  1. I'm a pretty active roleplayer and I'm just dying for the game to have chat bubbles. They're one of those small things we really need right now. Not to mention the ability to sit in chairs (it was possible in Galaxies).
  2. Maybe a month ago I was still relatively excited with all the content on TOR because I'm not much of an endgame player, and enjoy creating new characters and playing through the storylines. Now I think it's all pretty bland and boring -- there's been many times when I'd just log into the game, choose a character I want to do a nice evening marathon of PvP and immerse myself in other content. Then I'd just log out, because I realize how low-grade and lacking this game really is, at least right now. It's so obvious people in the community want more endgame, social and other content. What do the devs do? Plan to release a new playable species in hopes of it encouraging players to create new Cathar characters. Why not include Trandoshans, Togruta, Sullustans, Rodians and all the other species we all love -- in one bundle? Maybe I'm impatient or being juvenile. It's just so dismaying to see this highly anticipated game dry up in a matter of a few months after its release. I don't think Bioware was fully prepared with a backup plan or anything to answer the simple demands players are making now. You know, it really brings out the desperation of the development teams with the current climate. They think adding one new playable species will compensate, at least for a short period, the real needs of the players.
  3. I think a lot of the things people are saying here aren't entirely unjustified, seeing as many things the players were anticipating and excited for were left out in the launch, nor have they been included in the recent patches. It's become more and more obvious that a good portion of the player base are becoming increasingly disappointed with the lack of endgame content and a ton of other things, and the development teams are in a flux because they weren't prepared for it. I mean, you have to at least have some kind of back-up plan if it backfires -- they didn't, and now they're seeing the effects in rampant unsubbing and complaints. There's even been talks of making this game free-to-play, which goes on to show TOR wasn't the big hit everyone thought it was after all.
  4. I'm most active on roleplaying servers, and I totally support this. The idea that I can't change my legacy name sounds a bit clunky to me -- what's the harm in changing it to the way you like from time to time?
  5. I totally support this idea. I see no point in jumping from one character to another with the amount of SPs gathered limited to one character only.
  6. Don't get me wrong. I love scoring social points, be it doing quick flashpoint runs or otherwise. I love the social gear I've been able to get my hands on at a certain level, but there's also a somewhat annoying catch to that. The fact that I have to collect social points for different characters separately is a bit puzzling for me. I think Bioware should make it so that your entire legacy has a common social points achievement bar -- that would mean you no longer have to jump from one account to another to score social points just to get your hands on some gear that you're itching for on just one character. Input. Thoughts.
  7. I've ordered and played this game since late December when it was released, and the only classes I have played so far are the Imperial Agent and the Sith Warrior. A few days ago I decided to give the Jedi Knight a shot and rolled him up to level twenty-five, and noticed they have a wide access to simple robes and cloaks that come in every variety (light, medium, heavy) and colour, whereas the Sith-based classes rarely if ever get the equivalent (save for the Inquisitor -- even then, the robes are filled with tech-accessories and boring hieroglyphs). My question is: wouldn't everyone else want access to the simple Jedi robes/cloaks on Sith-based classes right now?
  8. Sith who utilize the dark side wholeheartedly and follow their passions and quest for power in complete and utter blindness are evil. They lack the ability to feel love, empathy or compassion, going closer and closer to the void of their own demise. Traditional Sith teachings are based on these exact same principles. There are 'unorthodox' Sith who have the ability to keep a head in a crisis and think rationally, not always resorting to brute force and violence. Sometimes they give their enemies mercy, and are not overly drastic when it comes to unleashing the full magnitude of their dark side powers. They are people who still exhibit a certain connection to the light side, but are not necessarily willing to defect to Jedi or the Republic.
  9. Although I disdain Sith teachings and philosophy, I find the Empire to be more attractive because they acknowledge the Human species as something truly innovative, passionate and intellectually superior than animals or other, less intelligent beings. There is lawful order that is not overly drastic, and leaves room for creativity and individuality. Imperials and Sith alike embrace the arts like opera as a beauty, and sculptures and statues as a way to express the grandeur of their society. Cyborgs and transhumanism is generally frowned upon, coupled with the enforcing of humanocentric policies (though not every Sith seems to follow this tenet). You don't have gnawing politicians arguing about petty grievances in a senate -- these ranks are filled with men of action, courage and decency. And then there's the British accent. Beats American any day. It's more elegant.
