Off the top of my head a suit full of the vendor mods is a grand total of 48 crystals, hardly worth worrying about if you're doing rishi-ziost as just landing on rishi nets you 297 crystals from the boxes, and it's not like they don't then throw common crystals at you from every angle.

If by some lunacy you actually think getting 1-15 it too grindy then you've got to have been grinding on mobs alone (no quests) or somesuch nonsense, hell proper planetary story arc's don't kick in til Taris/Balmorra and with current rates of XP you'll have barely got off the starting planet. My FE trooper's just arrived on Hoth at lvl 45. she was lvl 19 when she first set foot on fleet and she didn't even touch a planetary arc til Tat. How you're not higher if you got to the capital world is beyond me.

Well I can't say I didn't expect the answer Eric gave, I'm not entirely happy about it - 27 chars that're gonna have to PvP to get progress? Not entirely up for that... Yes it's my choice to have that many chars, and yes I did it to see the stories - this isn't story it's a painful version of of a "go kill/collect x number of y McGuffins" Options 1. Turn the Pierce/4x into an either/or for PvE/PvP and the same with other future companions you're thinking of doing it with. 2. Make Valour legacy based so it only needs to be ground out once. 3. Ensure all companions have a VERY CLEARLY LABELLED reject option in the initiating conversation. (unlike that infernal flirt option in the cantina - can we get that changed as well?) 4. Reduce the amount of matches needed for the Pierce/4X missions 5. Allow GSF matches to count on the Pierce/4X 6. A mix of or all of the above.

Original Main's still going strong, 65 without starting FE as I've been grinding heroics for supply crates, apart from him, out of the other 27 chars I've only re-rolled a couple - usually by the end of the capital planet and mostly just because I wasn't 100% sure about their look or I had a new concept for them come to mind. Must confess I'm finding it hard to get into the couple of fresh 60's I've got - feels like I don't know them where as everyone else who's done the long way round worked out full personalities and back stories for.

Brand new lvl 1 trooper after 4.0 dropped, I've not done anything extra otther than 1 Fondor escort, a solo esselles run and the introduction to PvP missions (around lvl 16). I've not touched the planet main lines until tatooine, not run any heroics. Last night she just finished up the okara droid factory section of balmorra.. and is Level 42. 3 class xp boxes have been bought and xp boosts used after Nar Shadaa How anyone can finish Corellia under level 51 I don't know. As other posters have said Ilum's not just the "additional" something to do that it once was when the game opened, it's part of the linear story now in the same way as going from Coruscant to Taris to Nar Shadaa is. Hell if you'd spent the time running Ilum instead of QQing about it, you'd probably be past it anyways, it's a ridiculously short line for both sides either way.

This is probably a daft question, but considering the amount of effort this is going to take on my 28 characters I thought I'd better check... As far as we know is unlocking the heroics, upgrading the base on Odessen and recruiting all the companions going to be mandatory at any point? say in chapter 15 it comes to a point where "you must have a rank 5 Base and Hemdil Tre at influence rank 25"? to continue? What do we reckon?

28 alts, 4 are 65 but only one's done FE the rest are 60 apart from a lvl 29. Pros - I've seen every class story from light/dark, male and female - I've seen every romance story - I know the geography of the planets (up to Rishi) backwards. - I'm self sufficient in terms of crafting and credits - I've created a fantastic spreadsheet that tracks every character in terms of level, gear, comp affection (that bit needs updating the more I do FE) what their driving, alignment, what content they've completed, what comms they've got, what's in their bank tabs and so on. - By the time I get round to starting new content it's usually had most of the glaring bugs fixed (see first con) - Maxed content based reps without trying too hard. Cons - Keeping up to date with content is a lengthy process, I'm still finishing rishi-ziost runs on a few toons. - Keeping them all appropriately geared can take time and a small fortune. - The spreadsheet needs updating, it's one reason why I'm glad they said 2016 for Chapter X. I might just be caught up by then.. - If you mistakenly put an item into a character bank instead of Legacy Storage without realising it......

Put it this way, Last night I finished up to the end of Port Raga on my new trooper, apart from class story I've only done a solo mode Esseles and the introduction to WZs (and the two wz's attatched to it).... no side missions on anything. All of that was with an xp boost, but none of the char perks What level am I now? 29......

I'm not one to post angry but the below got me more than a little riled up. Reason being I tested tested putting a heavy chest on Mako (switched it off'f my main for 2 seconds) and found that it worked so I went ahead and bought a couple of straight to 60 slots as it opened up the looks I wanted to go for on new characters. I got these characters up and running then went off on my jolly way to run Black Out on Taris for the gear I wanted to put the companions in.... Low and behold the mission reward has changed. Went to check the planetary equipment vendor - none existent, checked fleet, same story... came on the forums and discovered what happened. Edited in my comments... Bottom line Eric.... It's just not cricket

Like I mentioned in another thread - I was well excited to finally be able to put the likes of Mako/ Revel and Quinn in the uniform/clan armour I've been using for all my heavy armour wearers - only issue is instead of bein able to buy the 20 or so I'd need (4 BH's and a Jug) from the imp Taris equipment vendor or running Black Out a few times... I'm stuck hoping and praying that something looted with the same model hits the GTN or loot farming cos oh wait... the schem I've just bought still has BH/SW on it.

I don't tend to ***** whine and moan on these forums but yesterday I was made up at the fact I could finally put all my comps in "uniform" (the BH chest from Taris heroic + the greaves off'f the BH pvp vendor on DK being the central part) only to realise with the heroic changes, that chest isn't going to drop any more cos all of my characters are 60's.. and they've kyboshed the bloody PvP vendor here's hoping I can find crap green versions that someone's willing to put on the GTN.

After logging in I'm planning on 1. Assessing what mess has occurred in the bank concerning all the mats I've got and start some crafting runs if necessary. 2. Clean up any last minute sales I might have running and re-post anything that might be worth selling. 3. Transfer the 2 60's I've got stowed on a RE back home to ToFN 5. Create the free fresh 60 4. If I haven't finished by the time it launches, carry on running the remaining 60's through SOR and Ziost (which could feasibly take me a coupla weeks). 5. Work backwards through those already finished on SoR/Ziost and get them up to 65. 6. Make sure everyone's in 65 gear, banks and credits are narrowed down/streamlined for minimum silliness. 7. Get very drunk to recover from all of the above. 8. Start Fallen Empire on the fresh 60 as a test bed while referring to Dulfy (who by this time will most probably have everything mapped out in fantastic detail) and then work through the rest of the chars. 9. Sleep for 6 months.

As a founder you should have been here long enough to realise that these are essentially lottery bags right? as in ya scratch off 5 squares and ya either win big, win bugger all or win something in between, your ceiling light's the in between... Also see how much it's worth on the GTN and ya might actually be lucky in landing something enough to buy the vehicle you want - hell that's happened to me when I checked the price of those godsawful Rishi cannons and they were going for 5 mil a pop.

From what I can remember, you'll get a free char slot but won't be able to boost a toon to 60.

From what I can gather, the critical path is more their description of "you do planet line + class line = 50ish" not a you must do both to continue past planet x. @ OP alternate between pub an imp while grinding, and switch between base class while you do it and it's hardly noticeable. Or you could just do the sensible thing and use the space bar, yeah you're here for stories, but if you don't like repeating them, skip the dialogue and jus chomp through the action part of that content. For the record, 24 60's most of which were lvl 55 before x12 even came in, I hate repeating content but I did it because at the end of the day, I wanted the characters at max level... I stopped whining and just bit the bullet.
