  1. it would cost to have third party groups to produce this stuff, it would require Disney to sign off on star wars related stuff like this. and you'd know at some point people will be asking for 3D printed characters of their favorite in game characters with a solid base and a small gold nameplate with your characters name enscribed into it. (Nerdgasm approaching! )
  2. I recently read the Revan e-book on someone elses recommendation. So it is still fresh in my mind. Revan started out as a young jedi driven by his passion for justice and fairness, so when the Neo-crusader Mandalorians attacked the Republic as they were meant to by an emissary of the Sith when the ambitious but stupid Mandalore fell under the Sith's mind dominated spell. Revan and Malak stood out as examples of Jedi who didn't sit on the sidelines like a lot of the Jedi did at the time, the both of them plus other Jedi including Meetra Surik, they fought beside the Republic and pushed the Mandalorians back, eventually defeating them when Revan defeated Manadalore in personal combat. Revan took the helmet of Manadalore and hid it so there won't be another Mandalore to reuinte the clans. After the defeat of Manadalore and just before his death, Revan learned the truth, the Manadalorians were merely puppets and eventually found himself on Dromund Kaas with Malak when he learned that the emperor had planned the whole song and dance with the possibility of invading the republic with such strength as to crush it. Revan and Malak fought the emperor and lost almost immediately as soon as the fight started when Revan and Malak were mind dominated by the emperor, they weren't prepared for his attack. Ironically the Dark side is what broke the emperor's control over Revan for the most part, but when Malak attacked Revan and left him for dead, Bastila showed up, wiped his mind and established a force link with Revan. KOTOR happened. After KOTOR 1 and 2, Bastila and Revan remained together and she had a bun in the oven, however Revan never did get to see his son in person, only that he knew of his existence and primarily his motivating reason for failing to break after being captured by Darth Nyriss and Lord Scourge on Nathema and being sent to Dromund Kaas. Meetra worked with Scourge to break Revan out of Nyriss's place and managed it, after some rest, Revan confronted the emperor again and was more prepared to fight, he even pushed the emperor around a bit before he let his guard down and was knocked out of the fight. Scourge ultimately killed Meetra and feined loyalty to the emperor to see out his own vision for the emperor's fall, encouraged by Revan's teachings in the force. That is the extent of the story of Revan.
  3. You got lucky and it could of been a lot worse, i say that because the Bahamas got hit by a windy funnel yesterday and they lost everything out there and a lot of people lost their lives as well. Yes, the story is bad for a cut and paste story, however you survived and life goes on. I'm hesistant to state that the wildfire should not be used as an excuse for a return or why you left SWTOR because you are here and now, and that the wildfire as you pointed out was a while back so i don't see what that has to do with your return at this point. As far as SWTOR is concerned? Imperial agent storyline as the most intrigue and facets to it, it also has the most effect on choices you make as it branches out, outside the vanilla storyline, initial contact with Darth Marr at Makeb and into SoR as well. Sith warrior, Sith Inquisitor and Jedi Knight are the next best. BH, Smuggler and Trooper storylines are just average for the most part and the last on the list, the rather boring Jedi Consular class.
  4. I've never liked GC and if it were possible remove it i'd very much like to see it gone from SWTOR for good, a legacy of Ben Irving i never want to see of if it can be helped. I have a problem specific to him and no one else in Bioware. Since he is long gone now, it is fitting to move on from that and dump it. As far as Bioware apologising is concerned? i've seen it only a few times over the years but nothing recently, they did on occasion mention they screwed up at times and sought to correct the mistake. Hey i'm all for making mistakes, it is the only way you learn from something but even so tough love also drives someone to do better as well, but the difference between that and getting burned is thinner than you may expect. So asking them to "swallow their pride" ? you may as well be saying, "i want to force you to apologise on my say so because i can", it isn't remotely helpful.
  5. i doubt very much that was the intent. The individual storylines, voice actors, developers, storywriters and the like - all of it would of cost a lot of money, time and resources to do. Having one big storyline allows the game to keep going without a large chunk of resources and money used to do it with Charles Boyd and Ben Irving for a time as the leading front, of course Charles is still around but Ben was replaced with Bioware's own TIM; Keith Kanneg. While Makeb, Rishi, Yavin 4 and Ziost proved to be good for the game, FE proved to be disappointing and ET was an attempt to recover from that but it met a fairly positive ending. I wouldn't say it was a complete disaster though. but i don't believe Bioware have the resources to try 8 storylines any more and i suspect even 4 seperate storylines would be a bit much.
  6. your ryzen core isn't going to help you much, this game is 32 bit and relies heavily on single core speeds and at 3.7GHz that isn't the fastest by any means. your m.2 drive will be useful if you run SWTOR from that (make sure you got a cooler on that m.2 drive). Your 16GB ddr4 memory is more than enough, but i don't see any specs for a graphics card in all that; nothing intel or Nvidia or AMD.
  7. oh look another user not using the search feature to find new class threads. The poll is irrelivent and if you bothered to go read those threads you'd find a number of people explain why like they have here. I can't answer to either unless Bioware publicly state they are open to the idea.
