rosanne Barr. Just ain't gonna happen.

Another huge problem I found that will cripple this MMO is character attachment. Most MMO's want you to invest in a character and get hooked in that way. There is no toon attachment in SWTOR. Got my JK to 50 and threw him in the trash, rolled a BH got him to 50 and same situation, now my Sorcerer is 48 and what's my choice? Throw him in the trash as well to do it all over again. I have zero attachment to any of my characters.

I quit WOW right after WOTLK with multiple level 80's across 5 accounts all decked out. I feel more attached to those characters I haven't played in YEARS than any of my SWTOR guys.

  2. Join the club man.

Shadow Hand was such a bustling beta to retail server and it is quite lonely now. I remember when Fleet imp side was always 100+ people and when I logged today there were 28 people. Even got my Unusual Egg today. Seems even the farmers have abandoned us.

Depressing for sure... My items on the GTN never sell despite being way underpriced and wide variety. I mean NEVER sell. Nobody around on any planets. Just a shadow of its former self a launch. So sad.

  3. Server merges/transfers and a LFG tool and the game would get a gigantic boost... They should really just stop everything they are doing and focus on those two things and get them out yesterday.

Unfortunately it is already too late. BW won't get their stuff together before they've bled to death from sub loss. Inc f2p...:(

Hey it makes me sad and disappointed too. What am I if I'm not a troll or a fanboy? Just someone who sees the fatal flaws and won't lie to themself everything is A.O.K.

SWTOR could have been so much more... The magic hour is over now and people's interest has now wained. All they can do now is try and retain some of us and to do that they'll need merges/lfg tool. Which won't be here soon enough.

  4. We all felt very confident when we 'firt' hit 50. Now many of us who've been here since before BETA are on their third or more 50. I have 3 level 50's myself.

It's like make it to 50, start to like a character while leveling, then dump them in the trash to do it all over again. Very unfortunate but SWTOR got really repetitve really fast. Everything you listed gets old the umpteenth time you've gone through it and by the end of it all you just ask what's the point?

SWTOR is a single player game with co-op elements. Doesn't feel massive and for those of us on dying servers makes it very lonely. Much less trying to even do fp's, op's, or anything groupish. A simple LFG tool would at least give some boost to our morale.

  5. If you're in a guild- well you shouldn't have to be pugging even if they advanced past you. Gearing up new members and people in your situation should be a standard. If your guild isn't going to help you at all then what's the point of even being in that guild?

Just join a guild just starting out on OPs.

  6. I knew exactly what I was getting into. My fault was expecting there to be some MMO basics such as a LFG tool by this point.

Really at this point I figured they'd have advanced the game further in a different direction. With more focus on the casual player instead of falling into the same traps of every other MMO that failed. Where's our appearance tab, dual specs, hell just something for the casual player to do at 50.

All I see now is a lack of focus and definite lack of communication. BW seem so out of touch with what players want that I don't see them ever coming around until it's way too late.

They'll all have their emergency board meeting and try and throw bones to keep us all subbed. Free Tauntaun and 30 days if you JUST stay subbed, please please please! That's the future I am seeing right now. Slashed game prices and gimmicks just like Rift did to bandaid hemmoraging subs.

  7. Not so much the bugs that bug me. It's the unintuitive decisions that get me. Such as no LFG tool which should be an MMO standard these days. The division of players across many different instanced zones spreading the population way too thin. Introducing a Legacy system with outrageous pricetags on perks that you already earned by leveling. Etc...

A GTN on my shp! You think YAY ALRIGHT! They finally got something right until you see it costs 5 million creds. THEN you realize it's a neutral auction house that nobody uses or will ever use... Lack of intuition that goes all through the game in many ways.

  8. If you like it you like it.

There's many things I do like about SWTOR and in the beginning was just as diligent in its defense... Then you get to a point where you must take off the rose colored glasses and see some realities.

A LFG tool should be standard in MMOs these days... MMOs live and DIE by them. That was my first mind boggle when I realized there was no LFG tool especially with the instancing and population spread.

The game IS in a major decline. Not a slam just the cold facts anyone can gather from monitoring their own server... Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see every month fleet/planet populations dropping.

SWTOR is missing some essentials that will keep it hamstrung. One of the main things is character attachment. I lose attachment every time I level another alt to 50... When you are 50 - you have nothing to do except re-roll. The class quests are fantastic but too few and far between. Grinding out the same planets quests that don't change are boring and dreadful by the 3rd time around.

