  1. Given that it's a paid-for standalone product which (I believe) is actually still on sale, keeping our fingers crossed shouldn't even be the question here, its their product, they sell it and they broke it, they have to ensure they fix it surely? Regardless of consumer regs, common decency dictates that, no?
  2. Was there ever a real official response from this or is this where it was left? I mean, if they're knowingly selling goods that are permanently faulty, we should be refunded for Treek surely?
  3. Just want to ping this thread. Still, in Oct 2016, we have the HK/Treek bug where no affection is ever gained. Two questions - 1, is it ever going to be fixed and 2, do Bioware even bother with bug fixes anymore or is all attention just on pumping out new expansions, adding new bugs on top of old?
  4. I'm confused, in what way is this an expansion as opposed to just another regular update? Even Champions Online are pickier when it comes to calling a spade a spade.
  5. We know about the space combat, good stuff! But what else is going to be in this expansion? More quests? Raise in level cap? Can we get more info
  6. Agreed, THE GUY needs to step away from the keyboard. There isn't a single chest piece I've equipped so far that hasn't had that "extra little summin" messing up the overall quality design. It's either a flap (front/back or side), a large backpack, antenna or huge *****. Please stop spoiling perfectly good pieces with your unneccesary "finishing touches". Oh and while you're at it instigate primary and secondary dye slots!
  7. I think a regular state of the game is a massive step in the right direction when it comes to community communication, having said that four words nearly made me choke on my coffee: "Our game is awesome" Really? It's awesome? Not just "okay" or "passable when compared to most other mmos out there at the moment"? One of several things at play here, either a high level of self-denial, lashings of arrogance or simply a blind refusal to take your own observations "off the rails" and see the game for what it really is. Your game is okay, that's about it. It could be awesome, it has massive potential to be awesome, but the restrictive gameplay (everything is on rails), the lack of immersion (mini games, other activities to do besides questing) and the below-par response to bugs all keep this game from being anything more than "okay". Do you really think that everyone left because they couldn't pay the 15 dollars? They left because they didn't WANT to pay the 15 dollars, your game in it's current state is not worth their 15 dollars in it's current form. Yes, F2P might bring some of them back, we'll certainly see a bit of growth, but the fact remains that your game sways between being quite an "okay" timesink for people to not being worth other people's money or dare I say it, time. F2P will not fix what is wrong with this game. How about you go over your old archives for the Beta forums? Take a look at the posts, the reported bugs (some of which are still in game today) and start listening to the feedback of the fans who are WILLING this game to succeed, despite the continuing refusal of BW to man up and actually face some of the issues it has.
  8. My point was that we've yet to really see how they'll be handling Marvel, the proof of the pudding will be in the next phase of movies, only then will we know whether or not they leave it to the experts, or whether they decide to get involved and in what capacity.
  9. I contributed to a piece last night after the news, a kind of "initial reaction" thing, my first thoughts were these: I see they’ve got three ways to continue with the Star Wars franchise: They can create a direct sequel trilogy, based on the “expanded universe”, giving them the pick of existing stories and continuing the saga of the Skywalkers. This gives them a possible advantage in so much as there’s already an audience – the expanded universe fans. My thoughts would be either the Thrawn trilogy or even better, Dark Empire. They could disregard the expanded universe entirely and create their own sequels to the existing films. This would cause an endless amount of online flaming right up until the point of release – I can smell the carnage already! They could create a new trilogy, set after the expanded universe story. Say, 200 years after ROJ? This would serve to keep all the books and comics and canon, while enabling them to create their own story and characters – this would be my preferred option as a Star Wars fan. If Disney continue right off from ROJ, chances are very high they'll disregard anything the expanded universe has offered up so far, throwing the whole continuity and established timeline out of the window. In my opinion their best bet would be to do an "Old Republic" on the series - that is to set it within a timeframe that doesn't interfere with any existing work, introducing whole new characters for a whole new franchise.
