  1. yes I kind of agree with you , there but hitting those numbers also means that the class is not underpowered. The class is fine, and yes extra effort has to be put, but your comparing a ranged such as BH or sniper to a melee. That is an unfair comparison, because a ranged can always shoot from far, so you can play with tunnel vision and stil perform pretty well . Not the case with any melee, you have to be constantly looking around moving like crazy (circle strafe) around the target and so on, - so technically what you guys are implying is every melee class is weak because they are just harder to play. And CC - marauder has enuff of those, the only problem is we get them later, so one thing bioware can do is give us some of our later cc's a bit earlier, but other than that the class is fine. I mean most arguments always compare a ranged to a mara (esp the Agent, and BH) - which just doesnt make sense, they are ranged we are melee, of course a melee is harder to play and would "seem" squishy, because we cant run back we have to always run towards the oppoent. Also i fink the reason why BH top the damage meters is their aoe "death from above" i belive, that skill does insane amounts of dmg, and can be used in lots of situations, so comparing these 2 classes again is not logical - (a BH vs a mara 1 on 1 = mara wins)
  2. also I am anni specced and lvl 30 and i hit 200k + dmg most of the time in warzones - i do not use any aoe skills ever and most people in warzones that i play with are 25 to 40 So +1 to OP
  3. lol sweeping slash is such a inefficient skill to use esp in pvp - so no the OP defffinatly did not do that - also marauders are totally **** and i mean really **** in aoe damage - instead we do insane single target dps , again people coming here saying OP used aoe skills , just dont get how a marauder works or what our strengths are There is no class in pvp that can beat a marauder 1 on 1 period. (Except if your carnage - imo that tree needs some work). I have never lost to any class in a 1 on 1 situation and i am Anni specced - meaning i self heal and put up dots that crit (almost half the time), as well as having my strong moves such as VS and Force scream off cd so yes what the OP done is believable , even if hes 50 - I have never seen a 50 hit those numbers and I have done warzones with couple of 50's

  5. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#100MIbRrR0fGzZRGb.1 this is the spec that I am currently following for pvp - would work really well for pve too Subjugation instead of close quarters - less cd on both the interrup and the high miss chance IMO is more important than the gap closer, as you can always strafe back and then force leap back onto the target

Go annihaltion - with this spec u pretty much will not loose 90 % of any of 1 on 1 encounters (unless you make mistakes) in pvp, iz just a very powerful spec due to the self heals and the constant crits from the dots. (Btw this is true only if you keybind all your skills and know how to play this class, otherwise ull have a hard time with any mara spec). It also very good in Pve because of its sustained damage (and selfheals) Rage is also very good in early levels ( probably the best until 20 for pvp) due to the burst damage you get from force scream and lower cd on it. However the spec relies heavily on force moves ( and there are few, - Force Scream) Carnage is probably a late bloomer but there are a number of complaints against it so not sure if that is the best tree to go for now until bioware buff it a bit. So overall its just up 2 you which tree you want to follow - i personally specced into Anni and loving it especily in pvp
  7. well there must be a reason why there are quite a number of people in this forum saying this class is fine.. and then there are a number of people who say this class is broken hmm seems to me like the class is fine if played right, but does not suit everyone's playstyle maybe? But i agree with the OP mara's are fine
  8. yeah running with anni also, seems to be the tree with good dps and survivability in both pve and pvp - in my experience

IMO carnage sucks compared to the other 2 trees - it just has a such a long downtime after the initial burst that its quite impossible to keep up a steady dps after - so its very gear dependant compared to Anni anyway - as the other Poster has mentioned aswell, an Anni marauder will NEVER loose to a carnage due to our self heals and constant dps ticks ( > 40 % of them crits) so our dps is constantly runnin during our downtime . Plus our Other skills are still up like force scream and vicious slash (which btw return 1 rage back so techniclly only costs 2 in Anni if you spec right) in PVE with Anni I never go below 50 % health with elites(Gold) - and I have only played with Vette so far and i have not encountered any problems - so maybe it may be a problem with carnage

