  1. Well the ops issue is actually a loading screen issue. When a player logs onto a character the game registers it straight away but your UI won't update until there loading screen has pretty much finished(when the other player starts to hear background noises) most people get the same thing but just don't realise
  2. Force armour/static shield used to give Prot points in beta(and I think for a bit after launch) but healers got sooooo much medals for it that they changed it to a heal. It wasn't fair for healers to get 4 medals for prot 4 medals for heals 4-5 medals for damage and 3-4 medals for defence and offence each. So they changed it
  3. lets see 1st question i can't answer easily however i can say that once you hit 50 and start doing dailies the credits will start rolling in. you can make a minimum of 250k/day just by doing dailies at 50... now about skill trees. basically depending on your role (dps in your case i guess) you want to choose one main skill tree depending on your playstyle but you will generally expand slightly into the other skill trees http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#101ZcRrRruddhRZGM.2 Thats a quick build i made(not great with juggers so someone check that for me) which will hopefully maximise your dps. now as for health. when soloing use you healing companion(if you have one at your level) and you should dish out enough dps to kill mobs before you die(remember to use saber ward) so for mods/armorings you want things which give +strength and +endurance. and critical chance for enhancements go +endurance and +critical chance.
  4. Great back on this debate again... Bioware is an american/canadian company they will do the maintence in a time which minimizes down time in their time zone. you have to remember we're on a 24 hour globe... if one area is off-peak another is in peak times. The world dosn't revolve around us europeans
  5. Okay so quoting on phone is not working for me. So to the person who mentioned the endar spire being an oversight How?? The endar spire crashed into taris after all of the escape pods which revan/bastilla and carry escaped on hit the planet. And to the person who mentioned the swoop track/general hospital ECT. The swoop track is the one where revan wins a swoop race to 'save' bastilla from the swoop gang. You can tell by the name of it. That's the name of the gang which your racing fors leader. The hospital would have went down into the lower level and possibly even as far as the underworld. Most of the buildings went a few levels down it makes sense for 3 levels of the hospital to be on the lower levels... Didn't meen to say they were accessible. Now on topic.. Taris used to be a lush blue oceon world with a massive city. Therefor being a city-planet with vast oceans. The oceans eventually got radiated and this caused mass food shortages. So there's the blue. The buildings were mainly white but there were alot of synthetic natural areas. So that accounts for blue and green. When the city was destroyed the white buildings would have crumpled and compacted into the underworld this would make most of the planet look white but due to the vegetation and past oceans it comes out cyan-white
  6. I tend to help out anyone that asks if I have time. Intact yesterday I actually ran a lvl 14 from one side of taris back to space dock because for some reason he was there solo early and couldn't get back without dying loads...still trying to figure out how he got his ship at lvl 13 but ahh well. However I will agree. People tend to be a bit single minded, but its what your going to get in a mmo. I do advise finding a nice guild aswell and a lvling one is usually better if you have lots of questions as there more likely to have lots of lower lvls
  7. TBH quite often if i join a guild which has a player as described i will go out of my way to make him try and get with me just for the heck of it... you know the whole always using smileys ect (what younguns seem to expect females to do never understood it myself) and then eventually i will go on skype or ts or something and be like yea man im a dude, you've just done all sorts of **** for me in game and now you found out im a dude how does that make you feel... They soon learn there lesson :L
  8. haha i still use the black-yellow crystals at lvl 10 and use it again at 50. it does make it look like a training blade admittedly but at least you can see a massive difference in black-yellow as compared to cyan-blue :L
  9. Well i've been here since the start but didn't get founder because couldn't afford the subscribtion at the time. actually started playing again in June 2012. I was in 3rd day early entry. was also in alpha and 2 beta's
  10. The work around is to join a guild make friends with a subscriber who you can definatley trust then give him credits from multiple 'bank' chars and he buys the items for you.. Much easier to just sub but not everyone can afford that so i think they should make an unlock availiable but maybe make it ridiculously expensive so like say 1600CC thats like only 2 months sub so it isn't to overpriced but then again i still think they should keep it capped maybe just raise it slightly Or maybe put an unlock on CC that is like say 400CC for an extra 100k like there doing with character slots
