  1. For the people unsubbing, log out now. You cannot log back in and post. However, for some reason you can not log out and continue posting.
  2. Nope sandbox is dead. Has been dead since wow turned into a coop game with a glorified city-lobby Still will be dead for the next few years.
  3. Will make or break this game for the years to come. If Bioware is able to somehow fix the bugs from 1.1 within the next day, and the mass exodus is actually overblown, then I am resubbing. Checking server status tomorrow. If at peak there are more light servers than medium + heavy, then Im giving up on this genre as a whole. Tonight is the most critical night of the game's life. I hope BW understood this coming in.
  4. is this serious? Like rpg, or full blown mmorpg?
  5. Have fun with the other 9 people that still play that game
  6. runescape is still alive and kicking. Its still more profitable than most of the mmos out there.
  7. Transformers mmo being developed. Im going to wait eagerly for the 3+ years it will take to be made. Read every single beta news before I buy a collector's copy. Then I will play it cause it will be the best thing in the whole wide world, It has to be, its going to have a huge budget behind it.
  8. No its not massive. Only a low number of players can be in a single area at a time. It will be one of those games that causes a bit stirring for a week. Then drops off the face of the earth, like every other single player game, skyrim is an exception. To each his own. Im leaving Tor for actual personal reasons, and not reasons of grandeur and childish complaints
  9. No they do not. Not in the least bit.
  10. In all honestly. There is no better mmo on the market, but to each his own. Its a problem with the genre as a whole. And wow is terrible. Its been reduced to a single gear grind with progression based on a single raid filled with few bosses, which they will expect us to raid at different difficulties, only separated by bigger numbers, for 6+ months. AOC has gotten better, but still not as engaging. Aion has gotten better, but still cannot justify the small NA + EU presence it has Rift is basically the only game left with actual raiding that is not a joke.
  11. If it had been designed with a B2P payment method in mind.
  12. I leveled my sith warrior, 30-49 with only space battles and class quests. Its easy and better than most grinds, its up to the person really. I did it casually every day for a month, doing about 10 space battles a day with level appreciate quests and dailies. I then straight pvped 49-50 for commendations and gear for 50
  13. So what game will you play now. Not acting like a troll, I really want to know some alternatives
  14. Calling a person a fanboy because he defends the game he is playing is not constructive in the least bit. It makes you look like an idiot, similar to the 5th grade children coming up with comebacks such as "I know you are, but what am I." Arguing about which video game is better is stupid. In essence, all games are wastes of time. It boggles my mind that a person can honestly believe that his waste of time is better than another person's waste of time. Rant over. Bye forum. Bye community.
  15. Wait, you actually think an auto attack makes you heroic? So when you played a mage/warlock/priest in wow, did you not feel heroic? I remember raiding Naxx in wotlk. It was fun when I could auto attack patchwerk with guildies and go and make a sandwich And the 1.5 seconds is for player latency. But I agree that 1 would be better.
  16. I remember my night elf hunter back in 05. I took the flight path to winterspring from w.e that starter area was called. It dismounted me on one of the mountains on the border of winterspring, which i fell inwards into an unfinished zone, Hyjal at the time. I was banned for two weeks for "exploitation" because I found a way into an area that was restricted. Now that is hard core. Taking the taxi and being barred from the game for 14 days. The only reason I kept playing was cause blizzard saw that they were idiots and gave me 3 months of free play time after the incident.
  17. Ah yes. Guild Wars 2. The herald of a new generation of MMO gaming I presume. I wish it the best, but it will most likely not capture the hearts of the people in the market as a whole, mmos survive using skinner box like techniques, and although it will most likely end up as the best designed game in the genre, it will not have enough of those "unlockables" that people love and are addicted to so much. Of course I could be wrong. And the third link interests me the most. I not only do not know what this is, but the link is broken and I was forced to google it. Intended or not that was sneaky
  18. It does not have a world anymore. The last time I went out of org on any of my characters was almost a year ago. Achievement hunting is just another grind, some people enjoy it, alot of people dont bother. And why spend time arguing about video games? Its all pointless and stupid. One man's waste of time cannot be justifiably better than other man's waste of time.
  19. Yes, but what ideas can they honestly implement in a game that has not been tried before? I see no AAA mmos being released on the horizon anytime soon. Innovative combat - Tried with AOC, didnt work out Realm vs Realm, Massive pvp - Tried with WAR, didnt work out Dynamic events - Tried with Rift, didnt work out. Each one of these games were criticized for what innovations they brought to the genre. Aion, last I heard had close to 4 millions subs, I never really looked into that game.
  20. But thats the thing. People say they want change, but when they get it, they are disgusted. Ive seen it happen too many times. It may seem Bioware took the easy route with Swtor, but in my mind, they did the most sensible thing, and took a note from the past mmos in the last few years. People hate change, thats why this genre as a whole is stale. I think this is most likely due to things such as the holy trinity and a basic static world. I feel if a game can incorporate a way to remove individual group roles from specific classes within a game and create a constantly changing world, that would be the game to refresh the genre as a whole.
  21. Its a positive review. The game is fun, but I think Wow did the entire genre an injustice by ushering in an influx of players who have been spoiled through years of instant gratification. And games which try to deviate from the market norm, such as the innovation Rift had, is ridiculed, yet people complain when games set to copy WoW. Theres no point in the genre atm. Its losing players as a whole, and for a good reason.
  22. If this game does not have 6 billions subs by this time tomorrow. It failed.
  23. I gave the game a fair shot, and I can honestly say this game, even with some of its flaws, is the most engaging mmorpg on the market for me, however, I am tired of the entire genre as a whole, and swtor made me realize this. But the game is growing. I saw 100k more facebook likes added to swtor over the past 2 days, servers are getting more full than ever and the haters really need to find something more productive. If the upcoming games in 2012 start to disappoint, then I will be back in a heartbeat. I think I will miss this fourm most of all, the hours of entertainment arguing with people. It boggles my mind how a person can assume that their hobby or game, their waste of time, is worth more than another man's waste of time, when in essence, games are games, and it is pointless and downright stupid to argue over another person's opinions and preferences. I wish everyone the best of luck. For now, I am done with MMOs, perhaps dabble in some F2P ones casually, but nothing serious anymore. I wish everyone the best of luck and I hope the fourms are rid of most of the trolls by this time tomorrow. My sub expires in 2 hours. Toodles.