So yell your love from the rooftops. That's fine and dandy but it's not going to change a thing. I was once like you but now faced with crippling boredom and a dead server. I even live in Austin and believe very strongly in supporting local business. Seeing a local company fail so hard sucks.

  9. I agree with a lot of your stuff. Real shame that Bioware lost focus and can't seem to figure out what people want despite being told. There should be emergency server merges and every dev working on LFG tools... But no...

Anyways... To say Rift is any better is where I must disagree. They took that game all over the place into settling into a grind/farm model. All there is to do *period* in Rift is grind and farm on a scale rarely seen outside Korea.

Not to mention Trion's lackluster security... Thanks to them my email and old password are in the hands of hackers. To this day I still will get the odd email of a site I'd forgotten and an illegal login. Not to mention all the phishing emails. Hackers were already into my Facebook before Trion released the next day they'd been hacked and lost everyones email, pass, secret questions, and partial credit card info. Will never trust them again.

And YES it was Trion and not me visiting some illicit site. I have many levels of security and my Trion email was my super secret email... Ah well.

  10. If people consider that funny then I'm in the wrong business. That's like something I could come up with in 3rd grade.

Props for them helping kids and all. We all need something to keep our conscience at ease while making hefty sums of cash.

  11. Dude I'm almost 41 years old and have serious health problems that effect my eyes and nerves. Have to take Vicadin and other medications daily. Yet I can still finish the Space Missions, lol.

Without knowing the specific space mission can I give you specific advice. Most likely Taspan Ambush or equivilant... The key for the very end missions is using your EMP and non-target thingie at the correct times. Such as you use the non targetting thing when the heavy fighter first appears. You should get an idea when to use it when your health starts to drop like crazy. Just don't use it too early where it's on cooldown when you really need it.

Another tip I can add- On escort missions use your own ship to block enemy shots. The ship you're escorting is on rails so your only option is to take the hits for them. You can get hit endlessly on those missions and hardly lose any health.

  12. By your 3rd alt the boredom really starts to set in... You start to ask yourself am I playing an MMO or just watching a glorified short film in regards to class quests.

You play solo up to 50 and then are faced with reroll or raid if you want ANYTHING to do. They dropped the ball and the problems and issues are already upon the table. People shouldn't have to rehash the solutions every time they post. Every topic you have mentioned has been talked to death and if the devs don't get it by now they never will.

  13. Goes back to the illusion there's some sort of community on servers. Which makes little to no sense at all. What community? The some odd random people runing around fleet you never see again? Your guild? How does it affect your guild? It doesn't.

Some people think the LFG tool has mind controlling properties that make people lie, cheat, and steal. Turns you into a general d-bag they say, lol... Well I have news for you. If you run into a d-bag they were one all along and it isn't due to a LFG tool.

Mainly people are just ignorant. Going against the grain just so they can go against the grain and be different.

  14. They are just waiting because they have to present themselves to stockholders in early summer. Merging servers would make them look bad to the stockholders. It's for their benefit not ours... They could allow transfers today because the infrastructure is already there.

The right thing to do for the game and community RIGHT NOW would be to allow transfers... Chasing money and trying to make themselves look good will be their undoing.

  15. Well you played Rift and should plainly see SWTOR following a similar path. Just in a bit of a different order...

Rift catered to raiders from release to the 8th month mark. Lost their main audience- the casual. Then Trion is like woah we screwed the pooch here- lets go for the PVP crowd! Ruined class balance in PVE making some raids impossible (Hammerknell). Raids were stupidly overtuned from day one and the game can't handle 30 people in one spot without flaking out. World events went from an ambitious disaster to a mind numbing daily grind.

    Fast forward to SWTOR.

They cater to the PVP crowd and start tampering with class balance. *check*

Now they cater to the raiders with exclusive content. *check*

Completely forgetting their main paycheck and crowd the casual. *check*

They'll wake up eventually but it will be too late by then... Constant streaming content such as solo FP's for continued class story were the key. BW is all over the place like Rift- lost and losing focus and subs.

  16. Game companies live and die by their reputation. Honestly Bioware's rep isn't doing very well.

I still like them but truly they got in a bit over their heads with SWTOR. The MMO crowd are like a tank of ravenous sharks and BW went in slathered in fresh chum. The lure of $$$ leading to disaster. A story as old as civilization.