IMO anni is the strongest pvp spec due to its survival with berserk, when those ticks start critting thers no way a target will be alive and you will always be comfortable in health as your being selfhealed for every crit - I have tried rage , I like its burst but seems to concentrate too much on force scream, not my playstyle - carnage jus seems to have too much of a downtime after the burst - so anni is the best spec IMO
  11. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#100MIbRroz.1 - my Current pvp Anni spec - with this im topping dps(at least in top 3) in warzones and im only level 28 Rotation - if target is up on a ramp , run up battering assault - crippling slash - deadly saber - rupture, (if by this time target pushes you back) - force leap back onto them and use any other abilty until deadly saber - rupture is up BUT - priority IMO is crippling slash always woch it to see when it runs out on target and reapply it every time - this will make sure target does not run away and you can smash any range in the face, they will not stand a chance CC'd? wel depends how long it is and how long your crippling slash lasts and if your force leap is available( usually is) at this point I either CC break if I'm <50% in health or wait til cc goes out then force leap back onto target or use defensive cds and run back to target and apply crippling slash But in pvp its all situaltional and you need to know the other classe's abilities and strengths - for example against and assasin never show your back, otherwise your dead, instead circle strafe them apply your dots and they shuld be down while their trying to get behind you. - I mean as I mentioned before in any 1 - 1 situation I hardly loose - and if I do it's me who usually made a mistake
  12. i might be wrong here or it may be a bug, but as far as I can tell "deadly saber" does not follow the GCD, as I always Activate it as soon as i force charge and it never seems to be locked out like the rest of the abilities. It works just like retalitiation, especially helpful in pvp
  13. i dont know any other game where melee have CC's.. sure they have snares and stuns(just like marauder) - but CC's? that's new for melee but back to the point yes mara's are fine if played right and I'm really enjoyin it esp in pvp
  14. +1 agree completly, marauders are fine (but i do think carnage is lacking compared to the other 2) - just hard to play, but if you figure them out, they are a beast to play with
  15. i think your right about the problem with us not having enuff CC's, but i dont know any melee class in any game that had cc's. We have snares to stop them from getting away or stuns, but CC's never heard a melee ever having one. That said I never get kited, and if I do it's usually my mistake. The thing is most people jump into battle with force leap first, then get pushed bak and then complain saying we have no gap closers. The clever marauder would run up 2 them first then wait till they hit their push - back and then force leap onto them snare and then push out the damage - also dont jump into 2 or more enemies expecting to survive by urself - marauder shines if at least one more person is around so yh
  16. wel fair enuff, anni does take a while to come on its own bu there are some key abilities at 20 + u get that really change the amount of dmg anni puts out , i mean before 20 you dont even obtain Deadly saber, but your choice tho IMO carnage is weaker than both anni and rage , not sure about endgame but during levlling i think the other 2 trees outshine it, but again this is in my opinion - and yes CC are a pain, but remember when u have bleeds up then the dmg is ticking while ur cc'd and if you go berserk or if the tick crits ( most will) then u get healed aswel this is my current spec if you wana try it - http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#100MIbRroM.1
  17. your right - other classes do have it easier , but it does not mean better .. I hardly loose any one on ones, even classes with cc's dont stand a chance - but it is a problem when more than one person targets u , but this is with any class tho ( Im Anni btw, and this spec does really high dmg at 24+) Well good luck with your new class choice tho

  20. i feel a bit OP 2 be honest - my spec is Anni - around lvl 25 the spec has an incredible amount of damage esp in pvp with the bleeds and self heals - so might wana try that in one on one situations i never loose , bu 2 on one depending on if I have ma cds i will take one down at least - so id say give Anni a shot
  21. in my opinion annihalition tops the other two trees, - esp in pvp with the self heals and short , huge dps ticks from bleeds - so far always at top 3 damage
  22. lol as an Anni specced mara, i take out inquis sage or *** with ease, its a joke well mara's are very complex if that is wa ur talking about - they are not static and there is no rotation it's all about priority and choosing ur targets carefully - so no CC's but instead a dps machine if played right can wreck havoc
  23. mid 20 mara here, and pvp is going really well , i usually top the dps or am at least in the top 3. BH usualy take top spot, which isnt a surprise bu I do come close.. The thing is with maradaurs u have to be very careful on when u jump into a battle. This is pvp im talking about btw, never eva just jump straight into 2 or 3 targets, the best way to approach it, is to surprise them. I can take 2 on at once if all ma cds are available.. Current spec is Anni and I do tons of damage and heal ma self aswel , so I think with the right spec and with keybinds a mara can wreck havoc if played cleverly usual rotation after looking at who the easy target is - Force Charge ( only when necessary) , battering assault - then rupture and deadly saber - then crippling slash to slow them down From here usual rotation with force screem and slash and by the time second rupture is active they shuld be down or at least 1/2 to 1/4 of health left - and also always activate Cloak of pain
  24. im going anni, but any of the trees are viable if you look carefully, all tress bring something to the table, but with anni you have higher survivabilty with the self healing , less cd on both the interrupt(very useful) and the force leap and seems to tthe tree that puts a lot more pressure on players and can maybe take on 1 or 2 players by itself compared to the carnage which 2 me seems to be more aimed as a cannon, who needs a healer to survive more than one player but like I said all the trees are viable and totally depends on how you want to play