  11. IT'S A CONSPIRACY!!!!!! now wheres christopher robin with my spice??
  12. Well i never look at the facebook page. infact i don't use facebook all that often except to talk to a few friends and family every now and again. But the internet is full of trolls and kid's who think it makes them look cool mouthing each other on social websites. Welcome to the internet. Heres a picture of a cat riding a unicorn which has fire coming from its nose and the cat is holding a blaster pistol and theres a rainbow in the background..... and this is the normal stuff o and it also has minecraft land in the background. IT HAZ EVERYTHING!!!!! (including a nyan cat, glowing red eyes and a mario pipe) Welcome to the internet
  13. TBH the game is rated at T for teen but the T&C's are not acceptable by anyone under 16 (although no-one knows that). And i must say that most 13 year olds these days more than likely know more 'frowned upon' language than you and I put together. And also if parents allow there children to play an mmo which is basically guaranteed to have people speaking bad language in the general chat. (and don't say profanity filter because there easily bypassable). The other thing is that on facebook you must also be atleast 13 to sign up (legally) and again 13 year olds more than likely hear more colourful language in schools than anyone older ever did. O and also moderating hundreds of comments on facebook is pretty much non-feasible I apologize for scrutinizing your opinion but i have given you an honest reason to why that isn't feasible or unnecessary
  14. since when has 12-4 been prime time in well any country???? even one a Wednesday in France who finish at noon on a wednesday its still not prime time. i finish college at midday on a Wednesday and if i do come on (which isn't often) its always pretty much dead. people don't start coming on until about 3:30-4.. btw im U.K so im going by GMT
  15. okay it dosn't matter what time they do maintenence. someone somewhere will be affected. Remember we have a +- 12 hour difference to everyone else in the world. therefore because bioware is an american canadian company they will do the maintenance during there off-shift times. Not during there peak times Think logically people
  16. Done it. gets pretty boring. i tend to do 10-28 purely on wz's anyway but it takes a loong time. then i just rush the class quests up until i've finished 4th planet (not counting starter) then back to wz's till 34 rush 5th planet and you get the idea i basically do WZ to 28 and then wz to max advised level for planet +2 takes a while but pve bores me
  17. Kind of like the OP's suggestion but my idea is An invunerability skill however it also imobilises the target so they can't do anything but they also can't be damaged. would say last 10s and usable on enemy's and friendlies. It's more of a PvP skill than anything really would allow say if it was 2 vs 2 and your team mate was about to die but so was one of there team you could immobilize your team mate giving them a little extra time to survive and you can finish of who evers attacking him. Or if say someone who was obviously going to kill you easily attacked you. you could immobilze them and run away. Could also be used in PvE as a last resort if you was about to die. This wold be removable by cc break obviously. and friendlies could remove it by right clicking it like a buff to stop griefing people with it
  18. First Space isn't a complete vacuum its just the closest natural approximation to one. Therefor Sound does travel in space. Okay so now that the second comment is done On to the main question why does your ship go on fire Theres a few explanations for this one: I'm going to use some examples from earth which may help explain this a bit. So first when a plane is flying they use a atmospheric life support system (very basic type as there is still oxygen at that height so not as advanced as say the one on ISS). However when theres a breach in the plane such as a window is smashed or someone opens a door the oxygen from the plane escapes into the outer atmosphere until the atmospheric pressure and gas levels are equal i.e. in equillibrium. Therefor by any estimations the atmosphere of a 'spaceship' flying in deep space would leak out of the ship in the event of a hull breach. However in this case once the breach had been locked down the fire should theorettically go out. So that dosn't explain why the fire keeps going. So onto why the fire stays alight. This could be down to a few factors. First off is that the energy beam fired from the cannons could be a super heated metal which is flammable like lithium but harder(lithium is a soft metal which reacts with water and burns) Or the energy beam which would more than likely be a super heated element or compound which has therefore turned to plasma as the electrons have gained enough energy to be stripped away from the elements. (this is what happens in a star) And when it hits the metal that the spaceships are created from react with whatever compound they use. This would cause a prolonged fire which would only be put out by a certain fire extinguisher(depending on the chemical reaction)... Now obviously all of this is speculation as star wars is fictional and we don't have a spaceship but you get the idea
  19. Dude it hasn't been said that the event is tied in directly with the reputation system :/ the reputation system is just being implemented in the same patch, read what you are given and learn to understand the finer points before calling out other people on what they think is happening. Your entitled to your opinion and everyone else is entitled to theres. Alot of people think its going to be a PvE event with auto flagged fro PvP because of where its situated whereas some people(including me) think it will be a PvP event mainly because of where it is situated in the game
  20. Why buy a mac??? in my opinion it goes linux->windows->mac and btw apples first graphical OS was stolen from xerox, then microsoft stole apples upgraded version. but linux is still the best OS and you can run most things on wine nowadays. However have a look at this. its old but might help http://torwars.com/2011/11/21/mac-users-how-to-play-swtor-using-boot-camp/
  21. i did say planet/server meaning the PvE player could be on ilum or in outlaws den ect. or they could have been new to mmo's chose a PvP server without realizing and then just stuck with it but as a mainly PvE player. And i understand that most of the issues are coming from PvE players which is why i said originally that it would be great if this was purely orientated towards PvP players and maybe the odd PvE'er who wants to try some PvP but judging by the big boss in the middle of the ship im guessing it won't be which means the chances are there will be alot of PvE'ers there. who for obvious reasons are not very good at PvP and therefor will be killed easily by PvP players. I know alot of PvP'ers who do not actually like killing PvE'ers purely for the reason that they don't fight back and theres no challenge in that so many of us will kill them once and if they don't fight back leave them and kill some other person. However The other person said that that logic is idiotic which i don't understand because for all i know there is no way for a player of the opposite faction to tell if someone is PvE or PvP orientated without attacking them. Also as PvE'ers get killed on a PvP planet you will get the odd few who will come on the forums and complain thus marking PvPers as gankers and then the arguments begin. (the complainers always seem to be more active on forums)
  22. first off Alienware went crap and overpriced when it got brought out by dell (they used to handmake everything and it was awsome and worth the price). 2nd. I'm running an AMD A10-5800k overclocked to 4.2Ghz(no turbo) with a ATI Radeon HD 7970. Game runs fine on max settings for me. Runs on medium-high on my laptop which is an AMD A8 1,9Ghz turbo to 2.4 quad core I run mine at 1366x768 on my computer and laptop(no hd screen so no point in 1080 )
  23. speed hacking is basically when you change a client side variable which affects the speed of you character. if you put it high enough you can basically teleport. Some games do have it server sided though which makes it harder to change(this game dosn't) you have to use a packet injector then which is ilegal and easily traced. BTW do not hack, im not going to say how to do it because cheating is bad.. o P.S its not a speed hack its just a cheat really. most people who use this probably don't know the first thing about hacking and those that do are more than likely crackers not hackers... Theres a BIG difference
  24. Explain to me why that logic is idiotic. Please tell me a way to find out whether someone is a PvE player or PvP player by simply targeting them, Enlighten me I beg you. Explain how you as a PvP player on a PvP planet/server would go about splitting the PvE players from the PvP players. Maybe you could have a nice hearty chat over a cup of tea and biscuits. Or maybe send them a questionairre.
