  1. I understand they all look the same but I have an operative so I know the rotations people use. Also, I know that Debilitate has a base 45 second cool down which can be lowered down to 30 seconds if they spec and get slip away. Like everyone else that has read the post, I want to call myself a liar and pretend that it didn't happen. The fact is, it takes me at least the duration of the stun (4 seconds) to type /s reported let alone have the time needed to assess the situation and get pissed enough to type /s reported. Though it may not have been a whole minute, imagine how long it would take to Debilitate someone to death. It was a long time and wasn't pleasant, but like all glitches it will catch on and the more people do it the more obvious it will get.
  2. Ok, I guess I should say, I haven't cared enough to look into how to do it since it hasn't been relevant any other time but this one. But like that guy said before, who would have thought we would be the ones to police the game for them.
  3. They implemented the combat log thing before I came back to the game. There hasnt been enough people on my server to actually want to figure out how to use the feature. I can tell you for sure that they were using Dibilitate over and over as I had plently of time to observe and assess the situation. I know it doesn't help anyone here as proof but I did report the guy and would hope that they could look up his log somehow or watch him play.
  4. I agree with what you're saying, I think you should give people the benefit of the doubt and ask them what is going on. The only problem is next to none of them will say anything and only the real dumb ones will admit to you they are hacking. About the commando stealth thing, operatives have infiltrate. Not saying that's what that was but could have been. Like you said though there is no harm in submitting a report for investigation, hoping that they will fix some of these issues.
  5. So I was in a voidstar match and everyone moved up to the next set of doors but I was still at the first. An operative started attacking me using Dibilitate. At first I was thinking oh great a stun lock (I have a 50 operative so I know how it works), but the more they used it I started to think... what the crap, am I lagging? About a minute goes by and he is still using Dibilitate and stepping backwards, then forwards and using debilitate over and over until I finally died to the low powered move. During all this after I realized I wasn't lagging, I simply typed in /say reported as if the threat of anything bioware would punish him with would be significant enough to deter them from doing it. I just came back to the game because of the free month and am not having a good time. I guess this post was to see if anyone else has seen someone doing this. I watched him through the rest of the game and he would start doing it to others but he was sometimes stunned by others to interrupt his glitch.
  6. Plenty of people sell all levels of purple/orange weapons and for the same price you probably would be willing to buy a crystal for. Honestly, how hard is to take a crystal out of a weapon. Not to mention all of mods, stims, and medpacks are lower quality than what a crafter can actually make. There are many ways to get these things, I can't figure out if you're lazy or just want something to complain about. I am still laughing about the SERIOUS game flaw. What are we all going to do without level 9 crystals, the game is ruined and unplayable.
  7. Who are you to demand them as commendation rewards. You had an equal chance to level up Artifice as a crew skill just like everyone else. If you are unhappy with what is available on the galactic trade market then you should try and ask in general chat. If I saw someone asking for an artificer to craft something for money in general chat I would step up and make it if I could and COD it. But to sit around crafting to make money is not why I play the game. My other suggestion to you would be to make an alt and level it up to around 40ish so you have all your companions to craft for you. Right now I have 4 level 50 toons and have been making mods for all my alts as well as my guildies/friends. If you aren't willing to do these things, then you don't deserve to have frequently upgraded crystals.
  8. Just because we play this game for different reasons doesn't give you the right to be rude to people. I like making toons and actually playing them. I chose the names for a reason and would not like to be FORCED to change them. What if they forced a reset to your pvp rank or crew skills. At least you would eventually get them back but I won't be able to change my name back. And I don't like making my toon names slightly different, it's just a pet peeve. Just because it isn't a big deal to you doesn't mean you get to go around harassing everyone about it.
  9. I for one am not looking forward to this happening. Sure call me crazy, but I don't like being the only one leveling on a planet at any given time or waiting for hours upon hours to get a pvp pop or group for a flashpoint. So why then do I not want to be forced into transferring to another server? It's simple. I do not want to be forced to transfer my toons to another server for the fact that I reserved the game and have been a member since day one. I got the early access and made sure that I made toons just to reserve their names. If I have to transfer servers I know that I will have to change at least half of those names. I have 3 level 50's and a level 42 and planned on playing every class for it's story. If you take away what little character customization and attachment that I have with my toons it will be an unsub for me.
