  1. There is nothing to say you have to do the PVP quests.

Quests are optional and all the PVP quests give you is a very small reputation boost. If you don't like it, don't do it.

    you have many options.

    1. Different instance

    2. Different time of day (go when its quiet)

    3. Do something else.

    4. Form up some groups and take the area yourself.

    5. Join their guild / another guild and get some backup.

  2. The problem is that because War hero gear was suddenly so easily obtainable that players have made lots of money from r/e of the mods and enhancements.

This leads to them having a load more money than before - In order to fix this BW/EA has thought "lets up a common cost to try and resolve this"...However not understanding that most people who play PVP (where this monetary increase has originated from) don't actually pay repair costs so you are only hitting PVE'rs who have got to now do things they dislike in game to recoup said repair cost.

Additionally due to the fact that prices in the cartel market are so high and box items are either so rare or no one is actually buying the boxes any more players are basically resorting to extorting people on the GTN. Effectively it comes down to buying credits. e.g 1800 coins for a speeder that sells for 2m $10 for 1m.

One of the other problems is that in other games (e.g. WoW) guilds have a taxation system that adds money to the guild bank - so players can afford repairs on the guild without being out of pocket via donations.

I would suggest to those making the decisions give the solution BEFORE you create the problem - add a taxation system (which would encourage players into guilds) and increase the monetary drop from PVE kills / reduce the amount that PVPers can make per day.

Whilst your doing that give us an improved crafting system so that every crafter can have a valid reason for picking that craft on their main based on choice (where as now only Biochem does).

I read something about it being a fix for Enhancement repair. my gear has 7 enhancements yet my costs have more than doubled. This can't just be enhancement repair.

  3. Which is good. I think i bought three Cartel Packs so far and vowed to myself to never buy one again, for the sheer amount of crap they contain. If the cost (yes, you pay for them, you know) is 360, I want to at least have the option to trade stuff or gather things. Otherwise they can keep their stuff, thanks a lot, because it's most certainly overpriced.

    Agree with the OP.

Exactly my point. Cartel boxes are not a trading card game players do not have a use for an item past maybe maximum 4 of the item (thats if you assume, main set, off set, pvp main set, pvp off set) why should the GTN be flooded with items no one needs where rare items would still be rare as players would need to gather large quantities of tokens to buy them.

  4. They set up the forum because they want to know what people want in the store, not how to 'fix' it.

The system is not rubbish. its the same system that everyone uses for collectible packs. You buy a pack knowing what could possibly be inside, but you don't know what exactly you are going to get. If you don't like taking your chances, buy what you want with credits off the GTN. Credits really aren't that hard to come by in this game.

    Read my previous posts.

You wouldn't 'Know' what you are getting and are still taking a chance but there is at least some value to the duplicates rather than GTN trash that they currently are.

  5. I disagree. People would spend more money as they know that they have a better chance of working towards an item.

Everyone I know in game is no longer buying cartel packs because of how rubbish the system is.

Why do you think they have set this forum up? ... because they know there is a problem.

being able to work towards a big item compared to having a one off random chance is what will keep people purchasing.

  6. The problem is that with crafting BW need to decide to either give benefits to crafters or not.

All crafts other than Biochem have basically no benefit currently. (Cybertech is the only one that comes close but just no.)

IF crafting should have a benefit - give each craft a unique reusable / upgrade mechanic.

IF it shouldn't. Bring in a higher tier of boosters now and increase the amount gained from crafting with the mats urgently.

A temp solution would be to allow a second crafting profession - split off Gathering professions and crafting professions into different crew areas.

  7. The amount of time it takes to gain black hole coms is nothing any more. You can gain enough gear to run an operation in maybe 3 weeks (or less). You can hide the helm - so thats 1/4. Hands hardly have any impact 2/4. then choose between legs/body or feet

You will be out of tionese/columi in no time.

If you are a solo player - don't bother with set bonus' if the gear is that offensive. You can get mods/armorings/enhancments crafted at (63) level which will allow you to gain Campaign items from EC HM with relative ease.

  8. I've never played MTG but my views on a trading card game is that cards should be trade-able. You should be able to swap multiples of cards to gain the one card you want based on a market. Flooding the market with 500 unwanted lower robes does not help anyone achieve an up-sale (at the end of the day they are always going to be lower robes).

It wouldn't lessen the packs sold and would still work the same.

For instance someone may buy 5 packs and receive 5 x tokens and 10 y tokens and something else. What they want costs 30 x tokens. They can then sell the y tokens to fund the x tokens in much the same way.

Likewise they could still include the items in the pack - which can be traded back into tokens if the person didn't actually want that item.

I'm sure MTG players would look to places to buy a specific card rather than chancing it all the time through packs. What's the difference?

  9. defeats the purpose of a super rare item if anyone can obtain it after buying 3 boxes.

The tokens would still be random so from 1 pack you may get 1 Phantom token and a speeder etc...

1 - 3 is just an example it would scale with the same algorithm that is currently used to assign item 'rareness' for instance if it was 100 tokens for the rare helm and you got 5 per box (random) compared to only 15 tokens for legs for example

  10. Quite a common problem with the cartel packs is the overwhelming number of duplicates you get whilst trying to get the 1 item you need.

It would be easier if for instance you received tokens which then could be traded in at varying prices for gear from that token set.

    Example:

From boxes you receive 4 Revan's Lower robes, 2 Revan's chest plate, 0 Revan Masks (Quite annoying)

If instead you got, 6 Revan Gear Tokens and there was a cost of 1 token for legs, 2 for body and 3 for masks you could obtain the set by trading in your 6 tokens. The market would then be on the 'Token' items so everyone gets 'the same' price and people can save up for the item they need a bit at a time.

The incentive for players would still be to buy boxes as they could get the tokens to get the gear they want randomly. Eliminating the annoyance of multiple duplicates to some degree.

Note: Reposted from Suggestions forum as this is the correct forum for the idea.

  11. Cleared EC NiM with Jug, PT, Sorc and Merc dps.. Jug and PT were top of the DPS meter.

Its about the player not the class. I've seen a operative out dps other classes with ease because there is never an ideal situation where players can just focus purely on their rotation and squeeze all the dps perfectly.

  12. call the waaambulance!

if you actually read the blogs and dev dispatches you would know that they did give out as much info on the xpac as they could while not spoiling anything. would you like them to do this like hollywood, show you the cool exciting bits and then make you pay to sit through crap interrupted by the cool **** you saw int he preview?

"they" also said this would be the biggest free expansion ever released.

Its a question of whether you want to spend £5.50 on a roll of the dice as to whether you think you will enjoy something made by the team.

  13. they mentioned the possibility of this in the following interview:

    18. Will be there any faction or Advanced Class change option available for purchase in the future?

We have had serious talks recently about offering an Advanced Class change option – I think that one will likely happen eventually. Species is likely as well. Doing a faction switch is considerably more difficult for us, though, due to the various quest flags set throughout the level up process, so this isn’t on the horizon anytime soon.
