  1. refuse to participate in this forum because a paltry handful have over run it with their whining and crying about things that amount to diddly. Let us know when they're gone.
  2. WoW players. That's so funny. Refugees from a game that sucks. "But...but...I've been playing it since I was seven! I'm an MMO expert! I've got a level 973 ranger guy!" Uh huh. Right.
  3. Sounds like a bunch of Glen Miller fans complaining about the Beatles. "This old game...gee...what a sad story that was...." Yeah, I'm let down. A bunch of know-it-alls subbed for this game full-well knowing they intended to not like it, then get on our forums and rant about it as if to get some sort of cyber-cred they can sport back in skool. Yeah. Let down is right. Just leave.
  4. We'll alert the media. You cancelling a subscription to a game has to be news somewhere.
  5. To hear the complaints you get the idea they've dropped $500k on a custom Mercedes that arrived as a Yugo. Same guys will drop a ten on American beer. Go figure.
  6. The OP said it in the rant, a specific companion for specific circumstances. Why have several companions if they're all alike, but for the adolescent appeal of cosmetics? Being "worried" about equipping myself and my companion? I'm sorry. I don't worry about either. Then, I'm not trying to end the game in two weeks. I have plenty of time ahead of me. I don't think impatience is something the devs should design for.
  7. I guess it'd be a pain to suggest that should time-travel, or "warping" be possible, it'd be like you never left. No time would pass...or not sufficient to be noticed by our paltry senses.
  8. Sorry. I get no clicking sound when I run/walk. No clicking sound at all other than what's intended to be there that can be characterized as a "click."
  9. I've been thinking about this for a week now, and the more I noticed, the more complicated the response to this appeal seemed to become. Naturally, something will be left out. 1. What's amazed me are the NPC's facial expressions (including subtle eye movements) and gestures. Include in this the occassional sarcastic remarks, and jokes. 2. The combat animation. Remarkably well done. 3. The various storylines. I'm running eight toons, so I'm following most of them. Very well written and thought out. Very engaging. 4. The immersion. I'm in the world, and it's fabulous. I get so absorbed in it, even my dog is feeling a bit left out. 5. Datacrons are beginning to be one of my favorite objects. A game within a game. Unique, and well-executed by the devs. Five stars for this. 6. The layers of movements you have to make to transverse from world to world. I like this because, though it only takes minutes, it does lend a sense of dimension. The neighboring world isn't just a walk up the lane. It does take some doing to get there. 7. Flashpoints are challenging, rewarding and engaging. Five stars for this, too. And, no, I don't need a dungeon finder. People wanting dungeon finders should try one of the half dozen games out there that use them. I like to travel to get there. There...it isn't a constant "here." 8. Geography, geology and landscape. I love it. Nar Shaddaa is stunning. Whoever designed that visually is my hero. Unbelievable. That's what I show my friends when they want to take a look at the game. It's truly a jawdropper. 9. The companion affection system. It's especially challenging when your companion doesn't agree with you. You can't please everybody, so just please yourself? We'll see how that works out. This innovation was very creative, and energizing to see. 10. Modifiable armor and weapons. Lots of games have tried. Lots of games have failed. This one promises to be a winner. I'll leave the list at ten. Not to say, there aren't more. tl;dr is epidemic in our culture these days. Also, it's wise to take into consideration the devs will be refining all of these features and more as the months turn to years....did I mention crafting??? Don't get me started.
  10. Don't worry, OP, most of the complainers got here intending to complain before the game was released. It's how they gain their social status. When they brag about doing it in the lunchroom at skool, they're treated as cyber-heros. Just remember, tens of thousands aren't "having problems" or "harshly criticizing" like tech-gods. At the same time, these same tens of thousands will be unlikely to post on the forums. They view the forums as being overrun by pretentious brats, a point against which it's difficult to argue. The game won't die just because the 733T speakers' moms finally drop this credit card charge. There's more than enough of us in the game to make them the drop in the bucket they fail to realize they are. hang in there :-) PS They'll get to the bugs eventually...one at a time...and it does take time.
  11. I prefer playing my five Republic toons to my three Imp toons. Go figure.
  12. Massively...isn't that the highly touted teen magazine? What's cool this week?
  13. Yeah. We need an actual head count. How many play vs. how many have problems. THEN we need a hardware rundown...how many three month old computers were bought at K-Mart...you get the drift. Rant away. Given enough time the community will be shed of malcontents.
  14. Click on the "credits" button on your character select panel. Be amazed.
  15. Ummm....since nVIDIA's card on Win7 causes "dribbling" (the reader jumps back and forth from the card to the page file for no particular reason, causing the card to reset after two seconds), and I switched to AMD, can't report one problem. Sorry.
  16. Yeah, that five seconds should be more entertaining.
  17. Thanks for the unsolicited advice. I'll put it where all such things belong.
  18. About posting supposed work arounds to supposed issues...it doesn't seem realistic or reasonable for a company to appear to endorse a solution that, though it may work on "someone's" machine, hasn't been demonstrated to either a.) address a real problem that's universal, or b.) been created by someone with significant technical expertise. I know in this world of experts people swear up and down the problem is real, their solution is sound, and "there's nothing wrong with my machine." (People trying to play an MMO on a laptop has always made me laugh, for instance, and it's hard to imagine trying to engineer a game with that in mind. Though, it's an optomitrist's dream.) Also, the thought that out of the admitted thousands of alleged complaints, the complainers not only admit there's thousands of players, but they seem to think they should get some sort of special treatment because they've complained. Obviously, to have a staff large enough to treat each complainer like a gold-plated VIP and open up an on-going, personal e-mail correspondence with them (to make them feel as important as they seem to think they are) would raise the subscription price to ten times what it is just to pay all the salaries that would involve. A sad fact (for some) is if you're crying about spending sixty or a hundred-sixty bucks, thinking that's a lot of money in this world, you have no clue what money is. The amount spent on this game is a small pittance. A friday night out with a date costs more than you'll spend in a year on this game, unless of course you're six-pack Joe or a cheapskate. In fact, if this is a lot of money to you, maybe you really don't have the money for this sort of passtime. It might be that instead of playing you should be working on increasing your earning power. Above all, I truly don't trust the judgement, veracity, or technical expertise of the unwashed minions. That's why I'm not paying them (you) a dime for anything. I'm paying Bioware and EA for their services. I'm also expecting them to use their own judgement, expertise and staff to develop this game. In fact, just as there is a EULA, there is also a contract I have with them where they've assured us all that's how it is. Were it any other way, I'd be shopping somewhere else. Now, I know this is (thus far) way too much text for the attention span of the average complainer. Furthermore, they're not really interested in discourse, as they say they are to suit their flimsy accusations. And, I don't think this post will stem the tide of self-aggrandizing "experts" making claims, accusations and assertions that are more figments of their imaginations, than they are fact. I just want some text on this forum that disputes their holier-than-thou MMO Godlike assertions. This disputation I deign to wager will not be addressed by any of them, and by that you see their worth to this community. Thanks if you read all of this.
  19. Ahar. Total BS. You're shameless. Tune-Up is straight up integrity. You know not from whence you speak, yet you go on, and on, and on, and on....ad infinitum. And...yeah...go back to WoW. That's your kind of place. You belong there.