  10. Everyone keeps pointing to Marvel phase I of how Disney has done a "great job" with these kinds of properties - the thing they forget to point out is that phase I was planned, mapped and completed prior to the Disney purchase of Marvel, they had next to nothing to do with the development of those movies. Now that's not to say they won't do a great job with phase II, and also they may well do a great job with future Star Wars movies, but people need to stop using the existing Marvel movies as an example of Disney handling these purchases well.
  11. This bug has been around for quite a while now hasn't it? Sigh, just another of those little things that all add up...
  12. Agree with the above, got a few more old suggestions to add: Cosmetic tab Better robes (belts on the inside for Knights, hood toggle for both) Sliders for character creation (face and body) Customisable ships (easy solution is skins, harder solution would be interchangable parts like STO) Cosmetic Dyes Better headpieces for lower lvl toons - the bowl and the headband just aren't cutting it
  13. Ability lag is possibly one of the biggest issues in game for me, always has been, and it's looking like it always will be!
  14. Despite all of the dismissal you seem to have gotten for this thread you hit on a good point - where's the atmosphere? Another post says this: I actually had no idea it rained on Dromund Kaas, I can't play on full settings, I play on medium. But why is weather restricted to max settings? Every other mmo I've played has some form of weather on medium (some on low), it'd be great to get some weather settings. I was all prepared to make an argument for them being entirely absent in this game until I saw that post :/
  15. This is correct, same thing happened with my Zabrak, it looked so bad I ended up switching it off altogether. It's not a bug per-se, just an unfortunate consequence of the corruption system they've got set up.
  16. I must admit, I'm all for limiting the "convenience" items for F2Pers but quickslots are more a neccesity! I can't believe that people will make do with just 1 given the number of skills and items we carry - some will pay but I imagine a lot will rage quit too - I've seen people quite Lotro for a lot less!
  17. This all sounds very logical and I'm inclined to agree with the fact that content is made well in advance, my question would be: if they've got all this great content in the can, where is it? The game has been out for almost 12 months now, and not even a whiff of an incremental class story update? I get that they'd want to save the bulk of the good stuff for an xpac, but seriously?! This game has had nothing but negative feedback and press since release, with players leaving in droves - surely the odd injection of content that DOESN'T revolve around flashpoints and warzones would have been a massive benefit?
  18. Where's that "like" button again? Seriously though, we've been asking for variations on this since before release and still nothing. Common sense would've decreed body and facial sliders, but then common sense seems to have been off the day when a lot of these decisions were made...
  19. This, simple black multi-layered robes (that's inc. the under robe) for Sith, and Brown/Beige versions for Jedi
  20. I'd say the general "standard" for expansion does not constitute just one new area - that's normally considered just a content update. An expansion would be several new areas, possibly a new gaming mechanic, a new story arc (or larger continuation of existing story arc). This is my opinion obviously, but I'd say to call it an "expansion" in the traditional sense, we'd need four new planets at least!
  21. They said during release they'd remain useful throughout levelling - if this is the case I'm SO happy they've honored that, thanks BW!
  22. By CE speeder do you mean the one bought via the vendor or the STAP which came with the game? I'm really hoping this applies to the STAP I got with DDE!
  23. This has been a concern of mine since before release. Because of the additional cost of voice actors, developing a full fledged expansion with class story is substantially more expensive than the usual text option. MY only question is: surely they considered this before going full VO? This is a business right? Surely one of those high paid execs questioned the validity or neccessity of the additional expense and, you know, what future prospects were for expansion as a result?
  24. I think your faith in that might be misplaced. This is already the second Star Wars mmo. SWG, while hugely popular with a niche audience, was largly considered to have crashed and burned after NGE wasn't it? If this game "fails" I don't see them making another Star Wars mmo for quite some time.
  25. I'm really not worried about this. Personall I bought DDE, the only free thing of value was the speeder, and even that turned out to be obsolete quite quickly - despite BW stating it would remain useful throughout the game. At least if this stuff ends up on store, I might get a shot at having a moddable version of the speeder.
