  1. I already had Legacy of Unity and Legacy of Sacrifice from getting Light & Dark many years ago, so I didn't realize this. But a friend of mine chatting with me on Discord actually did this, while he was in chat with us. He then logged out and created a new character only to find that the option to make a Jedi Consular with the Sorcerer combat style had become available. So yes. You can simply purchase the ability to create new Dark Jedi/Light Sith with Cr250,000, as long as your Legacy level is at least 10.
  2. You can also just purchase "Legacy of Sacrifice" in the Legacy panel under GLOBAL UNLOCKS > OTHER > ALIGNMENT You do have to have a Legacy level of at least 10, and it costs Cr 250,000. Once you unlock that then you can go to the character creation screen and create a Republic Jedi/Consular and choose Sorcerer as your class.
  3. I recently tested this. While you can replace both the Sniper Rifle, and the Commando's stove pipe, with an ordinary blaster rifle, you'll lose roughly 5% DPS in both cases. Although, if you're just playing story content you'll probably never notice the difference.
  4. I keep reading the same thing, but I'm just not seeing it. Can someone please share some info that's a bit more informative than "you're doing it wrong"?
  5. When you use the heroic transports from the fleet it takes you to the planet, but often you arrive at the wrong spot.
  6. My wishlist vehicle is an actual speeder that my companions and/or part members can ride in as well. Kinda like the ones that we saw in the movies. You know, an actual vehicle.
  7. Ah... you beat me to it again CritasStorm. And yes, it was an excellent episode. Not only do they find nice things to say about SWTOR, but Gary also explains why they keep doing the show despite the many suggestions that they stop producing The Republic.
  8. I've watched every episode of The Republic, and listened to many of the podcasts that Justin hosts on the Darth Hater website. I think that Justin has just developed a habit of trying to not say anything that he thinks might be controversial, unless it's an actual topic of the show. While he obviously has no problem stating his opinion, good or bad, he seems to not want to create any unnecessary flames and trolling or distract people from the actual topic of the show. So I think that's why he kept avoiding saying any specific words. And yes, it did make him look kinda silly.
  9. The Republic episode 119: SWTOR State Of The Game This episode is a lot more positive and upbeat than the last couple of episodes as the guys at Gamebreaker go through the latest State of the Game address point by point. Amazingly, Gary is able to get through an entire episode of The Republic without mentioning Rift or SWG even once. Although he and Larry do talk about WoW and level 1 fantasy axes for a minute. TL;DR version: Gary thinks that adding SGR's is a waste of developer time. Larry reveals how many Cartel Coins the upcoming character server transfers will cost. And Justin surprises everyone with his desire to romance a certain droid.
  10. Really? How much did SOE pay Gary to say great things about Planetside 2? How much did Blizzard pay him to say great things about MOP? How much did ArenaNet pay him to say great things about Guild Wars 2? The answer to all of those questions is: Not A Dime. And yet he says great things about those games all the time. Why? Maybe it's because he just likes those games? Additionally, how many times has Gary said that he still likes SWTOR, that he doesn't want it to fail, that he just really hates its free-to-play model? If you actually watched the show then you'd know the answer to that question.
  11. I see this particular topic around the internet a lot. Something that a lot of my fellow Americans don't seem to realize is that the First Amendment applies only to the government. It prevents the government from arresting you simply because you state your opinion on a subject. It specifically does not apply to corporations or private individuals. For example: In my home state if you're in my house and you state an opinion that I don't like I'm legally allowed to throw you out of my house, and I'm legally authorized to use any means necessary up to and including the use of deadly force in order to compel you to leave my house. Simply because you stated an opinion. These forums are BioWare's 'house'. If they're tired of people constantly criticizing their game on their forums then you're just going to have to respect that. If you don't then at some point you'll likely be banned from their house, permanently.
  12. If you watched The Republic before SWTOR launched it had become quite the drinking game. "Gary said SWG again. Take a drink!" Although my belief isn't that he's so much a fan of SWG as he is a fan of sandbox game play. The ability to just live in the MMO world. Go where you want, decide for yourself which missions/activities you're going to do, build things that persist in the world that other players can see and interact with. People who say that Gary's always negative toward SWTOR have apparently only watched the last couple of episodes. Prior to 1.2, and even more so before launch, he was just flat excited about this game. That's changed over the last year because of the plethora of bad decisions by EA.
  13. Like it or not GamebreakerTV needs money to stay in business. Trion pays GamebreakerTV to advertise their product. On a completely separate note: Gary Gannon constantly talks about Rift Dimensions because he really really loves UGC/sandbox content. That's why he used to talk about SWG on The Republic all the time. Since you're watching GamebreakerTV shows for free you can't reasonably complain about seeing/hearing a 30 second ad, no matter what the product is.
  14. Bam! You beat me to it CritasStorm. The thing that bothers me is: if subscribers have to pay for new content now then what's the purpose of paying a subscription fee? Yeah, more character slots, etc. In other F2P MMOs I can play F2P and purchase more character slots or unlock other characters if I used to be subscribed. I guess it just comes down to: I don't feel that I get enough for my subscription fee to remain subscribed. And having to buy this DLC in addition to my subscription just drives the point home for me. YMMV
  15. You can take a good look at this repainted monstrosity here: Czerka Life Day Speeder So what do you think? Are those Christmas lights or Life Day lights? And would you really pay US$18 (or the equivalent in your country's currency) to have that for just one of your characters? If so then why?