  10. Does this still work? It always makes me mad when trying to get UT rank 5 metals because those missions are so hard to come by.
  11. How about a bard class equivalent and you level up by playing for those who log out in a cantina getting double exp. Every time you level up you get a new gig at a different planet's cantina. You can also be hired to peoples ships for birthday and slumber parties. Don't forget about weddings and Hutt's palaces. Just get ready to, "Play that same song."
  12. First off I will say I do like the game but to me, the genre is off. It seems like I am paying monthly for a co-op RPG as opposed to an MMO. And of coarse Rome wasn't built in a year, but could you imagine a year into progress them saying that it's completely done and saying that they will make minor weekly changes if needed while charging full price for it. Of coarse not and they are about as far off of being an MMO as Rome was one year into construction. It seems kind of absurd to me since MMOs have been around for a while, but they are forced by a publisher to put it out before they should because they want to make money.
  13. I think to move forward in making MMOs, you not only have to be innovative and come up with new ideas but you also have take from the good and learn from the bad of past MMOs. In my personal opinion, I think that Bioware hasn't committed to either for whatever reason. I really like the idea of this thread and hope that developers can take away some things that the consumers feel. I personally like the game and want to see it succeed but I think that EA/Bioware needs to be committed to making the best MMO and then the money will come later. Here are some things that I don't like about the game or would want to be change. I will try not to hit on the things that have already been mentioned in earlier posts. 1. Space Combat I like the idea of space combat but I do not like what the end result of it was. I think the thing that made me sad about it the most was that the missions were fixed and you had to fly where the camera took you. It would have been a lot better if it was free roam with a possibility of making pvp space combat in the future. I think just flying around would be a great time sink. Also I would have loved to buy my own spacecrafts and collect a bunch of them somehow. Mods are cool but not good enough. 2. PvP: A thing that turned me off to pvp early in the game was the fact that everyone was grouped together. Even though you changed it to 50's having their own group, pre 50's should be split up more too. Even if its only 10-29 and 30-49. 3. Voice Acting: I did not like the fact that you group the voice acting into classes, it takes out all the realism for me when group with other species of the same class that sound like me. I understand why you did it but I think that you should have grouped similar species (1. human,cyborg,miraluka///2. Zabrak,Twi'lek///3. Chiss, Mirialan///4. Sith,Rattataki) instead of classes (1. Inquisitor, consular///2. bounty hunter, trooper///3.Agent, Smuggler///4. Warrior, Knight) 4. Bugs and Glitches: This is the main reason that I stopped playing the game for a while. The broken quests in Ilum, the bugs in the end game content the made operations longer than what they already were. The fact that I can't jump up onto a rock that only goes up to my shin is incredibly annoying. I know that you ironed out a lot of this stuff but a lot of these things should have been taken care of before the game launched and not 2-3+ months into the game. Here are some things that I enjoyed from other MMOs. I think the major thing that needs to be added to the game are time sinks. I think Ilum was supposed to be SWTOR's time sink but even if Ilum was enjoyable and successful I think it would have got old just as fast. 1. DCUO: This game had a good time sink. You could go around in the zones searching for, if i remember right, something called collections. They had a bunch of different sets in different areas that you would go around hunting for and if you found all the items in a set you would get a reward sent to you in the mail. They also had investigation marks and other things to do and when you would complete so many of them you were rewarded with more skill points to add to your character to use on stats, abilities or weapon skills. I also liked the customization of their gear. Every set of gear they had in the game had a style name and once you collected that certain style, you could set it as your characters appearance for that slot even if you still weren't wearing that particular piece of armor. I also liked the fact that you could use whatever weapon you wanted to. If I have a ranged character, why do i have to us a blaster pistol or a rifle? The blaster cannon is so cool but maybe I don't want to be a commando. The uniqueness from one character to another is something that needs to be improved on in SWTOR. 2. Rift: Rift gave you a reason not to stand around in the capitol city/fleet all the time. They had world events and random zone events. These provided a time sink and rewards you couldn't get anywhere other than participating. I've never had anyone say to me in this game, "wow, where did you get that mount." 