  8. too early to say it is a success, it needs more time to be sure. a few months should be enough, if it keeps going at the rate it is, there won't be any doubts, but as others stated, there could be those looking at nostalgia and burn out after a few weeks or a few months, all depends on tolerance. so what we see now won't be the same in a few months.
  9. What point is that? the whole thread is misleading and doesn't have anything constructive about. so what point is it you are trying to make?
  10. By hating other haters that makes you a hater, cut the crap Zion. As far as a Eric Companion is concerned? we already have one, he is called Arcann. Anyone remember back to before FE launched and we saw pictures of Thexan and Arcann and then there was some leg pulling going on with Eric about how similar he looked to those characters?
  11. my sense is, if you haven't gone through the Operation beforehand and you only want the last boss, you shouldn't profit by not having the same wonderful experience others have. it is only fair that everyone should have the same experience and no one can skip to the final boss for the lock out and rewards. So i'm not in agreement with this petition one bit.
  12. even with a level 20 companion in heal stance, you can still die if the group you are pulling is large enough and has enough strong and champion level enemies in the mix, plus your companion has been temporarily cc'ed and ability disabled. don't fool yourself into thinking you are immune because you aren't even close. with that said, different strokes for different folks in the end, so removing healing stance will take away from those additional tactics you can use and i certainly won't deny myself the chance to switch over if one tactic isn't working where another can. you are on your own.
  13. The most obvious easy point to make, are you the op? can you read the OP's thoughts if you arent? When will the OP return to make his/her own case to confirm or deny? you can't answer any of those points before you start. Like it or not, you don't know what the OP was thinking. i have to take it at face value and leave it at that, just like everyone else until the OP elaborates, assuming the OP ever returns.
  14. I want Raina as an IA companion exclusively "blah blah blah" *with fingers in my ears* That is essentially the point you are making? then what is the point in this thread? the thread is there for others to debate your point regardless if you want to play ignorant or not. I can understand from a certain point about sith characters not getting Raina considering her history, her aptitued in the force, weak or not, she'd be found out immediately by a force sensitive sith reaching out with the force. but for jedi, troopers, hunters and so on, it don't really see the big deal.
  15. i've gone through Revan, it was mostly a snooze fest until about the last few chapters where it picks up. Despite some of the characters being in the book, they seemed mostly like throwaway characters like Nyriss and Sechel. Murtog was anonymous throughout the book. i'm gonna look into Deceived next, see what that is about.
  16. EA isn't Disney, so your example doesn't add anything. and yet people don't use the search function while they are bored to find these threads. Frankly i'm not interested in the excuses you can find to not do the obvious, but when there are already threads out there about the same subject, it doesn't need yet another thread about the same subject. Since you'll want me to prove my point with that stupid onus of proof nonsense, here: here is one from last week: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=967526&highlight=class another from one week and two days earlier: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=964179&highlight=class one from a few months ago: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=965615&highlight=class
  17. Never killed skadge before, but my most recent go through with a LS IA, he had skadge killed for the future threat he'd represent as a pirate leader and there ain't no way in the star wars galaxy he was going to shelter pirate crews like the black sun just to defeat Arcann and Vaylin with. Being little more than parasites on Nar Shaddaa after being forced out of Coruscant, so imagine how much of a fertile breeding ground Zakuul will be, to the likes no one there has never met such an organised undergorund element with such power. my IA wasn't going to let that happen. Strange the kill option is a dark side choice considering the long term damage Skadge and his gang could get up to if left to their own devices exploiting people, all of which are dark sdie choices. one big light side gain doesn't make up for the decades of torment the black sun could get up to on Zakuul. anyway, rambling aside.
  18. doesn't matter if it is an idea of how feeasable it is, the end result is the same: it isn't going to happen. Just to be clear before someone misinterprits my point of view (like it did yesterday on another thread): I'd like to see SWTOR go places nice as well.
  19. Got 141 total referrals over the last few years, only a few actively using the system. Not sure what the limit is, but i doubt it'll stop at 300.
  20. views are besides the point, Bioware doesn't have the resource to create a new class and i doubt EA will simply give them the time of day on the issue. So unless you are hiding a few million dollars that you'd wish to contribute to Bioware to get this new class going? otherwise, the closest we will get to a new class are new storylines like Onslaught.
  21. why are you asking when you already made your mind up beforehand? is there really any point responding? I'd like to think that there is a possiblity that you could give D2 or ESO a try and see what is what, but not if this is already a waste of time.
  22. Reporting issues has never been my strong point in any game where it is needed, so i don't know what use i'd be out in PTS which is why i'm not into it. Can't really say that it would be worth the effort. Still, i do agree as getting as many on as possible to cast as wider net as possible to catch as many issues as possible. The rest is on Bioware.
  23. Flashpoints before 5.0 took forever to get a group together by roles. without the role requirements it is much faster to get groups together. also because these flashpoints are generally easier now than before the level sync stuff, all that role stuff isn't needed any more. I'm not sure what your issue is, because flashpoints aren't much different from before, and it isn't like DPS will always dominate a round, sometimes you might get a tank or a healer ini the group and dps groups can clear through mobs like a hot knife through butter or homer simpson through an all you can eat buffet.
  24. Which books have the most relevance to SWTOR?