  16. My favorite part is at 13 minutes and 55 seconds in when Gary finds out that the Christmas speeder costs $18. A bit after that, after about 20 seconds of a shocked look on his face, Gary Gannon says: "This is their monocle. This is the Eve monocle. But it's not... it's close, but it's not gonna get the press like the monocle did. Eighteen dollars!? For this joke? This should be given away. This should be given away to every player for free. In the game to just race around. We're going to get to it in a second, they're not even having a freaking holiday event. They're charging for Christmas items and they're not even putting on any kind of an event, yet they wanna charge eighteen dollars for this hunk 'o crap? You have to be kidding me. You have to be kidding me."
  17. In episode 117 of The Republic, Gary Gannon says that SWTOR is "out of control." Referring to the pay-to-win space gear and the reskinned $18 Christmas speeder. The Republic 117: Out of Control Interestingly enough, according to this article on Massively, SWTOR is the only AAA western MMO that isn't having a Christmas event. So what do you think? Are the GamebreakerTV guys off the mark? Do you feel the same way they do? Please note: I am not in anyway affiliated with either GamebreakerTV or Massively. I just wanted to bring this info to the community's attention.
  18. Yeah, it's pretty pathetic when even the Star Trek Online dev team can create a Christmas holiday event, but BioWare with their giant dev team on their $200 Million machine that EA suits claimed was "gunning for WoW" can't even manage to come up with a Christmas event. No content updates, no more events, nothing but the same old reskinned junk added to the cash shop and passed off as their "six week update." I've been waiting for new content to keep me interested in TOR, but now I think it's time I joined the 1 million plus people who've already stopped subscribing to this game.
  19. I agree completely. However, those guys who had passion for the game are the ones responsible for SWTOR losing over 1 million subscribers during the first 6 months after launch because they refused to listen to people who tried to tell them what was wrong with their faux MMO. At least the current dev team seems to understand that they need to listen to the subscribers and give them what they want. It's just unfortunate that their current rate of updates makes it appear that they've been cut down to a skeleton crew who'll be unable to put out content updates in a reasonable time frame. Like you I'm still enjoying the game, but it lacks sandbox content and replayability. So in a few months, once I've gotten a few more characters to 50 and seen all the stories, I'll allow my sub to expire and I probably won't come back. Basically what the majority did 9 months ago. It just took me a little longer to get there. As for the people complaining about the free fireworks... well, that's just typical of the 'ME' generation. Those people feel the world owes them something just cause they were born. Eventually they'll grow up and then they'll be in for a heck of a surprise.
  20. Dear BioWare, I could see that executive producer Jeff Hickman was nervous about being in front of the camera, and that he tried to cover it up by laughing a lot, but it made him appear to be kind of a jerk. I'm not saying that he is, and I'm sure it wasn't intended, but that's how it appeared. Let me explain by way of example: Let's say that you've been paying for a service for almost a year now and you've seen almost none of the additions and/or improvements to that service that you were promised months ago. You call customer service to complain. Upon explaining the problem that you have with the first thing the customer service rep does is laugh. "Oh, you're unhappy about Illum? Ha ha ha ha ha." If you were already upset about the situation wouldn't the rep laughing at your question only upset you even further? As someone who's dealt with many clients and customers over the years I can tell you that many people will get upset if you laugh in response to their complaints and/or questions. Like I said, I'm sure that Mr. Hickman didn't mean it that way, but that's the reaction that it's going to cause in at least some people. So there's your free advice from random internet person. Take it for what you will.
  21. Will better class balance be coming with Ancient Hypergates? How some work on reducing the time spent stunned in PvP?
  22. So the "account wide" unlocks are only Legacy wide for a specific server? Or just some of them? Has anyone bought the Speeder Piloting I unlock from the Cartel Store? Is it just for one Legacy on one server, or does it apply to all Legacies on all servers?
  23. On the latest episode of GamebreakerTV's SWTOR podcast The Republic, they talked about SWTOR's F2P model and they reviewed the latest F2P 'trailer.' It's both entertaining and informative, especially when they start laughing at the latest F2P trailer. The Republic episode 113: Tap Dat Axe
  24. 1) I'd like to see companions move out of the AoE target marker on the ground, or a least move out of the fire once it hits. 2) I'd like companions to follow more like a person instead of whipping around me like they're on a rubber-band leash. 3) Stop standing on: resources that I'm trying to click on, mobs that have loot that I'm trying to pick up, and furniture.
  25. I was on a team with a friend playing a Sith Warrior this weekend. We did his class mission on Tatooine where he confronts Master Yonloch. Master Yonloch did his Jedi trick and caused Malavai Quinn to fall asleep. After the cut scene was over, during the fight, I saw Quinn lying on the ground with the same "Missing Granny" graphic on his torso. I was waiting until the fight was over to take a screenshot, but when the fight ended Quinn disappeared. So unfortunately I didn't get a screenshot of it. So, has anyone seen this in other missions?