3. WoW: WoW had a lot of things they brought to the table and they did a lot of things to keep people playing for a long time. One of my favorite things they did was duel specs. I love doing dps but when it comes down to it I would rather go and heal than to not go at all. I should never be charged an obscene amount of currency to participate in a game that I pay money per month to play. Not to mention the time it takes to respec and get your abilities set again before operations. Who doesn't love achievements. If someone is bored of the game and doing the same things over and over they can always turn to achievements. It's a fun time sink especially if they are rewarded for their hard work. I absolutely loved account bound items. The ability to have making alts an enjoyable thing is another great time sink. 4. FFXI- The thing that was most enjoyable about this game is how time consuming everything is. After all, it's an MMO and you shouldn't feel like you have beat the game. When you reached a max level either with a job class or crafting, you felt a real sense of accomplishment because it wasn't easy to do. Fishing in that game was amazing and I could do that for hours alone. Notorious Monsters in that game was fun. It was hard to get good gear in that game and if you could wait for hours and try and farm a NM and get the drop you would have an amazing piece of gear that would make others jealous. I also liked their idea of having a main class and then a sub job that you would get abilities equal to half of your main class. This made characters unique. In summary I think they need a lot more time sinks to keep people hooked on the game and still wanting to play. The ability to do something else in the game as opposed to saying something like, "I don't feel like playing that game because it got old." The other thing they need is a way to make every character different through better customization and things I have taken the time to earn that makes everyone else jealous. Right now every class looks the same and uses the same companions and rides the same speeders using the same weapons per class with the same stats and abilities. This game right now is way too linear.
  14. Dude that is genius. I would love the ability to have a member of my legacy, that I took hours and hours to level up, be able to earn as a companion for other toons. That idea is so amazing and would be so fun in a unique way to every player as well as hit on the heavy story environment that they are trying so hard to create and make unique. I think that may be what bioware is missing, the things you can earn that you can show off that no one else has. You can race to get the best gear but in time everyone else will have the same stuff making all the time you put into getting it pointless.
  15. Legacy System (Bioware Please Read) First of all I would like to say that the only reason I came back is because of the legacy system. I played for about two months before i realized it was time to stop playing. There were too many bugs and I couldn't take playing anymore, it was pissing me off and I wasted the rest of the time on my three month subscription. Then the legacy system was implemented and I was told I was getting a free month so I came back to play. I like the idea of the legacy system but I feel that you guys aren't going about it the correct way. Like others have said, it is a credit sink but please hear me out on this. I am into the legacy system. Some people like PvP, others like the End Game, and I like making alts and going through the story (preferably with other players but others are already hitting on transfers/merges). As I learned more about what you guys had done with legacy system, I found out that all the cool things cost a lot of credits to get. I play multiple characters as opposed to focusing on playing a main one. I spend all my credits on crafting mods and gear for my other characters as well as sending them money for mailbox slots/cargo holds/speeder training. So my question is, if the legacy system is tailored to people who like making alts, why does it cost an obscene amount of credits when our legacy level shows that we have earned it. The way you have it now seems to benefit those who aren't interested in the legacy system and only want to play a main character (and by reading the other posts, it sounds like not many of them can afford it either or they arn't interested). So instead of charging credits, you should do something like charging commendations instead of giving the advantage to those devoted to one character that makes a lot of money. For example, those who want to play more characters and want extra exp for space missions when they level, make a legacy requirement and maybe charge a few hundred space commendations. How about those who want a galactic trade market on their ship need a certain legacy level and need to have a 400 crafting skill for each character to earn one. Rewarding a player for things they like to do with the things they like to do seems like the best way to keep people playing.