  10. I've got most of the necessary pieces of the grey Imperial officer uniform, but I'm missing the bracers and the belt. If anybody knows where to acquire them, please post here. http://www.torhead.com/item/cE8QGIr/imperial-coordination-prototype-bracers http://www.torhead.com/item/fEeM4b2/imperial-coordination-prototype-belt
  11. 'Pure blooded' Sith are considered equal, if not above, baseline Humanity in the Sith Empire as a whole. These two species pile up the intellegentsia and top echelons of Imperial society, especially in the past. Their xenophobic attitude towards aliens is in part due to the fact of Humans and Sith being the only species to lay the foundation for the Reconstituted Sith Empire -- all other species are considered secondary.
  12. Bureau Director Olis Edaara, Ministry of Intelligence. (RP).
  13. -Did you bother with the romance options at all? Who, and why? I'm completely apathetic when it comes to 'romance' in SWTOR. I've never chosen a romance option on any of my three characters (Agent, Trooper, Warrior). -Did you avoid the romance options? Why? Well, my Imperial agent is very humanocentric, so it'd be an abomination to engage in a romantic relationship with someone like Kaliyo, who is a Rattataki. Besides, she isn't even attractive. -Did you wish you could romance somebody (any NPC or companion) but were unable? No.
  14. Tier IV in dark side points looks very non-canonical in terms to other Star Wars content released in the past, where most Sith had eyes of sulfuric yellow. Personally, I can't recall any character in the Star Wars universe immersed in the dark side as having glowing red eyes -- not even Palpatine, who's pretty much the equivalent of the devil.
  15. Canonically, the Sith Empire is an institution of humanocentric chauvinism. I don't know if Bioware did that on purpose, whether their male staff is misogynistic, whether that was inspired by similar policies practiced by the Galactic Empire in the original movies or something else.
  16. Humanocentric chauvinism, slave trade and racial purity are everyday norms in the Sith Empire, just like they are in Emperor Palpatine's Galactic Empire 3,600 years later. Electrocuting Vette when she wears her slave collar is just plain wrong in my opinion though, you just feel like a mentally unstable coward if you play a male character. Other than that, I see little faults in the portrayal of the Empire in general. Even if some people abhor their policies, they still have the ability to make a choice. Exactly. Star Wars: The Old Republic is more or less directed at a slightly older audience than World of Warcraft and some other MMOs out there. It's up to the parents completely whether they want their child to play the game or not.
  17. Although I've always been a Republic enthusiast, I admit the majority of the stories weren't that good as I and many others had hoped. Quotes of the Jedi Knights are so cheesy, it's almost always something like "These criminals will not stand a chance against a Jedi of the Republic". Totally absurd. The only story chain I have really liked so far is that of Sith Warrior, though there are minor faults in it, too.
  18. I think you've misunderstood some of the things they say in the Jedi code completely. "There is no emotion, there is peace" tries to alert aspiring Jedi of the dangers of overwhelming emotions that one can hardly control like fear, anger and rage. Compassion is a vital trait that every Jedi is required to have. To claim they are without emotion is ludicrous.
  19. Avenge the defeat suffered at the end of the Great Hyperspace War and achieve galactic domination. As for the Emperor, he wants to achieve "ascendance."
  20. I'm a level 32 Imperial Agent (Sniper) and looking for parts that would complete the gray/black Imperial officer look, primarily for roleplay purposes. I look everywhere (Torhead, Darth Hater, Torspy and so on) and they all say are a reward from this quest on Balmorra called 'A Question of Motivation.' I've completed it a couple of times a few days ago, but the only rewards that appear are commendations and an item roll box. Anyone care to explain?
  21. The Chiss and Rattataki are the offspring of early Human colonies, where the population became increasingly adapted to the local elements. I remember reading that the Chiss, who evolved from baseline Humanity, acquired their blue skin and distinct red eyes from something in the atmosphere of Csilla, and after thousands of years it stuck. I think it's a similar case with the Miraluka, who discovered a way to see with the Force rather than the physical realm largely due to the absence of a sun on their home planet. As for the Twi'lek and Mirialan species, I'm not quite sure. Other ones that might be offshoots of humanity are the Kiffar, Nagai, Tofs, Zelosians, Arkanians and so on.
